I know this subject has been done to death but here we go again..............

I am making a classics folder. I have about 125 traxx in it (which leaves about 1000 I missed). If anyone has a list of traxx u would consider essential for a classics folder, please respond.

All help is appreciated. :D

RALPHI ROSARIO- YOU USE TO HOLD ME

MARSHALL JEFFERSON- MOVE YOUR BODY

J.M. SILK- JACK YOUR BODY

LNR- WORK IT TO THE BONE

Some people are just blind or young or new to the sceneand think whatever yr they got into the scene its a classic. Heres a classic TEN CITY- MY PIECE OF HEAVEN. Now heres another thing lets ask any great dj "HEY LETS PLAY A CLASSIC TRACK RIGHT NOW , BUT WHICH ONE DO YOU THINK PEOPLE WILL LOVE TO HEAR , ACID CRASH OR DARK BEAT" LOL. Tough one huh.

Yea I am newer to the scene, I wasn't going out in 96-97 etc so my knowledge is kinda limited to newer stuff, but you can't tell me that songs like Safe From Harm and Darkbeat are not classics. When I think of a classic song I think of a song that is A. A great song, and B. One that marks a period of time and is instantly ID'ed with that time. So, a song like Darkbeat, before it got played to hell on the radio, in the Summer of '02 was THE BIGGEST song that summer. Sounds like a classic to me.... And I'm just checking, but '02 is over right? Sounds like it's in the past huh? Hence not current.... This board is too funny. You don't talk about music that came out 2hrs ago and your sleepin on tracks, but you talk about songs that are old and yet, somehow, they aren't old enough. Go to any classics night and these are the songs your going to hear. Anyways, I was just throwing some out there, and if you note, it said IMHO at the end.

no argument here that those are great songs (except maybe Darkbeat, lol) but 2002 aren't classic yet IMO. Those would be classics when I ask this question in 2006. :D good lookin out though. I did say that ALL input is appreciated.

HOLY SHITBALLS, did you say darkbeat, a classic.

You have got to be shittin me.

A classic track is a track that has stood the test of time. Something that's timeless and is enjoyed to this day.

A track that came out last summer hasn't withstood shit.

I honestly don't think there were that many tracks produced in the last couple of 2-3 years that will fall into this category. IMO

With that said, a true classic:

I FEEL LOVE - Donna Summer

Danny Howells has a rmx out that's good, but there is nothing wrong with the original. Dubbed the first trance song...

And there's this one song which I don't remember the name to. Many of you from 99 / 2000 probably remember it. The song begins with a fairly nasty bassline, then male vocals which say, "Together we witness one of the most delightful in our times, so umm.........Let the Bass Go....(then the bass hits very nastily). I can't believe I'm drawing a blank with respect to the name of this song, but it's nasty as fuck, and is one that I consider to be a classic.

And then there's another one with a nice beat and a girl constantly saying, "Excuse meeeeee......Can I get a bump?"

I think the name was "can I get a bump" or "excuse me." Can't remember, and I don't know why.
