SATURDAY ARPIL 3RD BLKMARKET MEMBERSHIP presents MOBILEE LABEL SHOWCASE On Saturday April 3rd, Blkmarket Membership bring's another special show right to your doorstep. This event marks the very first collaboration and Blkmarket Membership debut with Mobilee and also with whatpeopleplay.com digital downloads. Headed by label boss Anja Schneider, this Mobilee showcase features the awesome Sebo K as well as an extended set by New York favorites Pan-Pot. Anja Schneider's Mobilee imprint is very popular label in this industry. She has cultivated quite a roster of talent which she see's in her mind to be some of the brightest. She has pushed them in challenging directions to develop their artist careers as DJ's, producers and members of the Mobilee family. Mobilee boasts a roster featuring Sebo K, Pan-Pot, GummiHz, Marcin Czubala, Exercise One, Miss Jools, And.Id, Dan Curtin and now recently added Martin Landsky. With over fifty plus releases on her label, we think its going to be one that will be around for quite sometime. Sebo K first caught our attention in WMC a few years back when we saw him take Miami by storm for the first time. His mixing and wide range of music put him in the spotlight as an artist to look out for. His tracks have been canned by from everyone Loco Dice, Richie Hawtin, Steve Bug, Dixon and M.A.N.D.Y just to name a few. Hes been on very heavy touring schedule since then and it doesn't look like its going to stop anytime soon. Check out his latest Watergate mix compilation, from his residency at Watergate in Berlin. We are very excited to have him for his Blkmarket Membership debut. Give Pan-Pot an extended set and they will sure to please. This was the case a few years back when the played for Minimoo and really tore the place apart. Their sets fuse everything and in between, keep things dark and heady. We don't need to say much about these guys other than they are superb duo. Combining both a live / DJ show at once, these guys will really take you on a twisted journey. SATURDAY MARCH 20TH BLKMARKET MEMBERSHIP presents CADENZA LABEL SHOWCASE Blkmarket Membership welcomes Luciano's Cadenza label back to New York on Saturday March 20, 2010 for a very special showcase. Reboot, Robert Dietz and Serafin (who is also 1/2 of Mountain People) are not new to Blkmarket Membership. All have played previously for us but for this event, we have brought all of them together for a proper bash! Cadenza is one of the leading labels in the industry and it's roster boasts quite an A-list of talent. It's a label which pops up in our record bags on many occasions. From older records, to even some of the most recent ones, It's a label that brings a lot of feeling to the dance floor. This past August, we brought Reboot for his debut live perfomance in NY, and it was one of the most anticipated shows that people had been waiting to see in this city. Reboot is a very talented individual with a very busy and packed touring schedule due to him being so in demand at the moment. We are pleased he is able to stop over to play for us once again. He has become an artist to watch, both for his live shows as well as his marathon DJ sets. We have asked him to come and DJ for us on this leg of his tour. Robert Dietz has blown up since his Cecille recording days. His tracks and remixes on labels such as Cecille, Deep Vibes, Running Back and Air London have been canned consistently by Villalobos, Richie Hawtin, Sven Vath and Luciano just to name a few. In our eyes, he is an amazing DJ who knows how to read a crowd well. Remember the name Serafin when the Cadenza label first started? Its been a while since he has used that moniker as over the last few years, he has teamed up with Rozzo (aka Peter Dildo) to form Mountain People. They have also launched their self titled record label that is all about the deep, loopy, summery grooves. Almost all the tracks have been in heavy rotation in our DJ sets and its definitely also one of our favorite labels. This past December Mountain People debuted at our party and on March 20th we debut Serafin on his own. He frequented the legendary club Twilo and Vinyl almost every Friday until its closing in 2001. In a short time as a DJ, he has piled up an impressive resume with a residency at New York's famed club Arc (formerly Vinyl), played some of the best clubs throughout the world and has worked alongside many of the scene's most revered DJs. He is also one of the co-founders of ROBOTS, a techno collaboration that hosted some of New York City's most successful club events. Since 2004, the group has pulled together an impressive list of guests and headliners including Sven Vath, Francois K, Luciano, Ellen Allien, Radioactive Man, Tiefschwarz, Michael Mayer, Superpitcher, Three, Mike Shannon, Run Stop Restore, Matthew Dear and the list goes on… and on. JUNCTION SM is SONJA MOONEAR and DANDY JACK live/dj project based on a non-stop and improvised combination of sounds. This explosive combo manages a perfect mixture of DANDY JACKs sophisticated rhythms & sounds and SONJA MOONEARs fine records selection. THE SHOW is a minimum 3 hours perfect mixture of DANDY JACKs live improvisation and SONJAs record selection. Jacks sets are routed through 2 channels of sonjas dj mixer in order to let her control the whole given sound. She can use his sounds as an additional source to her records, but also filter, cut or edit it with several effects. She pitches her records to Dandys live set. The link between both of them