now about oscar. i have respect for him. i know that they are friends etc. i'm just saying oscar is a headline dj. NOT an opener. i have heard very few that can cross the line. say jimmy van m for instance. he's a brilliant opener, but his headline sets leave much to be desired. oscar is other way round in my opinion. if it were my choice, nobody would touch the decks in that room all night except danny. he can build his own sound.

perpetuating things does not justify your actions. besides I didn’t see saleen personally attacking you. but if that’s the only way, you can express yourself whatever. however imo it’s weak.

Oscar has opened for other DJ’s all over the world. so his qualifications as an opener, have already been established.oscar isn't looking to impress the cp critics circle, he's there to entertain the masses. which is what he did quite well. did you not notice the change in the energy level; when Oscar went off the decks ? that speaks volumes. I will agree nobody should open for DT; this way he can start his sets early, and get right to the meat and potatoes.

Thanks guys! :)

I appreciate all the kind words and support as well as the constructive criticism (except for Andrew....youre just a hater)

I ,for one, had a great time on Sunday night...for several reasons...first off, I was celebrating my 7th anniversary with my lovely wife and second we get to hang with my old buddy DT which we never get to do anymore....and last but not least I got to play in my hometown, at Space ,which is my favorite place to be in the whole world....

Now as far as my "opening" set...I don't think 6 1/2 hours is considered an opening set (on South Beach they call that a whole night!)....Danny hit the decks at 4:30....I think alot of you were under the impression that he went on alot earlier because he was hanging in the booth with me and flashing his lights and stuff for about 45 minutes before he went on....when he said "I'm going to slow things down a bit" that was actually the first song he played that night........If I would have stuck to a more laid back and minimal "opening" vibe for that long people would have gotten totally bored and tired by the time DT came on....

I have opened for DT every time he has played at Space (including WMC) as well as tag-teaming with him at Vinyl NYC a couple of times and I think I know how to build up the vibe for him (and he thinks so too:) ) but this was a little different.....DT missed his flight in to Miami and had to take a later one so he didnt arrive till about 1 am.....I found this out in the middle of my set which was originally only supposed to be till 1:30 or 2:00.....from that point on I really had no idea when he would show up so I just tried my best to be entertaining without going overboard or playing the tracks that are huge for me at Space.....once DT finally got there there were some technical issues with his gear so I basically played the last hour of my set with about 10 people in the booth and 2 sound guys under me with flashlights hooking and unhooking things from the Rane mixer....I basically had only the denon cd unit to work with for the last hour because it was basically impossible for me to mix a record with all those guys in the way.......needless to say it was a less than comfortable situation.......I'm not one to make excuses (because God knows you can't win them all) but I also don't like to be judged unfairly....but hey ,the show must go on!!!!:D

ANYWAY, before I break the record for the longest post in CP history, I'll just say thanks for all the support you guys have shown me and like I've said before, nothing means more to me than the LOCAL support!!!

THANKS,

OSCAR G.

MURK!

BTW: this Friday two of my best friends will be starting their new residencies....apart from being my pals they are, no doubt, the 2 best djs in their respective genres in this town (and probably the country)

EDGAR V. will be back at Space on Fridays (thank God!) and he is going to bring back the energy that room has been lacking on Fridays for a long time....

STRYKE will be starting his new party at RED which will definitely offer an alternative to serious music lovers....and this week he has JIMMY T. which I think is an amazing up & coming talent in this town....

PLEASE support these guys ,as they are among the best we have to offer, I'M GOING TO BOTH!!!!!!! see you there!

DT gets around $25,000.00 a night to spin records and HE'S LATE...WTF, NOT PROFESSIONAL, WITH THE MONEY HE MAKES, ITS CALLED A "CHARTERED FLIGHT". THEN WE HAVE SOME JERK OFFS FUCKING WITH YOUR SHIT IN THE BOOTH WHILE YOUR SPINING....WTF..... TELL DT ITS YOUR CLUB AND HIS CREW WILL HAVE TO WAIT AND MAKE HIS SET SUFFER NOT YOURS.... DON'T TAKE A BACK SEAT TO SOMEONE WHO IS SIMPLY OVER PAID AND WHO CRYED LAST WEEK AND ALMOST QUIT ARC.... HOW MANY TIMES HAS HE PLAYED SPACE? MANY TIMES, THERFORE THERE SHOULD BE NO TECHINCAL ISSUES....... DOES DT HAVE A SPECIAL MIXER THAT HE BRINGS? OR DOES HE REQUIRE A SPECIAL PIECE OF EQUIPMENT, HAVE IT HOOKED UP AT 6PM BY THE SOUND GUYS WAY BEFORE HE GETS THERE........

SEE YOU AT SPACE......

