  1. I am really glad to see that some people can take criticism, use it to make them or the club better, roll with with the punches and make the best out of the situation.

Man you know what really sucks, I got these killer sneakers the Dollar store last night, and was going to rock them Saturday @ Space, I guess I am outta luck, and need to upgrade to Stride Rite or Pay Less to meet the $50 quota.

Do we need to bring the price tag with us?

  2. Different strokes for different folks. There are times when I just want to go hang with a few friends and listen to quality tunes with a great sound system. Lately I have been getting my fix at Maze and Lime Bar on Fridays, then we usually hit up some other joint later on.

There are so many places to go and many different vibes. If people are coming to Miami for a few days, my suggestion is to go to as many places as you have time. That usually means 2 or 3 places a night.

To get the "Miami experience" of the big clubs and to let loose: go to Opium / Prive and Crobar on Friday and Saturdays.

For the "IN" crowd or more of an experience go to: Sky Bar @ the Shore Club and Mynt.

If you want to chill out at a restaraunt/ lounge : Tantra, BED, Rumi, Jade. They all will have DJ's with various types of music.

One of mya favorite places to go and a good alternative to the Sobe, is Oxygen Lounge in Cocunut Grove, (about 10 miles from the beach), I always have a good time here. Thursdays and Saturdays are best.

Go to Space 34 late Saturday after you go other places, Best time to go is after 3 am, Actually that is Sunday morning.

Other places that bring in good DJ's- SPI CLUB and Nerve. Have been hit or miss with a large crowd.

For Sunday during the day just head to the beach, or go to Nikki Beach in the afternoon for sun/ music, dancing/ chillin. It is a good party to end the weekend.

No matter where you go, the chances are about 80% that you will here House music, with that said it all depends on the DJ and what you are looking for.

  3. I just love the Vibe in Lime Bar, it was great last night. I heard a couple of different point of views.

First off was why is Lime Bar bringing in big name DJ's and taking away people from Maze.

I really don't agree with that way of thinking. I think the better point of view is. If Maze and Lime Bar both keep bringing in big names on the same night, it can only make both places better.

Pictures from last night @ Lime Bar.

  4. Just from the looks of the weather and other issues with the BBQ, it looks like it is best to reschedule. I was talking to a few others Friday night and they also said that it is Damn hard to get up and be at a BBQ by 11 or 1 when we have been out partying all night till 5 or 6. So here is just a suggestion, lets do it on a day when most people are off work, like a holiday, Memorial Day is coming up soon. Hopefully this thing can work out, was looking forward to it.

  5. Luther Campbell of 2 live Crew fame has been organizing a party here for a few years now.

Campbell is calling on Miami-Dade County to step up their support for upcoming Memorial Day festivities, which have in the past brought up to 250,000 hip-hop lovers to South Beach for the three-day weekend. Campbell’s Umoja Planning Committee met with the City of Miami Beach Friday. Friday’s meeting is the latest in what has been almost a year of meetings to plan large-scale Memorial Day 2003 activities. By sitting down with municipal officials and law enforcement agencies, Campbell hopes to secure support for his group’s holiday weekend proposal to bring performers who have renown on par with South Beach’s fame. Umoja is also trying to ensure Black residents and visitors are received more congenially than in previous years.

  6. Not to put a damper in your plans, but just want to give you the heads up on what is in store for your Memorial Day weekend on South Beach. You may want to Head up to Ft . Lauderdale one night to check it out also, plenty going on there.

The previous clubs mentioned will have plenty going on, but we will also have to deal with the hip- hop crowd more.

  7. Thursday: Oxygen Lounge in Coconut Grove. Superstar DJ Ivano Bellini. Great Music and beautiful venue.

Friday: Go to Maze. Huge club. 2 killer DJ's Ralph Falcon and Jon Cowan. OPEN BAR 10-12. Then hit Opium and Prive' if you want to be at the " in" crowd. 2 different places, 2 different scenes.

Or more of a lounge/club, head over to Jade which is right by Maze.

Saturday during the day: Come out to the BBQ at South Point Park, a good time to meet allot of peeople and get some sun.. Check other threads.

Saturday: go to Chill Restaurant and Lounge around 11 .A great place to start your evening off with no cover for everyone, and a relaxing atmosphere. Everyone present will get free admission to Crobar.

then go to Crobar, and or Spi Club. Both will good and only a few blocks apart

Then head to Space34 around 4 am till noon Sunday. The old Space closed 3 weeks ago and the new Space is even better, if you can imagine. Resident DJ's this weekend, check out the rooftop patio, it is amazing.

Sunday: just go to the beach and relax and Check out Nikki Beach in the afternoon.

  8. Can't we all just get along? Don't get me wrong, I love a good discussion but this is overboard. Maze has been on the upswing lately, it is really good to see people chilln,' dancin, at a quality venue. The reason why it is so fun @ Maze is there has been very little drama, lets not ruin it.

Here is how my Friday will be. Go to Maze, and not park at the the bank on 20th so my vehicle will not get towed. Get there early to enjoy the martinis and celebrate. Listen to Jon and Ralph, or Ralph and Jon. it doesn't matter. Take some pictures. Dance my ass off. Head over to Lime Bar to chill with Matt and Oscar. Go back to Maze and repeat. Leave late and go someplace else.

That's not too hard, lets all join in.

  9. I will be there with my crew. I will be the tall blond spiky hair guy with the kickass Sony camera.

We all need to meet each other, so introduce yourself and I will be sure to get pictures of everyone.

  10. A couple of things to be mentioned.

Where is the exact, location and time frame? directions or a link to mapquest would be helpful.

I have 2 bottles of Alcohol that seem to be waiting for the right occasion, a bottle of Whiskey and Peach Schnappes, any takers or drinkers for these. I will just throw them in the supplies I'm bringin'.

I like the pool party idea the best, it is damn hot outside at 2pm, and a pool makes everyone be in a relaxing mood.

How many people we actually talking about attending? 10?20? 50? How about a roll call! or send a email to one person in charge.

  11. Hey guys. I will definetly be out to the party. Kinda new around here postting, been lurking a little bit.

A Day party sounds fun and I am always interested in meeting new people. I have no problem chipping in for stuff and will bring some food and drinks.

On the picture note, I will provide the photo coverage from the event. That way all pictures will be postted very quickly, usually within 24 hours on tilllate.com .

SO it is now called the Second Official Whysleep/CP/ tilllate B-Day BBQ

Looking forward to it, who needs sleep anyway.

If anything else is needed just email me.

  12. Maze was great on Friday. Most has been said already, I was also worried that the crowd was not going to fill the place, but around 1 am the place just blew up. People were dancing all around, even upstairs.

I second the motion from Saleen for a friendlier VIP staff, and at least a small bar in the back for the open bar time.

On a different note, what do you guys think about he hip-hop party upstairs in the room? Does it help the main room party? pros and cons? It defiantly is a change when you come up to the doors and see a large crowd outside.

The vibe in Lime Bar is always pleasant, just needs a few more people.

Also, how many of you parked at the bank on 20th and got your vehicle towed. Most Maze regulars have been parking there since it opened, totally messed up. I was doing good before that and only spent $5 for tips, but then $100 out the door. At around 3 am, it seemed like everyone moved from Maze to the towing company to get there car.

There is 50 new pictures from Friday night @ Maze and 23 pictures from Lime Bar

So is everyone taking an easy Saturday night since it is Easter on Sunday or celebrating with a Easter party at Crobar and Space
