I cant really explain it. Even though i was by myself, i didnt feel alone. the vibe was amazing, something ive never experienced before2. dj heather, craig righards, and green velvet at Fabric (mid october)first night out in london. fucking amazing club: great sound system, great lighting, effects (smoke machines in the floor, for example), room to dance...great vibe, dancin my ass off (like i never had before), $3 drinks 3. carl cox at fabric (11/31): first time seeing him... :jawdrop: uhoh...boss coming.. Not the biggest names in the world (Q-Burns Abstract Message, Andy Hughes, Rainbow Bridge, Dingo Bwoy, Dread, a few others), but it was a blast and I even got behind the decks for a little myself when one of the DJs cancelled...2. Parthenon, Tampa, early 1996 - Probably my first big party. Keoki and Craze were there, and at about 4 in the morning the cops busted the place, everyone threw their drugs in the air, and literally walking out there was shit all over the floor. Intersting experience though.3. My 21st Birthday party, Tampa, Jan 22 2000 - threw a party at the watering hole in the middle of a golf course, some friends showed up with equipment, and it turned into this weird dual party with a rave going on out on the golf course and a bunch of fratboys drinking in the bar. Got about 1500 people to show up. This probably would be #1 except I can barely remember any of it.4. Wonderland, Opening night/Halloween, April/October 2001 - Sick sick sick loft party. Both were absolutely awesome. Best vibe I've felt anywhere in the city5. Paul Van Dyk, Twilo, April 2001 - Just one of the best times I've had out at a club.6. Tresor Party, Limelight, Jan 2000(ish) - Ditto. Probably my first real techno party (they don't play techno in FL period), and the Advent, Joey Beltram, Dave Tarrida, and Function made me a believer. Place was to packed to move, but the music was banging too hard not to move.7. 2 days+ of straight clubbing, Jan 19 - 22, 2002. The amazing part is I was totally sober for the first 48 hours of it. Kinda went like Shelter first construction party (2am - 6am) ---> House party (6am - 9am) ---> Junior (9am - 6pm) ---> house party (6pm - 9pm) ---> Daybreaks (9pm - 12am) ---> Novocento (12am - 4am) ---> A little bit of chill time/hanging out (4am - 12pm) ---> bars on Macdougal and Bleecker (12pm - 9pm) ---> Tronic (10pm - 4am) ---> Tronic afterparty w/ H Foundation (4am - 9am)8. Candyland, Chili Pepper, Ft. Lauderdale FL, Feb 1998 - Pretty decent for a massive. Every set was a tag team set with a few really good ones (BBB vs. Humpty Vision, Icey vs. Baby Anne, Jasp 182 vs. Andy Hughes, AK1200 vs. Monk, etc), plus they brought in a snow machine so it was snowing inside the club.9. Ultra 3(?), Miami March 2000 - Just have to include it because of the lineup. The crowd was probably the worst I've ever seen, but getting to see Fatboy Slim, RITM, PVD, The Light, Westbam, Icey, Monk, AK1200, Rhinocerose, Josh Wink, Dave Seaman, Icey, Garfield, Spacemen, Ronisize, DJ Rap, and Sasha and Digweed all in one day made it good enough.10. Sunday Brunch @ the Benke, few months ago. After the Carl Cox/Richie Hawtin show (which I didn't attend), about 15 friends decided to have their own party which lasted for a good 24 hours with DJs going the whole night and day. I remember so many great moments, from bumping into Andy Dick, getting shotties from drag queens, to groovin to PVD, Deep Dish, etc. Just the peak Clubbing experience i could muster 2~ 6th Element circa 99 (see Muggz's review)3~ Carl Cox/Hawtin @ South Street Seaport this past March. Even though it was soggy and someone fell from some stairs, it was my 1st Huge CP meetup, and i had a blast seeing Carl Rip it up4~ Hawtin @ Limelight, Thanksgiving 2000.5~ PS1 summer 20006~ Industria club in Antwerp, Belgium. The entrance to the place is like a Hawaiian Luai , with reggae playin. Inside they dropped serious euro-disco-tech beats and i stayed till 7am7~ Chemical Bros, Oakenfold @ Hammerstein, 2 years ago, great visuals, and it was b4 Oakey went mainstream8~ Area One Last summer , Oakey, Carl, the Orb9~ Fatboy Slim @ Hammerstein , 2 years ago (i SWEAR he pointed at me, and we made some sort of ethereal contact)10~ I HAVE A DREAM IV met so many kool peeps there, and they opened the top floor of Hammerstein, which i'd never seen b4 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
