  1. It's all very weak. The young professional crowd those places attract are going to be less likely to move into the new condos. Hoboken/Jersey City have it right- there should be nightlife to attract the kind of people that will keep pumping money into the city. New Brunswick doesn't have to be a college town.
  2. I used to work at an aforementioned club... Promoters asked for friends' numbers for random sampling... Pretty much everyone complied... My friends got pissed after like 3 in one day came over- so they texted back. It got them off the list...
  3. I've been a bartender for 5 years now. Cops leave you alone when you are in the town of the bar you work in and some cops are mad cool. But most have a hard on for busting kids. They look for reasons to pull you over and slap ridiculous tickets on you even if you are the DD... I'm fine with them pulling people over if it was to make sure everyone was safe, but it's just not the case...
  4. I got a DUI in Belmar last summer- and I wasn't even there... Could be an all time bonehead move... Never let anyone talk you into driving, especially if they are too drunk to remember where they live. That should be a PSA lol
  5. It's like Jerseyclubbin has never seen MTV's Summershare when Tommy wore his cheesy Kangol hat and dress whites...
  6. Of course I know him. He's my second cousin, a generation removed- Mike Dirt. About time he caught a trim his hair was out of control...
  7. Anyone hit Deko on Saturday? How was it?
  8. Katmandu is a great place to go after work if you work in Trenton. I wouldn't go into Trenton if you work in Princeton though... Trenton is a dump! (I work here). The Kat has a solid HH spread- food and drinks ouside and in, and lots of promos there from Bands and Radio Stations, etc. Good Happy Hour place for young professionals in Princeton- Triumph Brewery if you are on Nassau St or near there. On Rt 1, I like Big Fish for the same type of crowd (small bar, but alot of young professionals). Worst comes to worst, theres TGIF in the same plaza...
  9. Ice was pretty bad... DJ Jazzy Jeff was there though and he put on a good show (not everyone's favorite on these boards, but entertaining none the less). Biggest gripe - VIP treatment my a$$! There was more VIP space than regular space. At least 4-5 roped off areas in each room. What's the point?
  10. Couldn't handle any more than 9 am. It was already light out and I had to see the War Pig I brought home! lol
  11. "just ht up drais, best clubs in vegas" Amen bro! I LIKED the Ghost Bar, Rain, and Ice- but the experience is at Drais! BTW- anyone else notice that Ice was ALL asian people? I was there with my boy (who's Korean) and kept asking him why his cousins were ignoring him...
  12. seriously- that was a tease. Where are the bootlegs??? Vida is unreal hot. My friends knew her in HS (Perth Amboy), they said she wasn't all that and she's a little older than she says now, but her pictures speak for themselves!
  13. Can be kinda dead. BYOF (Bring your own friends!)- But I like the embiance..
  14. Drais late nite! Party til 9 am... Solid. Forget the hype of all the clubs out there, this was the Vegas experience! Not beautiful (but gaudy) like the other places out there, but the party doesn't stop here- EVER! Where is the Coke smilie? lol
  15. That Hansel- he's so hot right now. Danzel. Are you not aware I get farty and bloated from a foamy latte?
  16. Nope. Lounge right next door in New Brunswick. Same owners as Platinum. Went there with my girl a couple of times back in December. Nice place, very cozy, good tunes. http://www.glonj.com/
  17. Cards are nice, but I like the dice! No offense, but poker players trade war stories like others' jaws will drop. Fact of the matter is you win or lose and you learn, there are no outrageous stories out there. What I HATE to hear about, and we've all seen, is someone who knew how to play get beat by a rook and then complain about it (I know that's not what you are talking about here, but still worth noting). It's like the guy who took a hit at the BJ table holding 14 and dealer showing 6. Then the guy sitting next to him complains when the dealer pulls a 5....
  18. Pregame it at Glo. Nice place to meet up with friends and have a drink early. Great vibe with the Drums or sax and the DJ. Take it down to Platinum afterwards.
  19. OUCH- No Love! I like it. Honesty is key- Saturdays at Nine are hot, Fridays are slow.
  20. Studio 9 should just change it's name to "sleep" anyway... lol
  21. Please tell me I'm not the only one who hates Gasolina... Worst song since that "I like it like that" song.
  22. Hey - I'm a Terps fan. But you can't knock the best team in the land. Carolina could b1tch slap the Bobcats or play with half the NBA.... Some would say they are better suited for the NBA than a college game...
  23. You are misunderstanding my point. $3000 is CHEAP for a lawyer that beats a DWI. I said before I have known people to pay $7,000 to $15,000 and that is JUST for the attorney. The other costs above and beyond the attorney normally total about $10,000 in fines and surcharges. Johnny Cochran is dead.... Anyone who pays that kind of money for a DUI might as well just pay off the cops. It's cheaper. I don't know ANYONE who has ever paid, or would pay that much without a GUARANTEE. (and there are none) Your friends got ripped off....
