Freakist Halloween Party in LA... where?

Just moved here from NYC, pretty ignorant of the LA scene, am willing to learn as I go BUT...

BUT I don't want to miss out on Halloween. What are my options? I want something freaky, artistic (intricate costumes), fleshy (porn stars?), hot. Where do I go? How do I ensure entry? Tell me!

Im not sure how Santa Monica Blvd in WeHo gets anymore since i havent been there for holloween in about 5 years but it was always fun to go there.

Does anybody know if this still goes on? I used to hit that place first then a club afterwards. If it still goes on, i may just do that.

Im sure there are going to be alot of parties since Holloween is like a holiday in LA.

Here's a funny story.

Last Halloween was moving a friend's furniture near that area with another friend ... then left and planned to come back later to pick the two people up to take them to the halloween@highlands party (which was great) ....

no exaggeration....

couldnt get my car into the area from Beverly Blvd on the south to Sunset Blvd on the north.

The number of people (and the traffic congestion) is mind blowing.

Im not talking about a bar or club.

Last times i was there, they had SM blvd closed down from Doheny to Robertson (i think) and thousands of people all dressed up in their Holloween costumes would parade around. Radio stations would broadcast live.

After that you pretty much just go to clubs or bars or whatever plans you might have for the night.

I hope they still have that going on cause im planning on it for this year.

Yeah, the West Hollywood circus (for lack of a better word) is the thing to do. The best plan is to find out what parties are going off before you go... You'll pretty much always meet people to party with and end up doing something other than what you had planed (like two chicks at the same time).

Halloween on Santa Monica Blvd is by far my favorite night in L.A....

last year Pink was performing, there are multiple stages, dancefloors, a cool, mixed crowd, tons of outrages costumes and a vibe you cant simply duplicate....

There will also be tons of afterparties and Halloween Balls, I will have it all on a special section on my website later in the month!

Dont forget Fright Fest @ Magic Mountain, every fri/sat/sun night, it's fun 4 mazes, colossus backwards, scary scones and the log jammer waterride will be Bloodfalls with the water turned red, fog and some crazy surprises(trust me, at the end they got me completly off guard) ....PLUS you dont have to pay $35 extra like at Knotts!

i went to monster massive last year and it was fun. it was a really young crowd, but a fun one, and they did a really good job with the costumes :aright: !

my friend and i went mostly 'cause we got free vip tix; do NOT waste money on vip. all it was was free unripe fruit, a stocked bar (not free), and some booths to sit in (not very nice at all). the vip area had been billed as a place to hang out with the djs, and the djs didn't hang out there at all. we felt bad for anyone who had paid extra.

thanks...i kinda figured that....I'm going to make other plans I think....mostly b/c everyone I know in LA (my first trip out) are probably going to have house party plans anyway.

side note...I maybe asking some more random questions over the next month about things I must check out..like weeklies and such!
