Addaboy
Will someone PLEASE stick a fork in this guy....you're SO DONE!!!!!!!After seeing the HUGE line outside of Merge this past Saturday, we decided to just suck it up and go to XS for a bit. Eddie used to be a big name and remember the days of hearing him at Factory many moons ago. What a mistake! Jesus man, most of the dancefloor was just standing there as you ruined almost every song you played. Give up on playing mostly your OWN mixes...they're just about as TIRED as that stupid "Da Dick Suck" song you play EVERY time you DJ. Oh and that masacre of a mix with that old rock song (name is escaping me right now)...horrible! The crowd was sparce and much better last year on Saturdays. In other events to try and end things on a positive note...Thursday night with Johnny Vicious at Temptations- had a great time. Hadn't heard him spin in maybe 3 years or so and was pleasantly surprised. Great mixing and some interesting track selections with samples from "Elements" and a few others thrown in. Dance almost all night.Friday night at Merge with Teo...impressed as usual. Good to hear some old favorites (i.e. "Corrupt" etc.) and loved the mix of Kim English "Missing You" and Angie's IWIDMYA. Great guy and even better DJ. addaboy

salgo
well, i totally disagree with you about merge last year. if in fact we are talking about the same night. when i heard him at merge, i thought it was one of his best performances. eddie baez is the #1 dj in jersey right now, IMO. he has produced more tracks than any other dj in jersey. has played at the most impressive clubs on the east coast, and overseas. i have'nt heard him since merge last year, but i was very impressed with him when i did. i know him personally as well. he's been through some rough shit, and he was making a good comeback since his periodic dissappearance last year. it is possible though that he's not playing that well now, so i guess ill just drop in to hear him at xs this weekend, just for a minute though. its rydell's b-day this sat, so were celebrating it at merge. but ill drop by during merge to hear him. later man

This also isn't an attack on him personally. I've met him on many occassions and he is a very cool guy, however I'm pointing out that IMO his DJing is leaving something to be desired and wondering if others agree. In his time he has played many a hot spot, but that is in the past and not where he is today. His own personal life should not come into consideration, I know my boss could care less about my personal life if my work was suffering. I appreciate your feedback and am curious to read and unbiased review on your next opportunity to hear him play.Thanks.addaboy

The 13th is the White party.I was at XS for a little bit on Saturday and he impressed me.

True, I wasn't there all night (couldn't take it) so I'm only commenting on the hours of 12am to 2am. He was born, raised, and still IS a NYer.2) Produced more tracks than anyone else in NJ? I think you mean "remix" because Eddie has only produced a small handfull of junk. But even then, youre WAY off. Not that I'm a fan, but I think the crown goes to Rizzo as far as NJ DJ's with most number of remixes.3) Overseas? Eddie is lucky if he's been overseas ONCE.GET A CLUE! salgo
first of all, dont doubt the factual. second of all, i do know him personally, so dont think you know something you dont. a: he's been a jersey dj for a c couple of years now. ever since rehab he's been in jersey. so listen up dickehead, you dont have a clue. dont even think for one second that you actually have a clue. he's been over sea's more than you've been right in your entire life. anyway, if you look in my past posts i know more than you think. anyway, to others who are much less ignorant, do the math......he's one of the best. any one who really knows, knopws his career. as for you, the dick whop thinks he knows, come and see me. ill explain in person. then ill introduce you to the best in jersey. Isn't this topic old yet? How can you even compare Baez, who has played all over the world (many times), to Teo (AKA= The Seaside Kid) Not that i am knocking Teo but there is no comparison. It is nice to see that Teo has some loyal friends, but Baez has been on point most of the Saturday's i have been in XS. By the way how many people were in Merge this past Friday of July 4th weekend listening to your boy?

By the way how many people were in Merge this past Friday of July 4th weekend listening to your boy? gotta agree w/ you, I also found it quite ironic how directly after talking shit about an amazing dj, whom hes obviously very jealous of, he praises Teo (no offense to Teo, just not my fav)...i heard that eddie was suppost to celebrate his birthday this weekend...is this true...Also..I was there this past sat, towards the end of the night...wasnt his best set imo, but he was still great...Baez is still, and will always be one of my fav DJ's.... By the way how many people were in Merge this past Friday of July 4th weekend listening to your boy? Actually to be honest, I don't really know Teo that well at all. Don't have his number, email address, hell, I don't even know his last name. We've talked a few times in other clubs that I've seen him in, but that's about as far as that relationship goes. All I was saying that I enjoyed hearing him spin. That's it.I wasn't comparing Eddie and Teo at all. I'm sorry if that's what you got out of it, but that was not the case. I guess I'm just comparing Eddie to the guy I used to hear at Factory and other venues around the city. This Eddie of 2002, not the one of old (no matter where he's played). Well, if he's what you enjoyed, then by all means go and enjoy. Glad that you could find a scene that you liked. For me, it wasn't for me and really didn't enjoy most of what I heard...some haphazard record choices IMO. Actually was quite disappointed, b/c my friends and I were expecting a much better night from Eddie. I was just reviewing a night out that I experienced, not on a mission to rip a club/DJ to make any others look better. I still don't know why so many people do that on here?Oh and as for the dig of how many people went to see "my boy" on 7/5, really tired man. FYI - judging from other times last year that I went to XS on Saturdays...more did go to hear him then was witnessed at XS last Saturday - psst...the upstairs of the club was almost completely empty.Enough of this topic. We should just be happy that we live in an area where we do have just that...choices. Take care and enjoy you the rest of the summer.addaboy

madamex
Now, now kids. Eddie B is one of the best DJ's around, but even great DJ's have bad nights. I start off at XS to hear Eddie and then I go to Temps. I think people need a little variation in their music. I am friends with most of these DJ's and they all have their own style. You just have to find which one plays the kind of music you like and stick to it. I give props to Teo T and Eddie B, they are both very talented and they are good people at heart!! E Razor
what about morillo and romero, both are jersey djs, although its rare you hear them spin locally.
salgo
this is for the idiot who said baez was born, raised, and lives in new york......jersey city.....studio and all.....but ......since im not friends with him, how the hell did i know that.....anyway, baez is one of the best, there's no doubt. maybe he's lacking a little lately, its possible. all the great one's go through periods of ailment. its nothing new to the industry. he most certainly doesnt suck....oversea's once...if he was that lucky....are you kidding me? you obviously have no clue
