couple questions abt clubbing

Recommended Posts

arright i just turned 20 and i wanna start clubbing like crazy :D

i dont have many friends (not friends that would go clubbing) so most likely i'm gonna have to go alone, and usually i love that because i get that feeling of adventure when im all by myself among strangers and stuff, but my first clubbing experience was just last week on my 20th birthday, when i went to a club in hawaii heheh...it was alrite, i had to go alone

these mite sound like really stupid questions but i dont really know how stuff works yet so im gonna have to ask anyway...

how strict are the guys who check ur ID anyway? meaning, how closely do they check it, do they usually tend to be total jerks? if im well dressed, do u think they'd still turn me away, im only a yr. away from being 21....also, i've heard that if u bring along a fine looking chic they mite let u in on account of her hotness :cool:

and for those who go clubbing alone in los angeles, is it safe, and most importantly, whats the best way to guarantee that u have a good time?

thanks for ur replies!

in regards to the clubbing alone question....

been there, done that. It really sometimes limits you because sometimes you'll meet a girl and the next question will be "so where are your friends tonight" and if you get pass that question you're fine ... that IS until you (might) find out that she is there with another or two other or three other girls who havent met a guy yet in the club that night so far ... and even if your girl likes you she'll exchange #s but her friends will basically (out of selfishness cuz they havent found anyone yet) drag the girl you are talking to away from you and say "lets go somewhere else" or something like that.

it happens time and time again.

another word of advice -- partying alone doesnt work in small venues with just a few people cuz they notice you are by yourself. It does work in bigger venues where u cant tell if you are wandering alone or in a group. (but in a different thought, paryting alone in a small venue REALLLY forces you not to be shy and start talking which is a good thing).

It's pretty tough to party in LA if you're under 21. I have friends that use older friends/sisters ID's and it works most of the time, assuming they actually look alike and have everything memorized well. But, I've also seen a doorman go as far as comparing signatures, and this girl was hot. What I've found is that being with a hot girl will get you past guestlist problems most of the time, but age problems only once in awhile.

BTW, that whole going out alone thing - just call up an escort service.

 that's insane! i've never heard of that.

but my experience, anotherway83, has been that id checks are very thorough everywhere. i really don't know of any particularly lenient clubs. i've been to spundae and red a trillion times and the door guy stares at my id and my face back and forth for a good 30 seconds. ok, they're big venues, and i know he sees a lot of people and ids, but my picture looks EXACTLY like me, i always go with the same friend, and the two of us pretty much dress in our same certain ways whenever we go out (my pants are HUGE, my friend is pretty big and he always wears a shirt from anchor blue and a hat  ). i'd think by now he'd know us.

ID checks are strict in LA but there are some 18+ clubs you can start with and within a year you will be able to go anywhere else. I think but im not sure (weyes help me out here) that Red is 18+, some events at the grand are 18+ like Futurehouse. Do a little research and find out which clubs are 18+ and what kind of music they play and go there for a year. Plus im sure youll make friends who are in the same boat as you in these places.

hope this helps;)

time for my 2c from my limited party experiences:

*ID check for the most part is strictly enforced. Best bet is to borrow from older siblings or friends. Make sure you know the ID info inside out :D

*As for partying alone - it has its pros and cons. You can do whatever you want, whenever you want. But you do it alone (well, with 1000 other hyped up party goers...) But now that you found the CP - LA forum, chances are you'll run into one of us somewhere. Just gotta reach out and touch someone :aright:
