  1. PVD #1 ? "The man" of the conference? ahhaha...come on guys.....I can tell u didn't check out Deep Dish, Morillo at Space...and Tenaglia at Ultra.......you think Trance is #1? lol..get real people !
  2. Personally...the best party I attended were the Deep Dish party at Space....I waited 4 hours in line...but I got in around 8am and didn't leave until 1pm.....the DJs were jumping with in the booth (ESPECIALLY Shahram)...they even had pizzas for the crowd....it was a great vibe !!! The Radio 1 party at Nikki's was amazing also.......beautiful weather great music.......nice crowd....and nice VIP ;-) Of course, I cannot leave out the Morillo party at Space.....I mean....even DJs like Tenaglia and Deep Dish showed up for Erick....that's definitely a sign of respect. As far as I am concerned, I like Morillo....but his music just sounds immature next to DT and DD. Finally....the best piece of music I heard was the last 1h30 of Tenaglia's set at Ultra........it was soooo deeep....i mean....his music is simply INTELLIGENT. It was my 2nd WMC...and I can't wait for the next one...seems to get better every year. peace out
  3. Nobody is forcing anyone to love DT...we are simply expressing opinions...anything wrong with that? Those who think so, you are welcome to write somewhere else. About DT...we all have different experiences...and form opinions accordingly.....BUT....when the most famous names of house music keep mentioning DT as their mentor...you need to pay attention. It's not a coincidence if Deep Dish, Saeed&Palash, Howells, Lawler etc..ALL look up to DT. There must be a reason....and that's for you to figure out. By the way, Tenaglia has been around for long....he's amongst the DJs that brought NYC's house scene to life. To whoever that said that DT is not famous outside NYC, Miami and Ibiza....well my friend, unless you're blind....those 3 cities are pretty much references around the world in terms of party scene. Also, DT isn't exactly the guy who looks for fame....often times, he comes in town but it's not advertized. As you should know, DT is very dedicated and loyal to his people...(or used to be)....he used to spin EVERY friday night at the same place...that doesn't leave much time for traveling, does it? On the other hand...you have DJs like Deep Dish (who I love) who are famous everywhere they go....but fail to be loyal to their hometown (DC)...if u ask me, that's not very good either. Like I said...last year, "Be yourself at Arc" was ahead of all clubnights around the country...better than big clubs like Space.......now u figure out why. By the way....DT is not the king of EDM...but House music.....BIG difference.
  4. DJing isn't the same accross all DJs...DT has his style...he takes you on a real journey....his music is deep, sexy, tribal....he creates a great vibe...he's very communicative with the crowd ...he's very passionate...he's exremely creative...his sets are always different...man, for someone to spin marathon sets and impress every time without being repetitive....it takes a lot of imagination. HIs nickname of "the DJs' DJ" is truly well deserved. He's no other than THE reference in the house music scene. I just saw him 2-3 weeks ago for about 11 hours at Spirit in NY....he never ceases to surprise. The club where he used to reside most recently, Arc, had NO liquor licence and the venue was far from impressive...but who cares, DT was there...the place was always packed and until late...no motive other than DT's music...driving to NY (from DC) just for the night to catch him was always worthwhile. Last year, "Be Yourself at Arc" (DT's night) was voted best clubnight of the year... You have to experience a marathon set of his to understand...which is why I've never seen his name at a party like Ultra...where djs only play for a short time...it wouldn't fit DT's style at all.
  5. Saeed is actually softer than Palash in my opinion. I personally prefer Saeed although I also like Palash......
  6. nobody compares to DT.......NOBODY, understood?
  7. I'll have to say that if u are a house music fan (personally I am), then after Ultra, I suggest u check out Space (rather in the morning) for the Yoshi party with Deep Dish, Howells etc. U can't match that. I respect Carl Cox...I've seen him at least half a dozen times....he's amazing...but the venue doesn't compare to Space....and the party won't last as long.
  8. Anyone seen his name on any lineups? I can't conceive him not being present at the WMC.....he better play at Space on saturday (with DD)....or at LEAST at Ultra.
  9. Ultra...then relax....take a break for a few hours...then to the terrace at Space for Deep Dish....and hopefully a surprise headliner like Tenaglia? Cattaneo? (G-od...are u listening? !)
  10. You guys try to compare Ultra with "smaller venues"...lol. It's a complete different frame of mind when you go to Ultra....for one, you cannot expect to get deep into the various sets you'll hear.....for two...it's an outdoor party, not a club. There are pros and cons as always. The fact that it's outdoor changes everything in my opinion...you can venture in many areas...it's like a little adventure. You can lay down on the grass if you need....can you do that at a club? you lay down...bouncers will kick u out. In terms of space....well...yeah...more people but also more space...and u NEVER feel like sardines...in a club, it's a different story. Also...the sound is very special...that amphitheatre at Ultra is very nice I think.....the different stages.......not worth it? If u dont like big crowds + what I just described...then i can understand...otherwise...you are just making excuses for not paying the ticket.
  11. I heard they were having problems even before Arc closed down...it was just a matter of time. They are definitely going their ways...Palash came out with a CD already.
  12. CC spins with 3 turntables...and he's passionate about his music...communicates with crowd etc....I can't count the number of times I've seen him....too bad in the US, he's not as recognized by the average partier...
  13. that simply shows their popularity....nothing wrong with that, is there?
  14. best parties for me....was 2 years ...the opening night at Space with Tenaglia (marathon set)....and the saturday night after Ultra with Deep Dish.....danced in the rain on the rooftop....my God...memorable.
  15. what does nv stand for? DT should spin at Space again...he was fantastic 2 year ago....as for Deep Dish...those who don't like them aren't usually progressive house fans.....so I don't blame you.
  16. Could someone PLEASE reassure me and tell me that those guys will be playing somewhere during the WMC........Tenaglia played a memorable set for the opening party 2 years ago at Space......... what about Deep Dish? It would be a disgrace if they didn't show up.... I have yet to see a lineup that include those guys...and I'm about to lose it here!
