  1. The most consistent in the fun category are cielo and sullivan room. Spirit I disagree with gabe has nothing. They are only dependent on a big dj name showing up. Thus no party no regulars. A great sound system doesn't do enough. Crobar is most consistent when it comes to a big club excluding pacha cause I've not gone there. Love is without a doubt the dopest or could be the best depending on who's spinnin cause that place is simply amazing in every way.
  2. Are you the opener or the closer? I haven't heard you spin in a hot minute. I think since sullivan room. Can't wait for this night. Hector Romero is an amazing dj as well as yourself. Never heard cevin fisher but definetely have heard his tracks. Can't wait!
  3. If she's into d'n'b and breakbeats why spin house? If you want a house dj why not hire any of the great dj's that spin house in ny already?
  4. David Morales is technically proficient but his track selection is not up to par. I enjoyed him last time as the vibe was just right. Reminded me of Roger S when he spins but last sat reminded me of a any dj. The tracks he played were no different than what a boris plays except he had immense skill in the effects and asthetics of the sound. The sound system was also not up to par. It was overdriven and muddy. The opener also was horrible. The owners or people hired to bring in talent should consider getting better dj's to open up for Morales. Yes he is a legend and should deserve having a superb up and coming dj or more underground vibing dj like a lola, eddie lee etc... So much talent is out there already playing sullivan room and other rooms they should expand there minds instead of having a guy who played a song nonetheless 4 times in one night. Something put your hands up I think by mary j blige. Added to the bummed out night. David Morales is a legend but being a legend is not enough. Technical skill is not enough either. Track selection and keeping a sexy or vibing edge is also a key for success. He is not only respected by the mainstream but he has respect and roots with the deep soulful heads as well. If he found a sound that appealed to both crowds maybe he could maintain a better vibe in my opinion. Banging tracks are good and working them are key also but bring the vibe up also. Start deep and don't be afraid of filtering the edge of soul into your sets. As for pacha never been there and never heard harry romero.
  5. Most of his house is uplifting. That's probably why. The halloween party was the best one I been to all year long. Had a blast! I'm sure now he's rockin some new music so it should be interesting!!!!
  6. I enjoyed the electro they were dropping amongst the great house tunes. So deep yet so mastered. Definetely an interesting night with both interchanging on the decks. The energy level was pretty high all night but I'm sure all that booze being drunk had to do with that also. hehe Happy New Years!
  7. If I didn't work in the morning I would be at love without a doubt. After that video you posted gabe I have to go see him.
  8. This was probably one of the best nights I've had at sullivan room all year long. It was the best fuck it. These 4 dj's should spin together more often. Great great night.
  9. Shit I don't know if it is just music sets or vibes but the first time cox spun at crobar on st patricks day comes to mind and when roger sanchez spun on halloween weekend at crobar was also an ill night. I would say that there were other factors involved like the holidays themselves but I had a total blast both nights. I enjoyed Morales the last time he spun at crobar also dec 3rd but didn't hear him any other time or few time cause he usually spins when ted patterson spins who is the most consistent dj when it comes to putting on great nights of music in my opinion right now. This is at least coming from the dj's that I listen to playing the music that I enjoy.
  10. He played love and happiness that deserves at thumbs up. But def not chicago house. But one of my favorites nonetheless.
  11. Between this party and cielo it's gonna be a hot weekend! DJ lola forget about it! Gabe don't drink too much. haha
  12. Some dj's use programs to create mixes. He's not talking about the recording of the mix aspect.
  13. Hmm I say 5 out 5. Ok morales wasn't playing only masterful tracks like patterson or DT. I understand that. But just watch how he was working the tracks and dropping vocals over tracks and using filters. The man is simply insane! I heard him many times this year and I did not enjoy him. Last night I enjoyed him more than DT and Sanchez my faves. Yes I understand the backlash against "guidos". Whatever. The truth is you go and you dance your ass off. I'll take yesterdays great vibe and masterful skills over someone simply playing masterful great tracks. It's not just how great your music is its what you do with it. And this man simply can work music. I had a blast and I can't wait to hear him again!
  14. I'll wait for him to spin somewhere else. Wish he would do love instead or even a shelter type place. Deep whatever....
  15. Hello I don't know if you were who played this but I'll give it a shot. It was try yazz by two without hats but then again it might have been sampled. It was some electro version. Shit was so hot! Please drop the id or pm me. Great music you played. You have to play a full night soon so we can go check you spin again.
  16. Halloween is about dressing up and having fun. Of course DT. Last year boo yourself was fun and I actually had more fun at that one then the one at arc cause at arc hardly anyone was dressed up.
  17. I was happy to hear DJ Chus/Dformation - that feeling take over vox mix. Also that aeiou song from the 80's totally triballed out was killa. Such a great mixture of people. Had a blast. It was great seeing mike I hadn't seen him in a long time! You gotta come out more often man!
  18. Once Victor took the decks it was over. I enjoyed victor way more than cox. Actually once Cox started infiltrating some tribal rhythms I really started feelin it. I agree with Arg I find electro to be somewhat monotonous but I don't go chasing after it to complain about it later. If you don't like tribal drums then victor is not your way to go. As for me night was totally ill and VC was totally on!
  19. I would love to hear david waxman to see how he can really play. Or to see if or how he changes from his blah sound at crobar. Derrick May and any francios K I would definetely check out after listening to them together last time.
  20. This was an amazing night. We all danced like there was no tomorrow. Best night I had all year. When he started workin those tracks after 7 it was all over. Left at 9. Great vibe in our corner.
  21. Never heard him spin. Gonna check this out. Lesouk is a fun place irrigardless. Especially the residents and the drummer in there.
