  1. a) this was just before the new bill was passed for creating tighter security for when we enter nyc nightclubs Do a search for that. It was a discussion i got in on around a year ago. youre talkin about webster hall buddy they only care to check ur age when the cops are standing near, a known narc is in the area, or when they are NEW to the door
  2. really feelin this artist right now we spoke about him on our radio show over the past couple days this weekend. Got another show coming up today at noon EST but its about another artist. Hopefully i can segway into alittle comment or two about Dirty South again but lets see. 1 Sorry (Radio Edit) (3:34) 2 Sorry (Dirty South Radio Edit) (3:30) Remix - Dirty South (2) 3 Sorry (Extended Mix) (7:20) 4 Sorry (Dirty South Mix) (7:35) Remix - Dirty South (2) and 1 It's Too Late (Dirty South Remix) (Radio Edit) (3:05) 2 It's Too Late (Dirty South Remix) (6:35) Dirty South Real Name: Dragan Roganovic Profile: The filthy curb-crawling new wave disco of Dirty South is a result of debauched years behind the decks and a lot of time spent at home creating his own musical fun. His Sleazy debut is the perfect introduction to the Dirty South school of naughty thought – a passionate electronik glam revenge on sadistic ghosts of past affairs. Dirty South caught the technically transmitted disease of DJing long before he even owned his first set of turntables. With the DJ bug in his blood, a young lad could be found teaching himself mixing skills on his NEC tape deck, utilising nothing more than its twin cassette players, a pause button and nimble fingers to recreate the sounds of club DJing in the safety of his own bedroom. By the time he got his first decks at the start of the millennium he’d already honed the techniques ready to take on the world of his heroes such as Eric Morillo and Felix Da Housecat. At the same time he was mastering the concept of DJing, South was also readying himself for a future in studio knob-twiddling. Spurred on by the megamixes that filtered through the radio waves into his disco den, the devious young man hotwired the family computer (once the domain of innocent school projects) with illicit music software smuggled to him by sympathetic allies. Soon he was jacking out his own remixes and edits of sordid club anthems and nasty chart hits. Wallowing in the grime of his secret life, South soon slid into the murky world of mash-ups and bootlegs. It was only a matter of time before his treachery became notorious around the global underworld – his tracks seeping out of the local club cesspit and infecting the airwaves from the Australian Nova network to Pete Tong’s Radio 1 playlists in the UK. It was only natural that Dirty South was embraced by the twisted, like-minded crew at Vicious who fuelled his perverted past time with remix duties for Mr. Timothy, Sgt Slick and the year’s most decadent 2005 anthem in Australia, Midas Touch by Midnight Star. Enter Sleazy. The throbbing electrock snarl reflects his lust for all things clubby as well as his unnatural affinity for the dirty denim guitar sounds of Led Zepplin and post-punk posturing of Franz Ferdinand (check the angular strings of the Anthem Mix for further proof). Top it off with a payback house reworking from Mr. Timothy and you’ll be hard pushed to find anything sleazier this side of a late night gutter crawl. 3. pacha isnt world class its just really really BIG. say for example there was only ONE floor in pacha..... would it be any different. world class IMO is where all the big named djs come from outta the country and outta state to play........ and if you look at the calender, that isnt Pacha. I know a number of djs who contact me on a weekly basis whom want to get onto my radio station, the frist thing they tell me is of their weekly spot or regular spot at pacha. To me , djing at pacha is a waste of time. Theres so many djs in there and so few people going FOR the djs, even if i played there twice a week, still no one would know my name. The same goes for these other djs contacting me. the reason its not just shut down and bought out by someone else is .... business smarts its already a place that has very little if any traffic the current owners arent making anything on it so why would someone else take it by the reigns if it has nothing really to offer the public. Since there is a LEASE agreement in place, they cant break it. If someone wants it, theyll have to wait til that runs out. ---------------- Now playing: My Vision Of Dancefloor #01 Mixed By VERSUS 5
  4. exactly the problem the promoter is just booking djs he is then telling the djs only a few days before the night that they have to bring people im sure around 12 midnight a couple people were walking around saying get some people here, use your cell phones bla bla we will let them in for free its funny when the staff leaves before the party is over isnt it?
