eivissa
Hey Everyone: I have been living in south beach for 3 years and the only place that i found that comes close to SF and Tunnel back in the day is Space. Does anyone else who moved here from NY feel like all the clubs here are for people to be seen rather than have fun? Any suggestions- I miss real people!!! Where can I find people who actually like to dance and have fun and not just show off their bodies???

Where can I find people who actually like to dance and have fun and not just show off their bodies???I never went to Tunnel but I went to Sound Factory 3 or 4 times. Jonathan Peters is an awful DJ, first and foremost. But SF had some hot girls (and the unisex bathrooms were great too). Here's a tip: don't rely on venues. Rely on who's throwing the party. Then go with Aquabooty and Lust4House (and X'ess if they happen to be throwing a party here).
patois
i used to go to twilo, webster hall, pyramid (on ave A)...people still liked to show off up there but i grant you, people are a bit more down to earth up there (that sounds like a paradox...lol)i agree...there is a lot more showing off of bodies down here...hence the "post your tits" bit
digitalphoenix
I thinkit has to do with the weather too..Miami is naturally warm/hot so people tend to drop clothes in order to feel comfortable while dancing, as opposed to being layered upfor winter weather up north. Some however take it to an extreme.........Damn Hoochies. But that just my opinion.

Where can I find people who actually like to dance and have fun and not just show off their bodies???the old Space was pretty close to SF ... the new space is a bit to big , and the congestion on the dancefloor is nutz. never seen so many people get on a dancefloor to pose and stand around, but whatever that’s miami. no battles at Space!! LOL OG regulates that mainroom, but you really can’t enjoy it until the club empties out a bit. the terrace at Space for me is always on point. the music is always good, and the vibe is lot different from the mainroom.. my crew and I have a blast whenever we go out. for me it’s more important to surround yourself with peeps that are as nutz as you , that tends to make for a better time all around. btw come check out Fuct3 on December 4th ..you will meet a lot of kewl peeps there. cjholmbe
Hey Eivissa, I just moved to Miami from NYC last year. There is nothing here as intense and amazing as the Tunnel or Sound Factory used to be. I just had a conversation with a friend who is from down here about those places. I've been to clubs all around the world and still think that the Tunnel was the greatest. Something about that space and the people that made the Saturday nights really made the experience amazing. I have not been to any parties down here (just my experience) where they had well thought out and choreographed performances. By your name I am guessing you've been to Ibiza. They do it right over there. But can't say I would compare any of what I've seen over there to Tunnel or SF.A previous response mentioned Aquabooty. I just went to a party of theirs for the first time this past weekend and enjoyed very much. It was an excellent party...but I think you need to forget about finding anything like the Tunnel or SF down here and soak in the warmth, sun and happy friendly people. If you do find anything good let me know. PS> If you have not been to Blue Bar check it out (I think week days are better, but dont go before 2am) Ciao.
deephousemann
I work for Crobar myself and I have to say that one of the few parties that I myself can compare to a NYC party such as SF (when Eddie Baez used to spins there before J.P.), The Tunnel (back when Danny Tenaglia had his residence on Saturday night) lets see can you go as far back as Red Zone, Mars and Quick ??? Well I must say the no additude, throw on your fucking jeans and sneakers and dance your ass off party goes to Aquabooty!!! Good vibes and no stuck of assholes. In fact I went to State for Migs party and it was really funny how I saw a group of 4 prissy Miami bitches standing by the bar like they were hot shit. You can tell that they just didnt fit with the crowd. What was even funnier was that it didnt matter how big the tits were or what a perfect ass they had, no one paid them any mind the whole time I was there!!! LOL

philippio
The real party was 'Be Yourself' at Vinyl (especially before it became Arc).
coachjames
Troll, mayhaps? Or are you serious? Having seen no responses, I'd just have to chalk this up to another bitter northerner jealous of our paradisian lifestyle. Because Miami has some of the best peeps around. I love to hang out at Crobar, State, Amike, Blue, Playwright, Wet Willies, Automatic Slims, and now Onda Lounge. Mansion when it is doing EDM is also awesome. Plus there are lots of hotel and other parties that are also great. All have great, beautiful people who are well-dressed, polite and very friendly. eivissa
Tunnel was my fav too- remember that guy who used to paint himself silver? I have been to Ibiza- it was awesome and very different than anything else I ever experienced- I know Miami is no NY but I just am interesting in finding people out there who have an appreciation for great music- and I can see there are some out there which is good. I'll keep you posted if I hear of any great parties.

Coach James: Thanks- but i am not a troll-lol- don't get me wrong everyone loves beautiful people but I love beautiful people that actually dance and have fun as opposed to standing around all night trying to look good.Miami is a beautiful place and there times where it's fun but I am not jealous of the paradise lifestyle because I am living it- I was curious to know if there are others out there who feel the same as I do and obviously there are. I don't know about the friendliness of people- alot of the girls here are really snobby, not all of course.
eivissa
I think I saw those girls too! It was pretty funny. Everyone just walked by and kept on dancing. Unfortunately, I wasn't going to the Tunnel that far back- I started going in 1997 until around when it closed. But it was a great place where no cared and just had fun- i am glad I got to experience it! By the way, where is Aquabooty and when you say Blue Bar do you mean Blue by Crobar?
