In September's mixmag was a free cd by Bongy himself. It wasn't bad at all. Ofcourse it was pro-tooled but the tracks were my kind of sound. It's called 'Deep Funk Theory'

It didn't have a single cheesy track on it. I think he knows better than to go that route at Twilo. We'll just have to wait and see....

Sorry for the duplicate posts, this board crashed at the time I was writing that msg.

Hey I love that cd! Is that what he usually spins when he plays out? It's such a different sound than his mix cds that I've seen in the stores. Anyway he knows that dance music is less popular & less commercial in the US so I bet that he doesn't even play too many of the well known tracks

Yeh he should be OK, he is crap (as a DJ) but he should keep it cheese free.

Somebody do me a favour and see if he has either one or two guys with headphones on in the booth... let me know next week.

Has anyone seen him spin live? Also- Is this his first US visit? I've only heard the essential mix CD's, but knowing how big he is across the sea makes me happy to hear a live set.especially at Twilo - the only reason it may be cheez is cuz he's making the CD - if not he probably would go harder/underground. Either way its worth checking out. - Its not $35 this week, right? I heard $20 with list.

i think he knows who he's dealing with!!! it would get real ugly in there if he begun to spin zombie in there!!!

on a side note...i would love to hear ubik (timo maas)...that song will make your feet hurt!

I have a buddy who just saw him last week in Seattle....played good and hard apparently including Saints and Sinners/ Trisco...and (gulp) Zombiecraft. Thing is, this track was released in the US long before overseas (now MOS dave clark rmx), and this track is being played by many djs over there. At least it won't have the cheesy vocals...I BET and will put money on it that the crowd goes crazy....(to my disgust)

As to him playing the Deep Funk Theory stuff...i hope not. it doesn't have the twilo vibe, and i thought was pretty boring...i would much rather here Trisco alnight!

funny u say that his new sound is boring, I happen to think the same about that 'trisco musak' track. It has no depth.

To be honest, Im not going friday just to see Bongy, Im going for Pappa & Quivver who will deliver the sound I wanna hear. No trisco from them! And certainly no zombie nation remixed either.

Actually this is his BUZZ chart which may be more like what he will play..

But remember the guy spend most of his time with the label and Radio 1. He wont be pulling many unexpected tunes out of his bag.

Well i guess that is why different musical tastes are out there then....i do think he will play "Top 40 Trance" though, if it is anything like his show. I am going to tune in this afternoon and see if they are promoting him at Twilo....anybody know if it is a live broadcast?
