theblueangel
I got out of jury duty last year. I told them I was a student and they said it was no big deal. They don't care if you're part or full time why would you volunteer that info anyway? students are exempt but you better call or write them in advance. if you just don't show up you will be breaking the law I believe.Originally posted by funkyfreshdc i'm freakin out....i got a jury summons today and i'm supposed to be on a grand jury every day for a month in the middle of next semester.do they generally excuse full time students from it or will i need to act really crazy when i show up?penalty for not showing is $300 and/or 7 days in jail.....maybe i'll just do that... therunner
Students should get excused. Plus they may give you a UA the first day of jury selection and if you come up hot you can't be a juror.
