I for one belive in Civil unions which should have some protection for Gay couples - I.E what you mentioned about hospital visitation and Home ownership and inheritence, But If you call it marriage and start giving tax benefits and social security I think you will find many men or women that live together (Room mates not lovers) taking advantage of the system. I do not think It should be called marriage and I do not think the benefits that come with a tradition marriage should be associated. But The problem is Gays and Lesbians want marriage not civil unions so the policies (as we saw on election day) will never pass. Most Gay Couples do not wish to have children (notice I said most not all) Therefore there is no reason to save for the cost of a family. I know some couples adopt and I find that admirable but again I believe the problems will out weigh the benefits. Civil Union is the way to go with this one

Yes more women voted for Bush then usual but it was 47% Bush and 52% Kerry with 1% for that other guy with the Female vote
