hollands has been around forever. I saw him at a couple raves and when Exit was called Carbon way back when. The guy plays some hard bangin house on the techno tip. Thats why they booked him with picotto. No doubt he'll hold it down for the evening

What it means to be "underground" (pacha related)
growinupjersey replied to silverbull's topic in New York / New Jersey
First off wheather a venue or dj is 'underground' doesnt matter to me. I dont give a shit about that anymore. Im 26 now, i can party with anyone, dont matter if they're there for the music, drugs, i dont give a fuck. Ill party at crobar, then go to a small shit hole club and watch Frankie Bones play. I dont act like i know it all, hell im not even into the scene as much as i was when i was younger. This is about a comment being made about this scene being 'underground' which it's not anymore. I dont know how long you've been around for but i got back into the scene in 95. Just as the 'underground' was comming up for the most part. The kids who got me into this had been partying since 91 and the Limelight Disco 2000 days. Here i did some leg work for you, see how nice i am i and dont even know you un·der·ground (ŭn'dər-ground') adj. Situated, occurring, or operating below the surface of the earth: underground caverns; underground missile sites. Hidden or concealed; clandestine: underground resistance to the tyrant. Of or relating to an organization involved in secret or illegal activity: underground trade in weapons. Of or relating to an avant-garde movement or its films, publications, and art, usually privately produced and of special appeal and often concerned with social or artistic experiment. -

yeah there maybe little parties at holes in the wall clubs in nyc still. But hunnie, like i said there is no underground when it comes to this scene. It was overexposed many many years ago. -

uh dude i hate to break it to you but the word 'underground' when associated with electronic music doesnt exist anymore. As a matter of fact it hasnt existed since the mid 90's. Finding websites that contain rave/club information is not underground, being able to buy tickets from ticket master is not underground, hearing an electronic music track on a commercial is not underground. To top it off a dj getting paid 10k to spin a set isnt underground either. So that dj/producer needs to check himself -
function's pretty sick, i remember him from the ol Digital Domain days

i played mostly raves and they usally give u an hour time slot unless your headlineing. So i would drop 25 give or take in an hour, ya know to make things interesting and change up the pace. However when i played tunnel and some other big clubs i would spin for a couple hours. I would then let some tracks ride, if i went all out 25 tracks per hour for 4 hours id be drenched in sweat, lol
