Road trip to Holland! CP/TA Miami invades Amsterdam.

I think that there are a few Miami DJ's that have a real good shot of being in the DJ mag top 100. The sad thing is most dont get the love from the hometown fans when it comes to voting. Oscar G: Dark Beat exposed Oscar to the new generation of house heads around the world. The old school still know Murk, but alot of younger people did not know Oscar G until Dark Beat. Murk has also been hard at work again remixing and this too should raise Oscar's profile. I think with Oscar's reputation from Space and Dark Beat, he should have enough votes for a spot in the top 100. Edgar V: Edgar has alot of trance fans around the USA from his gigs with PVD. Dont underestimate what playing to packed clubs can do. He has alot of passionate fans that support him wherever he plays. Last year he was mentioned by PVD as his favorite up and coming DJ. Nice endorsment! Markus Schulz: His radio show has blown up this year, and he has a huge fan following all over the globe because of it. Global DJ Broadcast was voted on several online polls ahead of Essential mix and even John Digweed's radio show as the best online radio show in the world. The only show that seems to be more popular right now is Armin Van Buuren's "A State of Trance". Pretty damn impressive for a show that originates on 93.1. His remix and production work this year helped raise his profile too. Markus is one of those few DJ's that has captured the imagination of tranceheads and prog heads with his melodic sets. when voting for your top 5, please remember to give some love to these boys who represent Miami. They need our support, because they do have a real good shot at making the top 100.

Harry ‘Choo Choo’ Romero has been arrested after an incident on an Air Lingus flight from Malaga to Dublin at the weekend. The New York-based DJ/producer allegedly hit another passenger as he was disembarking the plane for a gig in Belfast on Friday night. Multi-Millionaire businessman and former owner of a major Irish tabloid newspaper, Gerry McGuinness, was rushed to hospital with a broken nose. The assault apparently took place after some of Romero’s luggage fell from an overhead locker. The DJ was restrained by cabin staff, then handcuffed by the local police, arrested and held in custody until a court appearance the following day. The court heard evidence of the alleged incident and he was granted bail of 15,000 euro and must wait in Lisburn until his next appearance in court later this week.

there are more specialized message boards now, all the trance people go to tranceaddict.com and there is also progaddict.com. Those boards are always busy and always talking about amazing new tunes. And they are very open minded too, its not just trance talk. As a matter of fact, I would like to go on record as saying that the tranceheads seem to be alot more open to different styles of music then house heads. You cant expect to rip all the music people about their tastes and then expect them to come back to the same boards.

Actually, ASOT has now been pushed back 1 hour by ID&T in Holland. So starting this week Armin starts at 11pm (holland time) 3pm here on the east coast. Spercial guest this week on ASOT is Lange.

I think what we are seeing right now is some of the old school labels who have not kept up with the times closing shop. It was very easy for labels to make money back in the day. I dont think Nervous folded because of downloading. Go onto any DL server like Soulseek, Kazaa, or whatever and do a search for any of the latest Nervous titles. You wont find many. Nervous has been stuck in the old NY Diva house style for too long, and never changed their image or their sound. You can't have a succesful label anymore just making music for NYC. Downloading is a very easy excuse to put the blame on right now. Dont get me wrong though. I think there needs to be something done about DL illegale MP3's, but not all labels should use that as an excuse.

It will take some time to fine tune things, I agree. Markus can't play the same set he plays on the GDJB or the same tracks he played when opening for Tiesto and AVB every week. I think he is just trying a few things to see how it goes over and builds from there. Markus is a perfectionist, so each week he will gain more confidence make the walls sway the directions he wants. The crowd definetly seems to be getting used to him. Taking over a time slot that was Oscar's for years is not easy. Oscar is a great DJ, and I know Markus respects him alot.

listening to him on 93.1, he seems to be bangin way too hard, for someone opening for Oscar. 12:30 and he is already on the horn.

and Dark Beat was this year too wasnt it? Or are we calling Dark Beat 2002? Either way Ft Laud clubs will be playing that for years to come guaranteed.
