  1. i would love to see cosmic gate again, that time at exit was awesome. there hasn't really been a hard trance sound in the city lately, or at all for that matter short of scott project coming to town, but that was a while ago too. i think they would def draw a good crowd. i would vote roxy as being the venue, i love it there. def no to avalon, maybe spirit, not crobar, too much gayness there (not literally, well a little actually too)

  2. I am with that group, the problem is everyone wants to be a dj these days, sooo therefore, almost wherever you go, you are going to hear the same music, and half these wannabe djays all download their music and dont pay a dime for it.... Everyones playing the same shit, no one record shops, who the hell wants to go out and hear the same garbage house music everyweek that every kid is playing? I dont and thats why I dont go out much anymore, or only go see select dj's.

Everyone needs to stop with the old/classic shit as well. You think thats what the people want to hear, well guess what, if you actually spend time in a record store and play new jams, people will forget about wanting to hear the old shit, they only want to hear the old shit because your new slections suck. LISTEN, SHOP, BUY. Fucking download crusaders, half these new djays probably dont even own turntables!

    So besdies all that

house music is dead right now..

(you can thank tired wannabe cd dj's. and the fact that things change.)

i was gonna agree with where you were going until you said that house music is dead right now. it's far from dead. it's dead at the jersey shore that's for sure.

actually going off on a tangeant all these denny supporters were up at arms about how tempts is not really getting packed anymore. i'll tell you whey it's not getting packed, cause his track selection sucks. i was there this past saturday cause we got there really late and xs was crowded (i don't go there for the music btw) so we ended up going into tempts. it didn't get packed all night and the music didn't get good all night. if you're not gonna spin hip hop and stay "true" to house music, fucking make sure the tracks you're playing are on target. he was playing stuff that was over a year old, i mean cmon. if i wanna get ass im gonna head to xs, haha rhymes, but if i wanted to hear good house music it sure as hell wasn't at tempts.

and if i hear that pump it up song one more time im gonna flip out.

  3. although i liked the night i think he was better the first time around. i felt that he lost steam as the night went on. i got in around 1230 or so and he was on the way up energy wise. he did play some sick tribal stuff around the middle of the night, one track in particular was insane, the drums on it were crazy. anyway, still a good night, loved how it cleared out after a while so i could dance my ass off.

  4. it's sad how the two places with the better music are not doing well, meanwhile xs and bamboo are packed out every weekend.

im not gonna say anything about xs though, i've been there on a couple nights and have had a good time, i mean they're doing what sells. it sucks though when the dancefloor is pakced when they're blasting hip hop but as soon as a house track comes on it empties out.

don't get me started on bamboo, the music is ass, awful crowd, the drinks are a little cheaper, so i mostly stop by there to get a few and bounce. it's funny cause you still bump into hot girls in there but for the life of me i don't know what attracts them there, it's def not the male population that you see walking around.

maybe next tiem i'll hit up that place with a pair of old navy carpenter pants to fit in more.

  5. at least other places in seaside have a decent crowd (im not saying good, just clean and mostly good looking most of the time), the crowd at bamboo is always what you see walking around the streets.

  6. no need to get so hostile, if you wanna blow a 100 bucks a night to see one dj then go right ahead. my problem was mostly with this afterparty. i could understand if it was free and only the original ticketholders could get in. but when you're charging another 25 bucks for it (in advance i think that's what it was) you could at least open it up to people that can't make it out to central. there's no way im showing up at spirit at like 11 and trying to get in, most likely not, and paying 40 bucks to do so.

hope everyone has fun, it does seem really cool to have it be outside, im gonna find out when armin comes to town in august.

  7. i can't even make it out to central park cause of work, and i would go to spirit but, aha, i can't, fuckers. don't even get me started on the almost 9 bucks you pay in fees to get the damn tickets online, and im the one printing them, wtf are you charging me 9 bucks for, aghhh.

  8. despite the fact that avalon is the worst venue ever for an event of that size, i would say that i still had a pretty good time. the negatives of the night for me were the fact that i couldn't move, obvious, and that it was a billion fucking degrees in there. my salvation was the hip hop room, we chilled in there for the remainder of the night as it was about 15 degrees cooler in there than in the main room. there was a speaker right next to us so we were all set.

and i wouldn't go as far as to say that tiesto's set was crap, it wasn't his best performance that's for sure but the music was still good. i did notice that he played a lot of older stuff, but that was pretty cool just to hear them on a big system. i only heard him trainwreck once, when i was on the main floor, the others i was probably walking around and just didn't notice if there were any, but i def didn't expect that from him. it wasn't even that it was off beat, that shit was way off.

anyone notice that the crowd was A LOT different than the crowd he would pull in at roxy for example. it seemed like a good 60% of the people probably wouldn't even know who tiesto was. there were a ton of people dressed up, which for an event like this is kinda weird to see. i wore a button up just so i didn't have to deal with door gayness, since i saw posts on here like oh there's a dress code for tonight too. it's fucking tiesto, i wanted to wear my track pants and dance my ass off not get decked out like im going to a lounge. anyway i just noticed that im rambling on and on, good night, def would not do it again in a venue as small as avalon.