  5. not really thugz actually THING wannabees and more so just people who have been led to belive what they are hearing is HIP HOP Its not they are hearing RAP theres a big differance Hip hop is a culture. The music is actually GOOD. it has creativity. a skill that you can pick out instantly and you can even hear the words in the music. Rap however...... while sitting at the Clearchannel studio in NYC, we played a new release from a new rapper. The girl sitting next to me who has been in radio for 13 years was tryingto understand most of the song. It wasn't on air yet, and wont be until about Feb 2008. Even still. the point is that RAP sucks HIP HOP however is something that needs to be BACK in thisscene
  6. check out the ones made by Centon you can get them on sale usualy through TIGER DIRECT. com i waited til they were on sale for $20 each. I called them up and said ill buy a few dozen. They gave me a better price and i ended up reselling them for 35 each. I also gave some away at a club i was playing @ ---------------- Now playing: Roots Special Broadcast 11 16 07
  7. no you silly! lol i know you... haha glad to see ur still around. that was to the original poster
  8. if thats the case, why do u need promoters? do you mean you need sub promoters (working under you? )
  9. hip hop party anthems? great.. another new genre of music
  10. the best g-list to be on is the head promoters or the djs
  11. two reasons ( do a search ) A) there is no garuntee (sp) that the clubplanet guest list will be within the terms you may think you have have agreed to for admission to said venue The door staff isnt always the same throughout the night so while one person may know about the CP list someone else who is handling the lists may NOT know anything about it and therefore you'd be charged entry
  12. as far as i remember, there is only two rooms in Avalon Main room / Chapel if you pay or use advanced tickets or guestlists, you have access to both rooms. Im sure A&G are playing the mainfloor. The only area you wouldnt be able to go into is..... the main floor dj booth (unless youre part of my crowd )
  13. good call bad party though.... maybe its just that i have outgrown that kinda place went to cielo lastnight......... had a fawkin ROCKIN Time
  14. im guessing you have a guest list at avalon now?
  15. actually when proper djs are playing good trance.... its a good party however what he is talking about i believe is these moron locals who download all the trance they can find on .co.uk servers, slap it together and call themselves trance djs im sorry...... i seriously love trance (along with hard style, techno, hard house, and the basic forms of house) but these quote unquote djs playing trance at avalon now....... if i had to walk in front of the place.... id cross the street first

  20. well i have an internet radio station and wanted clubplanet to add the streams to its pages (costs noting by the way) but its hard to break out of the crowd in the NY area as it is and always has been best i can do for now for my djs is get them bookings at multiple placed in NYC and NJ where they would just let people know through some type of media about the station and what it does. Im still trying to find a good quality place in ny to allow us to broadcast weekly from the dj booth. Be nice to do it from Stereo as its the bext party in YEARS i have been to.
  21. do u think this would still be true of there were less cheesy placed in NY to goto? keep in mind that about 5 years ago, everyplace and its basement turned from a club or bar into (Bar / Lounge) and tagged the name it had with "Upscale" One of the problems i see is that there really ARE way too many places to goto and more then 60% of them are doing exactly the same thing as each other. Another problem is venues cant get enough people into the door for a night. Yes some places have packed houses but they still offer bottle service which is cool but what about these places that can fit like 300+ and used to be bars that are now only getting a few dozen a night... piecing off their own basements as separate rooms (Example: Guernica) theres hundreds of places like this for example in alphabet city. If they were all closed (not all but just the ones that really don't do something creative or different) wouldn't we end up with trickle down effect? wouldn't it just lead these regulars to goto the more legitimate places?