and the public is the oxygen of their performance. Depending on the development of the night, Dandy Jack can reload new sets while Sonja is taking over the dance floor, or she slows down her inputs and let Jack performing solo. Out of this chemistry comes a wonderful tension that drives the night till the early hours. Both actors inputs are generating such a generous and various sound flow that it gives the impression of a perpetual live production. You will never recognize any pieces, or have any repetition between the sets. The frontier between live sets and records just vanishes. The audience gets lost in trying to know who does what and its more fun for everybody. The ultimate collection of musical oddballs and misfits known as the Rebel Rave Crew have been responsible for some of the most exciting sounds in recent dance music, both behind the decks and as cutting edge producers. Birthdays only come once a year, and the Blkmarket Membership boys are at it again. Last month we saw resident DJ Fahad Haider celebrate his bday in style with the secretsundaze party, this month we celebrate resident DJ Taimur Agha's birthday with a very special cast of characters who have been invited to come and play his 29th. Will Saul is the man behind two very successful record labels, Simple & AUS Music. His sound can be catagorized as deep dubsidscohousetechno with spurts of soul and great melodies. In 2005 Will Saul created Simple records to reflect an open-minded intention to release good futuristic house and techno for the deeper end of the dancefloor. In about 6 years Simple records has had over 50 releases and remixes by top talents such as Jeff Samuel, Gui Boratto, Isolee, Konrad Black, Jimpster, Roman Flugel, Dixon, Martin Landsky, I:Cube and many more. Will's AUS Music label was born in 2006. Teaming up with Ninja Tune's artist Fink on the label, this label focuses more on the experimental side of house, techno, electro, dub and dubstep. Artists like Lee Jones, Runaway, Martyn, Ramadanman, Brun from Swayzak are just a few to release records on the label. Both labels have been in constant rotation in Blkmarket Membership's record bags for quite sometime now and its been a long time coming that we have wanted Will to play for us. His latest Balance 15 3xCD mix just goes to show what a talented DJ Will is and how he incorporates all types of music into the soundtrack for this excellent 3xCD mix set. We highly recommend checking it out as its simply amazing. This event will mark his Balance 15 CD release party as well as his New York Debut. Margaret Dygas is considerably one of the world's leading ladies in techno. Her Contexterrior release 'Day After' in 2007 put her in the spotlight and was followed by 2 well received releases such as 'See You Around' on Tobias's label Non Standard Productions, and 'Invisible Circles' on one of our favorite labels, Perlon. We have been hearing her name for quite sometime now in the DJ circuit and many can speak to say that her sets are truly fantastic. She's a resident at Panorama bar and for this past New Years Eve, she was one of the 3 headlining acts alongside Zip and Ricardo Villalobos at Arma 17 in Moscow, Russia. We are very excited to finally have her play our party. This will mark her U.S Debut and only Exclusive date. Be warned, that she is going to blow your minds...seriously. Matt Tolfrey has been a long time friend of the Blkmarket Membership family, regularly coming to play gigs here with us. If you last remember at our Mariachi party where Tolfrey headlined, he surely rocked the house. Label boss of Leftroom records and the sublabel Leftout, Matt is one of the growing talents to come out of the UK. A frequent guest DJ at Fabric London, Matt is usually asked to play alongside Craig Richards as well as the duo Tyrant. Along with his studio partner Inxec, They both have been signed to Cocoon Recs, Viva Music, Murmur and Phonica record labels just to name a few. He career is on the rise, and just recently for New Years Eve, he was asked to play the Cocoon NYE bash by Cocoon alongside Sven Vath, Cassy, Andre Galluzi, Yousef and Dorian Paic. Not a bad way to kick into 2010! We are really proud to bring Matt Tolfrey back as our special guest for this night. Be also on the look out for his and Dyed Soundorom's new bootleg label coming up entitled Foot & Mouth. Anthony Collins is one of the main artists on the Freak n Chic roster alongside Dan Ghenacia, Dyed Soundorom and Shonky. Anthony gained alot of popularity last time around in NYC for his debut. Despite the main event not being able to happen, it was the 9+ hour DJ set he played that left a mark on all techno fans in this city at the afterhours. We have asked him to come back in just a short time since then and to make up the past main event. He's been on fire recently, having releases on labels such as Vakant, Liebe*Detail, Tuning Spork, Curle Recordings, and Mule Electronic just to name a few. Los Updates had asked him to remix Ricardo Villalobos's new track coming out on their label Nice Cat and we must say that it is massive. Larry Ursini in the words of Halcyon owner Shawn Schwartz, "Normally, you don’t get to walk around in this town, a fresh transplant from Denver sporting pink hair and turquoise striped short-shorts calling yourself “Crazy†without being punched in the face, yet somehow Larry has pulled off just that unlikely feat for a whole year now." DJ Koze aka Stefan Kozalla has been a long time musician. He has had some very rather interesting project such as running his early hip-hop outfit Fischmob, to becoming electronica's Adolf Noise, to his electronic band International Pony and still to this day, being DJ Koze. 