  1. awesome track I am still plugging big time back here in London and thanks to Roly for giving me the track during WMC Biz mail me when you can bro... please
  2. **Deeper Substance in association with Yoshitoshi Recordings presents In House We Trust Vol3 Cd Launch Party** WITH VERY SPECIAL GUESTS ON THE NIGHT LUKE FAIR & DESYN MASIELLO. Incredible to think two years have already passed since its humble beginnings in a tiny bar round the corner from Fabric called Jacomos. The past two years have been nothing short of a rollercoaster and there has been a lot of blood, sweat, a lot of hardship but on the back end of that, so many rewarding and unbelievable experiences in all of the 23 times Deeper Substance has taken place. First off a massive massive thank you to every single DJ that has kindly agreed in one way or another to play alongside myself, Sian and Alex Sansford. Throughout the two years, we have tried to bring in as many different DJ's, big name and up and coming and try to diversify the nights from month to month. I think you will see from the list of DJ's (ranging from Lee Burridge to Rui da Silva to Bill Brewster, Clive Henry, Ross Cale, Jonathan Lisle, Paolo Mojo, Deep Space Organisms...the list goes on and on.....) that have played that this has been the case and a contirbuting factor to the night's success. With a next to nothing budget, Deeper Substance has managed to stand out and last amongst the many clubnights around the capital and that is down to the diverse and awesome crowd that continue to pack out the night. Hvaing now established myself and settled at the new venue Thirteen now three months into the partnership, the night has grown from strength to strength and with the addition of a later licence, there is now total freedom in the music policy to really push ourselves. This 2nd Birthday celebrations will be a massive night for me and all those involved in the night as I am delighted to have both Luke Fair and Desyn Masiello step in next to me and Alex as we see the official launch of the new "IN House We Trust" Cd compilation that will be released in June on Yoshitoshi Recordings. For the night, an improved sound system on the already impressive set-up there at the venue will be in place for the lads and myself to give it a good seeing too and wil be the perfect way to kick off another Bank Holiday weekend of carnage. Desyn and Luke are both on fire at the moment and you don't need me to tell you these guys are the ones to watch for the future. Tipped by Sander Kleinenberg and Deep Dish, Desyn Masiello's blend of sleazy funk fuelled house has seen him spread his sound to practically all four corners of the globe. Luke's production work and skills on the decks speak for itslef, now signed to Bullit Bookings this man is going places and is an exclusive to Deeper Substance next week. Please come down and show your support, let your hair down and dance ur asses, tits and whatever else on you to the floor. There is a paying guestlist available at the reduced rate of £7. Please email demi@deepersubstance.com for this and please also arrive as early as possible so as to avoid any disappointment. For those who cannot make the night for obvious reasons, we will have the whole show recorded too and there will be announcement on the website as and when this is broadcast Thanks again to all those who have supported the night and her's to another two years of more party madness

  7. incidently who did you email about the Playbooy party at Raleigh on Friday as I had been looking for that myself
  8. what jon said was spot on and Maze did exactly what i would have done in having an open bar promotion it simply is a case right now of p[acking the club with bodies - the more bodies that are in there, the more people are experience Maze itself and what it can offer I personally cannot wait to come back to Maze after Conference and begin the Deeper Substance residency at the club and with the momentum building and with the exposure the club will have during conference, I hope that this will be the turning point in Maze's potential being recognised

  16. but well put in every way bro you got my support
  17. this is an interesting topic of conversation which I have been keeping an eye on these past few days with interest as I was glad that Tyler was going to be guesting at Maze. Coming from the experience and awesome ones at that from playing in Miami 3 times within 12 months and will be a lot more within the next few months, "cutting edge" music and Miami's music scene do not go hand in hand and this has been it appears clearly reflected on the night with Tyler who personally I think is a kick ass DJ who has rocked Fabric here in London so many times he is treated as a local hero there. The same cannot be expected to happen in Miami and certainly not in a place like Maze. The ideals are true indeed BUT there needs to be some sort of balance sorry I think that's the wrong word,....the promoters need to be booking more credible nights to be showcased and there needs to be far more research carried out into how you will pack the club out it simply isn't enough to book someone like Tyler and expect it to be rammed. Nights like hosting Subliminal which would feature Erick and Co or OVUM records with Josh Wink and Co, something along those lines would be better.. Providing more of a package is what I guess I am trying to say if that makes any sense and it's the same method of thought I had when the idea was there to host Deeper Substance at Maze. There needs to be a substance behind every party and not just simply booking a DJ in the hope that it wil pack. I only had the balls to host a party at Maze because there was a foundation there built from last year's WMC and also at Reserved in November, building the momentum creating THAT vibe you need to make a party special and I feel that the first DS night on the 24th Jan was a significant step in that direction. Keeping in regualr contact with people, spreading the word basically good promotion for something you believe in is how things will work and yes it takes time but that is all more rewarding. After Conference and the 2 parties I will be hosting at Reserved during that time, I have agreed to a quarterly residency at Maze with the intention of creating that special occasion at Maze for friends, music lovers and the public in general and have had awesome support from so many good people in the local area who accept and want to push my beliefs forward. I honestly do believe in Maze and WMC will be a critical time for the owners. I think they will certainly hold their own anyway pod is on the right lines there I feel the club must not go down the same route as Opium.
  18. a 6.30 am finish with the venue staying open for us an extra 90 minutes. It's a venue like this which has been my goal to find since the move from Spirit in an attempt to re-capture the underground house scene which is still prelevant in London if you look hard enough and that same message which I want to spread all over the workd, especially Miami The night totally whacked me out but all the effort and exhaustion is worth every single minute when the night is on and in full swing as it was on Saturday. The only reason we cut it short even at the end was because I had to be at my cousin's house only an hour later to play paintball later that day. I think I might now try and test how how late we can keep the party going. Could prove interesting. The night was again a resounding success and as month after month passes, I begin to learn more about the crowds and times people turn up. There wasn't the stampede we had in the first month thankfully and though numbers were thin to start with this in fact helped with people feeling a lot more comfortable sitting down enjoying their drinks. Thankfully come about 12.30 the main room was very busy which was great for Pole Folder who was a gent for accepting my invitation to make his first UK gig at DS. As for Paolo you know this guy continues to astound me each time he is simply awesome both in his mixing but more importantly the trakcs he seems to just pick out each time simply phenomenal and no reason he has played here 4 times now for me. During his set I was approached by this German fella who said he was a saxophonist. At first I was a bit dubious about this and said I couldn't help him out and offer him to play as I honestly didn't think it was right for this particular night. But after persuasion from the owner who has in fact asked him to play before on other nights there, I caved in and said he could come on at 3am when I was to follow on from Paolo MY GOD HOW WRONG WAS I? He was simply sensational and from a party already kicking off, it brought it up to a new notch the atmosphere was simply electric with this guy who just simply hooked up his #$%! whilst we were playing and added another dimension to some awesome tunage being played. The b2b sessions with me and Paolo then with me and Alex when Paolo left at 5am was just brilliant as well and what was especially pleasing was a new wave of people entering the venue at about 3-4am which I had noticed last month. Obviously the lure of alcohol served all night helps too as people look for a place to go afterhours. All in all a simply awesome night and there is so much more to come. Pics are being uploaded as we speak so keep checking during the week I aim to have them up withing a couple of days there are so many pics. www.deepersubstance.com only 2 weeks to go