AND WHY CAN'T WE GET JIMMY T ON THE PATIO.......:( :(

saleen,

no one listens to your guido ass anyway. maybe you should keep your criticism to yourself. who do you think you are, the roger ebert of dance music. I had a great time. dhm was great and danny did his thing. you obviously have nothing better to do when you're coming down off of your drugs than to write idiotic posts which show everyone how ignorant you really are. by the way, a chartered jet from n.y. costs 60,000. I doubt he would pay that. Maybe you should go to score or twist, they definitely have guido fist pumping except they'll probably be pumping them up your ass. siskel, keep your commentaries to yourself. You obviously don't know anything about real music. just the tracky, overproduced shit that all of your guido e-monkey friends love.

you're a muppet,

FACT: THE SALEEN HAS NEVER ONCE DONE ANY CLUB DRUGS... NOT FUCKING ONCE, ASK ANYONE ON HERE, I'M EVEN OFFERED FREE DRUGS AND I TURN THEM DOWN. SO MUCH FOR YOUR DRUG COMMENT, YOUR IGNORANCE IS MAKING YOU LOOK LIKE AN ASS...

SECOND A CHARTED FLIGHT IS NOT 60K, I SHOULD KNOW, TWO OF MY CLIENTS WHEN I WORKED IN NYC WERE CHARTERED COMPANIES.. ALSO MY ROOMATE IS A PILOT IN THE AIRFORCE THEREFORE SHUT THE FUCK UP.... ITS CHEEPER THEN YOU THINK..

THIRD

DOES MY OPINION MATTER? NOT REALLY, I NEVER SAID IT DID, BUT I DO KNOW THAT CLUB SPACE LISTENS TO US AND CHANGES THINK ACCORDINGLY TO WHAT WE SAY, YEA WE DON'T BY ANY MEANS RUN THEM, BUT WE MOVE THEM IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION. AND I DON'T BASH OTHER PEOPLES VIEWS OF THE NIGHT, THAT WOULD BE IGNORANT....

FOURTH

IF MY OPINIONS DON'T MEAN SHIT, THEN WHY DID YOU HAVE TO RESPOND, AND WHY ARE MY THREADS HAVE THE MOST VIEWS... ITS A SIMPLE ANSWER:

I'M HONEST

YEA I MAY NOT BE RIGHT AND MY OPINIONS MIGHT BE DIFFERENT BUT I'M HONEST..... YOU CAN'T ARGUE WITH THAT... WHERE WERE YOU WHEN I POSTED MY COOLJUNKIE REVIEW AND BASICALLY KISSED SPACES ASS? FUNNY YOU ONLY SHOW UP AND POST WHEN I RIP THEM.... BUT NEVER AROUND WHEN I PRAISE THEM...

"Everyone here is entitled to their own opinion"

Not because Oscar is my friend or anything but IMO he had a great set on sunday.......and if he didn't have a great set i would of told him something cause i think we have the confidence in talking like that to each other......but i don't think i've ever told Oscar that because i think he plays well all the time..........now on the topic of bringing in another dj to open up for DT like JVM......i've heard JVM many times....and he really hasn't done anything for me.....IMO i think Jimmy should of opened for Sasha 2 monday's ago and i would of had a better night.......if i would of known JZ was gonna play the way he did i would of showed up at 2am to hear Sasha which IMO again had an awesome set...an opening set shouldn't last more than 2 hours maybe 3 but that's pushing it but just like Oscar said he pretty much played a whole night not an opening set.........

that was the armand van helden remix of bizarre love triangle. it came out around 98. i could be a year or so off though. oscar played way too strong for an opening set IMO, but how long can he play flat for? Danny didnt go on until 4. He immediately put me to sleep. It took him 2 hours to wake me back up, but that was only enough for me to drive home. I stayed til like 730 as he was saying that he was just warming up....oh well.

i dunno but , in my opinion & most of the people i was with , oscar had a great set !! at the end of his set we didnt even want him to get off !! i know everyone has their opinions but id of rather left oscar up there than have danny t get on !! like i said before, i like danny t but oscar had started building us up & we didnt want it to stop... i know its tough top please everyone but me & most of the crew were happy with the set oscar delivered & to the ones who didnt like it , im sure you'll like one of his sets on another night .. all dj's cant have a great night every time ..or can they ?? one mans great set might be someone elses shitty set.. jmo ..... oscar just keep doing what your doing !! most of us love it ... & the ones who dont want to listen , just dont bother going to see one of the greatest dj's around !! peace !

I love how people keep complaining about D.T.

Lets see, everyone keeps bitching he opened too soft, and this, according to OSCAR who would know the best, he got on a little late, and no one seemed to know.

Then you all bitch that it took him too long to get into his set, and that everyone was tired by the time he started to get going. This is what I love about Miami Clubbers, they can't hang all night, instead they bitch and complain and leave. Tenaglia is not a DJ who spins 6-7-8 hour sets. Of Course he opens up the way he does, because he builds up his set. Also about the Microphone thing, I haven't seen Danny alot, unfortunately, but I know for a fact he's always on the mic, thats what he does. I bet everyone doesnt like the train sound that Space Djs love to pull, its what Djs do. What other Dj gets on the mic to praise the DJ before him, and praise the club hes playing out, shit I wish more Dj's would do that, and tell me another Dj who gives out id's to songs, b4 he plays them....

why do u think that JVM should have opened up for Sasha 2 mondays ago if he doesn't do anything for you?

