  1. I totally wasn't planning on going to Avalon, but after having a few vodka tonics at a boring bar on the lower West side, I changed my mind on the spur of the moment. And what an insane night...showed up at 1, and the line was wrapped around past the courtyard, but it moved fast and we got in by 1:30. The club was, as expected, extremely hot, smelly and packed like a sardine can. Nevertheless, I still had a great time...walked right into VIP (there was no one regulating apparently) and found a little more room to dance...spent about half the night on the dance floor, pretty much sandwiched in between girls...I definitely agree with the other posts about the crowd sucking. Also the fat drag queens' area on the main level honestly takes up about 1/4 of the dance space, Avalon what are you thinking???? But anyway what saved the night was Ferry - I saw him last year at Avalon and this was in my opinion just as good a set...I was so wasted so I don't remember much, but he did play Adagio for Strings, Binary Finary, Right of Way, BT - Somnambulist (great track!), and Rock your Body Rock (had the place jumping). Ended up leaving the club around 5, was gonna go to Morillo @ Disco but thought better of it, I don't think I wouldve lasted an hour in the shape I was in...overall a great night, I hope Ferry considers playing at Crobar next time he comes to NYC.
  2. I saw Ferry @ Avalon last November, and he blew my mind...dropped bomb after bomb and had the place jumping all night/morning...meeting him in VIP was the best part of the night - he is the coolest guy in the world, so down to earth, just laughing and having drinks with us club kids...Ferry's da man!
  3. Agreed...the dumb girls spent the entire hour bitching about their "boyfriends" that never seem to acknowledge they exist. Way to go MTV, another hit!
  4. I hope this beats the True Life about Seaside Tommy and his time share....that was absolutely hilarious. Getting shitfaced, chasing girls (unsuccessfully), and finally ending the night by trying to get in fights over cheeseballs...classic television.

  6. I agree with you there...I used to do the mega DJ/megaclub on Trancegiving, but their always packed like sardines. I stick to the local bars (which always end up being high school reunions) on Thanx eve these days...save club nights for off-nights, and enjoy the dance space.
  7. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this thread...DT & Exit/IKON?? I never thought DT would ever play this venue, but he's always full of surprises. I think he's going to hate the sound system, but when was the last time he's played for this many people at a club in NY??? This will be one night not to miss...
  8. I completely agree with you...that was one of the best club nights I ever had. When he dropped U2's "Streets have no name" the place went absolutely nuts. Since then, I've seen Oakie at Exit and Centro, and his sets have gotten worse and worse...
  9. I agree...haven't seen DT alone since 4th of July at Roxy, which was sick
  10. Ouch! But isn't that Louie Devito in your avatar?
  11. man, this thread got off-topic...
  12. hoping to catch Ferry at Avalon and if my legs allow me, make it for a few hours of Morillo @ Disco...
  13. Went to Trust last week, it was ok. This is the place thats supposed to have NYC's first AWOL (alcohol without liquor) machine that vaporizes alcohol. Id didn't see it though when I was there. Had to take a cargo elevator to go upstairs, theres a downstairs too. Very ethnic crowd, nice decor, expensive drinks, music was pretty blah...hip hop for suburbanites. Meat Packing is definitely hot, theres tons of young people. Havent found any clubs yet though...
  14. Nice review Deepspell...looks like the nice spot on my lounge hitlist. Where exactly is this place?
  15. Cox is all over the place, thats why he's one of my faves...listen to his Essential Mix from Space in Ibiza. He plays funky house on the Terrace, then goes inside to spin hard, dirty tech-house. He can adapt to any crowd or venue, thats why he's the best. My .02
  16. Where will this be?? - Miami I'm guessing...
  17. NYC Underground and Paul Oakenfold - Perfecto Presents Another World...
  18. Went to JP's classics night earlier this year at Black, and had a great time, despite the cheez factor. I'm sure he'll recycle a lot of these... 19. This will be my first time seeing Tiesto...can't wait! Hopefully it doesn't pour like PVD earlier this summer...
  20. Second to last Be Yourself party at Arc (Classics Night). Got in when Behrouz was opening around 1 AM, and danced my ass off to Danny all morning. Danny dropped Nightmare around 8 or 9, I remember stumbling out of the 6 Hubert street entrance and into the blinding sunlight around 11:30 Am. Got a few hours of sleep, then went to JP Classics night at Black from open until 7 AM. I was wiped, but an unforgettable weekend.
  21. Thank you all for your help!! I can't wait to hit some of these places up...London then Ibiza in '05...
