  1. Steve Lawler will be at Maze on Friday. I've seen a poster yesterday for Space and didn't have Lawler on it.

Whatever is the final line-up for Thursday I don't care no more. Sasha and Digweed are playing there, that's my whole cup of tea for me.

Carmel knows what he's doing. Next Monday he will treat us with Eric Morillo and Josh Wink. What a party, at a real club, with a great vibe, dancers, and obviously many of the eye candy grrrrsl that swing down once Tantra closes.

Would that necessarily be a good thing though? Look at where rap was and now is. As soon as corporate America gets their grubby hands on music, it ends up being shitty. I like it where it is right now. Fuck a Grammy. Popularity and crossing over into mainstream culture ruins this music... look at Oakie and the whore of a CD he made with Bunkka. I pray it stay here, where DJs make cash and the people are insane. I would be crushed if I saw MTV take it on. America would ruin it if it were to go mainstream... we are not the UK, the can handle it

    I agree.

I think you are right. After Demi's party the other nights were too slow. But I remember that Demi's night was the first Friday ever to get busy at Maze. And the other party in December was pretty busy upstairs and had ten people downstairs for Noel.

I just hope the truth unfolds onto what happened there. This guys have been back before. So is it warehouse or a new venue?

My favorite bar is the Emerald 5 way in the back...there's a huge beer pipe and they serve beer from all around the world...also cool is the ice skating ring, which is closed for reparations...other than that? Hum...there's much more to it but the fun thing is for you to see it for yourself...check it out!

Forgot to mention the female stripper attendants in the men's bathroom. And the water bed in the DJ booth.

    What a pre-Conference warm-up!;)

Class act but have to work early tomorrow:mad:

Will set up a light Tuesday next week thou. I'm not missing Morillo at Back Door Bambi.:D:cool:

  7. But who packs the main dancefloor til 5 am like they used to? A club without a good dancefloor if worth nothing IMO.

To fill that dancefloor with people, not stages, you need class DJs, both residents and guests. Exclusivity is a must for this.

That's why I respect Space so much. Their resident DJs are Space's, period. Get Cedric into the VIP on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Leave the VIP Cedricfree on weekends and hire a good DJ for the mainfloor on Fridays and Saturdays.

And after Crobar NYC opens, get guest DJs in a regular basis once again.:cool:

  8. I'll be there, Eddie. He is playing the main room right?

BTW, couple friends told me there were more people at Lime Bar than at Maze, and even Lime Bar was considerably slower this Friday. Sorry we couldn't make it for George Morel.

FYI, Crobar was packed, but not as packed as for Nick Warren.

Any official word on WMC final line-up?

  9. I went to Crobar, valet the car there and avoided the abnoxious crowd that follows Cheeselini and Cedric's Origins, "Where the Music Begins - To Get on Your Nerves". (No reference direct or indirect to the new club to open soon).

Passed by Blue, an often spot I like to hit with my buddies in our way to our final destination. BTW, Saturday, never a cover, fun intimate crowd and almost always great music.

Glad surprise to find Austin Leeds spinning. It was such a good set, he went all nite, that we ended up staying until the end, and missing Aquabooty.

I really dig Austin's newer sounds. He can rock the place like few others. Thanx Austin and Blue. I'll be there again very soon.
