so who do you guys think are the new rulers of rock? i say audioslave.....
  4. the proof is in the $, there's not one person on this board that can pack a place better than GA (one not 2). Maze is a perfect example. Come on let's be realistic. if you're an old greasy club owner who is running low on cash, you book acosta.
  5. a tasty new CD I produced.....
  6. so when are guys booking GA again? he brought the $ in that night he played....

their new bassist is wicked. mike trujuilo (sp?) used to play for Suicidal Tendencies and then Ozzie. he has a lot to do with molding their new sound. it actually sounds a lot ST. are they playing at Lollapolooza?
  8. this is what it's all about: free concert, fireworks, and whatever else you can manage to get your hands on.... the househeads will be home pouting.... ha-ha!
  9. i doubt he'll be last considering his other contractual duties that night...
  10. because most people on here are concerned with what they see, over what they hear.
  11. have you heard the new solo track from Dave Gahan? sick analog work... not like alot of these cheesy house tracks out now.
  12. as predicted, this summer your usual house/trance hideaways will become hip hop hell holes...
  13. i think the reason why GA hates this town is because its filled with some of the shadiest promoters/club owners/management in world, and therefore he is hesitant to submit to Maze. there is not one local DJ who can pack a venue better than GA, regardless of what type of music they play. 1) he is as technically proficient on the decks as they come. 2) he plays music over 140 bpm, which clearly moves crowds. before everyone jumped on the house bandwagon, he was the only DJ that mattered here in Miami.
  14. it will be interesting to see if he can actually compose music. too many DJs, not enough electronic musicians...
  15. Here is a link to some new material I'm working on... Let me know what you think.... http://www.soundclick.com/bands/4/richardthelionhearted.htm
  16. "summer breeze, makes me feel fine...." sick cover tune...
  17. one of his productions "you won't see me cry..." was voted as one of the best female vocal dance tracks of all time... he is very talented indeed.
  18. Jam Master Jay (RIP)
  19. maybe i missed something... I thought that the jazid sundays was going to be primarily live sets? PA work is what will give your night true musical value, and circuit credibility -- aside from that, other promoters are doing the exact same thing as you... booking DJs. anybody can be a DJ, especially here in Miami. there are doznes of electronic acts that are waiting on promoters like you to take a chance on them and let them preform a live set. the true aesthetic of that venue is live music, going back to when I think it was called Roses.... maybe i'm over-optimistic about the scene....
  20. WHAT'S NEXT ..... ? AFRO-CUBAN AFTERHOURS SENIOR CITIZEN SUNDAYS JEWISH JUNGLISTS HOMOSEXUAL HOUSE SESSIONS WHEELCHAIR WAREHOUSE PARTIES By specifically calling out a protected category (religion/christian) you are discriminating against all non-christians who love to party afterhours. what about jews for jesus... are they allowed in? If you were an employer your ass would have been slapped with class action-suit....
  21. george acosta is very good... check out the new double disc "Touched." the first CD is progressive trance the second is slamming hard trance with breaks. Wow! put those two Cds in and your on auto pilot.
