I've never been able to give good reviews because I'm not very good at being objective when it comes to music but I can tell you that I will be looking forward to hearing him spin again during conference (this was the first time I've ever heard him live). The guy's got some serious talent!!!! He and Nikki are a supa dupa couple (I hope I got her name right - alcohol - need I say more?). Wish I would have been able to chat with them some more on saturday but...... I had to work Anyway, on a darker note... we had an ugly run in with the management at MAZE on Firday night. I won't point any fingers because I don't have the full story and I don't really know who's fault it was but Paolo was basically told to get his shit off the turntables and go down stairs. at about...what?.... 3:30am? Can someone please explain this to me. I heard some explanations but it's still pretty unclear to me what exactly happened.By the way, despite the drama at the end of the night, I had a GREAT time. Thanks to the folks behind PM sessions for bringing him down. It was a real treat and well worth the hassle of getting a baby sitter and and spending the next day wrecked at work. ---------------------DAN: I'd love copies of some of the photos you took... funketeer Posted February 10 Report Share Posted February 10 Being a drama aficionado...I really, really, really...would love to see some fingers being pointed to the responsibles and if possible a couple of "fuck you motherfuckers" being shouted out...I mean, all of this if possible...unless of course political correctness wants to be exercised over a world class Dj having to suffer such an embarrassingly uncomfortable moment...personally...fuck the loser who commits this act of ignorance (you know who you are) it only makes our scene look bad and unprofessional...don't forget these guys go back to their countries with a full report of their experiences here in Miami...Paolo's will probably be "Everything was going ok until I got kicked out of the booth by security"...please, please...if you don't know what to do with your millions of dollars and decide your sorry ass wants to go into the clubbing business...read the manual of good manners and humbleness first...just a thought...sometimes the clothes do not make the man. It was the Improvability drive. The author talked and talked about how nothing was faster, etc., etc actually dedicated the whole chapter to it, until the last sentence of the chapter where the author remembered that there actually was ONE thing in the universe faster than the improvability drive. PLEASE!! It was a terrible ending for the night. I was under the impression Maze was supporting the music scene.It seems to me that Maze just wanted to get bodies in, but to the main floor. While upstairs, I was invited by this blond dude downstairs with an offer of two drinks for each of us ( 4 ). The main floor was busier than upstairs. Music sucked thou. Crowd felt like the typical cheesy South Beach crowd. I drank my vodka/cran fast, ordered my second one and tried to head back up. This security guy wouldn't let us go back upstairs. Coming down was no problem, it was a one way street.So we finished our second drink and left the club to go around for a second time. The girl in the front remembered my friend. We didn't have a stamp but she was courteous to let us back in.We were there until around three thirty. This big security, who seemed a little bit out of it, told us we had to leave. Only a few seconds earlier the music was playing. I saw the DJ booth evacuated and the DJs, including Paolo, escorted out. Carla and Marcos held as if they were getting arrested. Simply weird, unprofessional and rude. The security told us we had to leave inmediately, Rick had given the order, but we could go downstairs. He almost puts a hand on my my friend Carlos. He threatened the security not to get touched. We are paying patrons and don't deserve to be treated as criminals just because the club decides to break up a party.I was in the guestlist plus one. My two friends paid $10 each to listen to Paolo Mojo until 5 am. What is all of this about?In the way to our car we bumped to a couple friends who were at Lime Bar. They were also invited with offers of free drinks to the main floor of Maze. They didn't go thou. Lime Bar was kicking and people enjoying themselves.I am under the impression that the main floor is the only thing Maze cares about. And packing that room is not easy. So they need to buy people away from the other two parties to fill in. This is bad business IMHO.Thank you to the P:M Sessions people. Paolo was so good. I can't wait to hear him during conference.
