  1. Well Opium and Crobar are definetly not the only places. To be honest, they are good on certain night depending on who the DJ is.

Other good places, Nerve, Privilidge, Space, Blue, Bed, Pearl, Joia, Tantra,

The whole being 18 thing is going to be tough.

But for more info on all of the clubs Go Here .CoolJunkie.

You can find Comp Entry (Guests List) for many clubs.

  2. All of the pictures I took have been sent to Nick of CJ to put up on the site. Bear with him since Nick is traveling in NYC and back over seas. They will be up within a few days.

And also look out for a report on Crobar NYC, from this weekend also. :D

  3. Attention,

    Tnargs,

I don't think OGMiami is working with Opium / Prive much anymore, he is just concentrating on Noctural.

and Nocturnal won't be opened yet.

Get in touch with Dgrutman for more Opium/ prive info.

    The usual places look good.

Space, Nerve, and Crobar for the birthday party.

But the party that looks really good also is at Delux, thats where I will be if I even deicde to hit up a club.:D

  7. Christmas In Hollis

    Run]

It was December 24th on Hollis Ave in the dark

When I see a man chilling with his dog in the park

I approached very slowly with my heart full of fear

Looked at his dog, oh my God, an ill reindeer

But then I was illin because the man had a beard

And a bag full of goodies, 12 o'clock had neared

So I turned my head a second and the man had gone

But he left his driver's wallet smack dead on the lawn

I picket the wallet up then I took a pause

Took out the license and it cold said "Santa Claus"

A million dollars in it, cold hundreds of G's

Enough to buy a boat and matching car with ease

But I'd never steal from Santa, cause that ain't right

So I'm going home to mail it back to him that night

But when I got home I bugged, cause under the tree

Was a letter from Santa and all the dough was for me

    [D.M.C.]

It's Christmas time in Hollis Queens

Mom's cooking chicken and collard greens

Rice and stuffing, macaroni and cheese

And Santa put gifts under Christmas trees

Decorate the house with lights at night

Snow's on the ground, snow white so bright

In the fireplace is the yule log

Beneath the mistle toe as we drink egg nog

The rhymes you hear are the rhymes of Darryl's

But each and every year we bust Chrsitmas carrols

    (Christmas melodies)

    [Run-D.M.C.]

Rhymes so loud and prod you hear it

It's Christmas time and we got the spirit

Jack Frost chillin, the ?orchas out?

And that's what Christmas is all about

The time is now, the place is here

And the whole wide world is filled with cheer

    [D.M.C.]

My name's D.M.C. with the mic in my hand

And I'm chilling and coolin just like a snowman

So open your eyes, lend us an ear

We want to say Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

  8. Student Finds Largest Known Prime Number

    Dec 11, 6:12 AM (ET)

    By JIM IRWIN

DETROIT (AP) - More than 200,000 computers spent years looking for the largest known prime number. It turned up on Michigan State University graduate student Michael Shafer's off-the-shelf PC.

"It was just a matter of time," Shafer said.

The number is 6,320,430 digits long and would need 1,400 to 1,500 pages to write out. It is more than 2 million digits larger than the previous largest known prime number.

Shafer, 26, helped find the number as a volunteer on an eight-year-old project called the Great Internet Mersenne Prime Search.

Tens of thousands of people volunteered the use of their PCs in a worldwide project that harnessed the power of 211,000 computers, in effect creating a supercomputer capable of performing 9 trillion calculations per second. Participants could run the mathematical analysis program on their computers in the background, as they worked on other tasks.

Shafer ran an ordinary Dell computer in his office for 19 days until Nov. 17, when he glanced at the screen and saw "New Mersenne prime found."

A prime number is a positive number divisible only by itself and one: 2, 3, 5, 7 and so on. Mersenne primes are a special category, expressed as 2 to the "p" power minus 1, where "p" also is a prime number.

In the case of Shafer's discovery, it was 2 to the 20,996,011th power minus 1. The find was independently verified by other participants in the project.

Mersenne primes are rare but are critical to the branch of mathematics called number theory. That said, what is the practical significance of Shafer's number?

"People are going to make posters of it to hang up on the wall," said Shafer, who is pursuing a doctorate in chemical engineering. "It's a neat accomplishment, but it really doesn't have any applicability."

As for his own standing in the world of mathematics, "I don't think I'm going to be recognized as I go down the street or anything like that."

He said the method by which the number was found - harnessing many computers together - is more important than the number itself.

"Somebody else could have found the number," he said. "You install the program on the computer and it takes care of itself." But "I get the credit, along with the people that developed the software."

    Lola and pbrane,

What is the prices like at Sublime? pretty large menu and good service?

I live really close to Sublime and drive by it all the time, I guess I need to go to it soon.

    CP dinner party @ Sublime?

  15. Congratulations and you are making as good choice of locations. Ft. Lauderdale is a great area since you are in the middle of everything. I live in Northeast Ft Lauderdale and would not want to live anyplace else.

    The clubs that are good:

Karma -decent lounge/club with house music

Voodoo- packed with people, but don’t care for it

Sutra – pretty good place have a decent house night

Bulldog - cool little place, just needs more promotion

Favorite places: Venu - for the breaks, techno, and electro parties with some house. Love the place!

Delux in Delray Beach – Great place, good DJ’s, fun times, top notch.

There is tons of other stuff to do like movies, arts, and fitness all over. The biggest thing is to live near where you are going to work. If you can avoid

I-95 in your commute, that is best.

I have friends all over from Miami to Del Ray to Weston, and you end up driving for nightlife but for every day stuff like work it is a great area. I enjoy this area since the beach is easier to use, more laid back, more open areas.

I have a friend moving in 2 weeks up here and she has lived in South Beach, now Aventura, and soon Ft Lauderdale and she can’t wait for the change for the better.

No, unfortunetly, just too far to go on a work night. But wish I could, its going to be a good night.

I actually like the club, it is a good change from SoBe clubs, but with any club there is certain things that could be better.

But I will be there Friday at Crobar. :D
