But the current plans for bay link have the "antique style" cable cars, similar to San Francisco's operating all over the beach. Can you imagine with all those cables and those slow moving cars what would happen to traffic on the beach? Alton, Collins, Washington, 5th Street and all other major streets will have only 1 lane for regular cars. It would be a nightmare. pod Posted November 3 Report Share Posted November 3 I hope so...I really think that the beach needs a non-street-bound link to the mainland. Buses and streetcars won't do it one bit. I'm glad to hear he's open to other ideas as well. He needs to clarify that...a lot of people I know think he's anti-transit to the beach.