Let's be honest here, JZ is not your style because he doesn't play trance...

we know DT plays for 10+ hours. why not let him start at midnight, and forget about an opening DJ. let him work himself and the crowd into his set, as he does in most other places he plays. 10 hours plus of dancing is taxing on your body, whether you are chemically enhanced or not. I’m pissed because I missed the best part of his set, simply because I was just exhausted. while I understand DT had transportation problems, beyond his control. however for future appearances, maybe the powers that be, may want to consider starting him earlier. people are more inclined to stick it out; if they have had the opportunity to work themselves into a set.

Okay, I would like to give my review of DT @ Space,

But first I would like to say I was a pleasure to meet the one and only DAVE .

Lola.. I think you may be the only girl that can keep up with me lol.. You are the best !!!!;)

SoBeton, We are on the same page as far as DT and OG, thaks for the list info, even tho it didnt work... Its the thought that counts lol..

Kokster, love the ghetto glasses.. umm which truck did they fall off of.??? lol get to the beach more often will yha you crazy long sleved in the summer wearing crazy F.

Dekan and steff. totoally dont blame you for leaving "early" pete you shoulda went up to the decks to show em how its done!!!! lol

anyway great to party with you and stef!!!!!

Saleen Great to finally party with you again its alll to rare but.. the guido fist pumping was at an all time low!!! Maybe we should use that as a means of keeping the floor clear so when Tony and I and the rest of the SF'ers battle the models and bottles crew wont walk right thre the center!!!!!!

To all the rest i had a blast to hang w' you all ... gotta do more often casue it makes my night all that much more better, even if the music sucks you guys are make the night awsome!!!!

Now to the music: OG was on!!!! I wanted to dance so bad but i knew if i did i owuld be shot by the time DT got on ( i should have listen to my self lol cause OG WAS better then DT)

I have seen DT god knows how many times over the last 10 or so years ( im really dating myself huh lol) and he has been much much better then last saturday maybe OG just overshadowed him or i was just expectime much more who knows.. but nixt time i think we all know NOT TO GET THERE TILL AT least 6 AM POINTLESS otherwise

I wish space really wouldnt have F'ed up the guest list but i have come to expect them not to come threw abd have lame excuse.. its all to soon that one time im gonna get some excuse as to why i gotta get ripped off and pay and they will get some boken noses and black eyes... arrest me i dont care but Fuck im there every week WTF!!!

well i finally made it home. had a great time the whole weekend. kudos to joeygk for putting up with my ass for 3 days and the unlimited supply of chex mix :D .

wonderful time on saturday. i wasnt planning on getting FUBAR, but what the hell, shit happens, and in a total state of FUBAR i ended up.

great meeting almost all of you folks. mrmatas, lola, lavosdeldiablo, the infamous saleen (bro i thought you were gonna be like 6'4 290 libs or something, but great meeting you), mr moderator ga2, nightstar, and i know that i met more peopl that do not post on the board whose name i cant recall.

i also cant recall if i met koky on saturday or sunday (yes, it was that bad my FUBAR state on saturday night). james954 and someone else i also met on sunday at space. fucking' a, i now remember, i met koky on saturday. ok anyway...

great seeing sobeton & DaVe again and meeting joeygk's friend from school who i will refer to as "Miami CP Lurker" until she comes up with a name and joins the board :D .

ok where was i? great place, jail i liked teh vibe very chill and relaxing, great track selection by lavosdeldiablo, open bar, enough seating space, and people got dancing and i hope you all post the pics you took up (havent seen the otrher threads to see if they have been put up yet though).

sunday at space, had a great time also. yeah, at the beggining i was pacing myself, i wanted to start boogieng but knowing that DT was coming on I just wanted to conserve my energy. The fiorst half of OscarG's set was OK. Played good tracks but he went up and down, but its an opening set, so I didnt really expect him to go all out. Secon half of his set, his last 90 min or so, he started pounding it and i really started to have a great time. tribal blissssss!!!!!!!

dt came on and was incredible! first time ive seen him outside of NY and he was just off the wall, could stop moving at all, just track after track after track of drums, the bass, the bass OMFG the fucking bass!

a special thankyou for lavosdeldiablo, koky & sobeton :D .

we left arpound 10am, where the hell were all of you? the blankey's were calling you name? huh? to tired? :D

wouldve at least wanted to thank each and everyone of you guys for showing me a great time miami cp style and i do want top leave an open invitation for each and everyone of you if you guys come up to DC.

ok, now the blakeys are calling my name i'll return to my regular 30 post average by tommorrow

It's about time you started speaking your mind on the board. You've always been really reserved :)

I didn't hear JZ open up for Sasha so I really can't comment. However, I do love JVM's Bedrock compilation, but I've never heard him spinning live so I'm not sure if he sounds like he does in Bedrock.