'Thinking outside the box' has been Koze's motto since the start and it is why he has been under our radar now for a long time now. It is quite hard at first to understand his music as it seems rather odd, different and plain simply weird. But If you really put your head to it, its something fresh and different, not pigeon holing himself to one sound or one trend. A former turntable champion for many many years, Koze is a true turntable wizard and pioneer. This year he was voted by Resident Advisor as #16 best DJ in the world. His 'Reincarnations' compilation on Get Physical was voted #3 best in the world also by RA. His records have been staples in Blkmarket Membership DJ sets and we are very proud to have such a talent playing an extended 5 hour DJ set for us to mark his New York Debut. Three has been part of the Blkmarket Membership family for quite some time since we first started. His recent 5 hour closing set at our Sasha event turned many heads. We definitely have to say it was the best set out of 2009 for us and I think many could say the same. Smart, intelligent and ahead of the pack. Dear Friends, its with great sadness that we have to mention this, but Andrew Weatherall was denied his work visa to come to the U.S. This is something we really were looking forward to but now for the 2nd time that we have tried to book him, its not possible once again. But fear not, we have put together something for all of you that will still get your grooving. We have asked Bill Patrick who is on tour now in the US, to come and take Weatherall's place and do an extended set for us. Here is some info about our boy wonder. Over the past few years, Bill Patrick has made his way onto playing prestige clubs and nights such as Cocoon Club in Frankfurt, Fabric London, Circo Loco @ Dc-10 Ibiza, Sunwaves festival Romania, End Up San Francisco and lets not forget the orginal Tresor club in Berlin. Bill was one of the co-founders of ROBOTS New York, which was a staple for us at Blk|market Membership and it brought a resurrection to techno nights in New York. It was ROBOTS that influenced Blkmarket Membership to become what it is today. Bill is currently a resident at Weekend Club Berlin (www.week-end-berlin.de) and is soon launching his first cd compilation for the club. Bill also has formed a great partnership with Lee Burridge and together you can find them playing special back to back dj sets together in a select number of cities and countries! On Sept 27th, Blkmarket Membership brings you a very special DAYTIME Mariachi themed party with Matt Tolfrey from London. Get your MOUSTACHES, SOMBREROS, MARACAS and PANCHOS ready as this is what our daytime party is all about! Matt Tolfrey is a name that you will be hearing alot of. Label boss of Leftroom / Leftout recordings, Matt runs 2 of the UK's most successful labels out there. A regular at Fabric London, Matt always is asked to play alongside Craig Richards and Tyrant on a constant basis. Along with his studio partner Inxec, They both have recently been signed to Coccon Recs, Viva Music and Murmur record labels just to name a few. Sasha's excession booking agency has picked him up and so has Am only. He is a fantastic DJ and a very good friend of ours as well. This will be his third time playing for Blkmarket Membership and what better way than to go with a theme. Also added onto the lineup is Monomachine who hails from Chile. Monomachine also so happens to be on Matt Tolfrey's label Leftout. This will be his New York Debut and we are looking forward to having them paired up for this event. On Sept 18 Blk|market Membership brings you yet another special night. Clive Henry is a name that has been around for quite some time. Currently a resident for the famous Circo Loco parties, he is also one half of Peace Division alongside Justin Drake. With a slew of remixes and releases from the late 90's to present, Its safe to say that Peace Division has been a very common name known to everyone. Their dark and tribal sound has been canned by all the big players in the Industry such as Steve Lawler, Danny Tenaglia, Ricardo Villalobos, Sasha & Digweed, Craig Richards and Lee Burridge just to name a few. Probably the biggest track that made an impact on us until today is 'Roaches' by Peace Division. Melon is a name that you will be hearing much more of now. One of the forerunners in the Dutch scene, Melon produces under his own name, Don Melon and Je Davu on Platzhirsch. We dont have to go much into detail, but if both Ricardo Villalobos and Tobi Neumann have named him their favorite Dj, that to us is a pretty big statement. This will be his NYC debut and he is definetly going to make many new fans here in our great city. Kabuto & Koji hail from Costa Rica where they have ran an 8 year residency and shared the decks with many big names that fly into their city San Jose. They have recently been signed onto Sven Vath's Cocoon Imprint, Audiofly's Supernature record label and also have recently been featured on Jim River's Global Underground Nubreed cd. Expect nothing short of some of the freshest sounds you will find out there. Lets see what tricks the boys have up their sleeve! The powerful Inxec who is a main artist on Jay Haze's Contexterrior imprint will be making his New York Debut on this date.
