I hear that in his later days he used to eat a couple of them as an appetizer and then scarf down a steak afterwards. Incidentally, there is a place on Sullivan between Bleeker and 3rd called Peanut Butter & Co., which makes this tasty delight under the moniker, The Elvis. YUP.when there's no honey around, a pb+banana with just a little sugar sprinkled inside can make for a little bit of sweet crunch when ya bite down (a teensy bit of sugar sprinkled on top of a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream is good for the same reason) -- gotta love the simple tactile pleasures food offers.
