A woman's menstrual and ovulation cycle ARE NOT necessarily in sync... it IS possible for a woman to ovulate and, hence, become pregnant during her period.Also, as far as the failure rate of the pill goes- if a woman is taking her birth control properly... the chances of her becoming pregnant are nearly zero. If you wouldn't want to cum inside a woman who's on the pill b/c you're afraid of getting her pregnant, I hope that you're also pulling out while using a condom. weyes Posted March 4 Report Share Posted March 4 the failure rate of the pill is very low - the package insert on mine says it is .1%, when taken "perfectly." it does say, however, that with "typical use," the failure rate is 5%. that's still very low, but it's true that it's very easy to forget to take a pill on time or one miss a day, and both can really be detrimental to one's protection from pregnancy.
