cookiegirl
So I think I'm headed to Vegas this August. Who's got recommendations for me? Any suggestions are welcome! Especially places to stay and places to get free drinks, and of course the famous breakfast buffets. . . Don't stay at MGM Grand... that exterior green light drove me crazy, thought I was on Mars. However their breakfast buffet is awesome... just expect a long ass line.Emeril's in Vegas is top notch for a quality meal. Most of the larger casinos have free drinks as long as you are plunking money down on tables or slots. And of course, visit Crazy Horse Too and get a lapdance from the crazy redhead in a Britney schoolgirl outfit... er wait... shadygroovedc
Best places to stay in no particular order:Treasure Island, Mirage, New York. Actually, any of the hotels on the strip in between Treasure Island and Luxor/Mandalay Bay other than Imperial Palace is a good place to stay. I think that's the south strip. Can't remember. I always get turned around and forget which way's north and which way's south. My favorite place to eat: Brazilian BBQ at Samba. Right off the casino at the Mirage.Restaurants at the Venetian are also really good, but very expensive.Rio has a really good seafood buffet and their margaritas are HUGE.Caesar's and Bellagio have the best shopping.Paris has a bar like halfway up the Eiffel Tower that has a really nice view. Good margaritas there, too. Ask them for fresh squeezed lime juice. Yummy. That's all I can think of now.
rockyblue
the buffet at the Rio is legendary. you should definitely check it out.

nourishment
My recommendation is not to stay longer than four days. Any longer than four days and the smog of neediness and desperation that hangs about Las Vegas will start to cling to you like cigarette smoke inside of a club. Three days is just about perfect. Last time I was there, it was for five days and I thought I was going to I'm down for the penthouse idea.
rockyblue
i agree. a long weekend is the best. if you stay too long, you just get depressed.
patural9
bring lots of money cuz the buffets arent cheap unless you are gambling and get them comped. I would def recommend staying at mandalay bay (on the strip)if you want to be around a younger crowd, and the standard rooms are huge. Did i mention its hot as fuck in august? about 105-100 degrees every day and sometimes in the low 100's at night

therunner
if you stay too long, you just get broke and the possibilities of turning to prostitution as a new career become more likely. Staying for a about a three hour layover on your way to hawaii is the best.
