George Acosta's "LOST WORLD" RANKED #1 in it's time slot

Tiger, when Bustersobe wrote that the people have voted, he meant that they voted with their radios and with their ears during that timeslot. What it means is that Sunday night between midnight to 1 AM Party 93.1 is easily the most listened to station in South Florida. Furthermore, The Lost World is the most listened to Dance show based on its ratings. I mean look, a 35 share among any demographic is unheard of in pretty much in any timeslot, and yet The Lost World and George Acosta acheive just that. The show definitely has more than 22 listeners, as some of the Acosta haters would like to believe LOL.

I think the coolest fact here is that it shows that Trance music has an even bigger fanbase with the 25+ crowd, rather than the 18 and under crowd. Some of the guys on this board, who are mainly into Loungy and Tech House, constantly try to sell off Trance as kiddie music. Well, here's your evidence that Trance is actually much bigger than they thought with the "older/mature" crowd.

Bottom line, its great to see that Oakie, Acosta, and Markus all do very well for their timeslots with shows that are devoted to quality Progressive House and Trance.

I just wonder how they come up with those statistics, Do they have a computer that actually monitors the ratings, The amount the listeners the station has?

Here's what the ratings 12+ look like for Miami overrall:

http://www.radioandrecords.com/RRRatings/DetailsPage.aspx?MID=164&RY=2004&RQ=3&MP=0&OTHER=2&MN=Miami-Ft.%20Lauderdale-Hollywood&MS=FL&MR=12&12P=3489800&UP=10/22/2004&SU=CM&BPER=18.9&HPER=40.5&OPER=&NSD=11/23/2004&CE=0

The ratings are conducted in the following way: A company based out of Maryland named Arbitron randomly selects people in each of the ranked markets to participate in the radio ratings by filling out a diary. The survey is conducted over a 7 day period begining with Thursday, and ending on the following Wednesday. Participants are supposed to mark down what radio stations they've listened to on a given day, the times they've listened to the stations, and the duartion of their listening habits.

Let's say you've been chosen, a couple weeks later you receive your diary in the mail, and you're filling out your diary. And let's say that between 7 AM to 9 AM you flip the dial, and from 7:05 to 7:45 you're listening to Party 93.1, and then you decide to listen to Howard Stern over on WQAM up until around 8:50. you'd simply log in either the station's call letters (WPYM or WQAM) or the frequency on the dial, followed by the time of day (7:05-7:45, and 7:45-8:50).

During the time of day that you're not listening to the radio you simply leave those time slots as blank.

Hope that helps.
