does anyone STILL use masks???

Recommended Posts

I use ninja masks time to time still. You'd be surprised how many people asked me if they can borrow it while im dancing & raving. Even with the ninja mask i do not take any more space than a regular dancer does so its never a problem. I think they only look nice and feel nice (to the one who raves with them) if there's lots of pills involved, otherwise they tend to really piss and annoy people off that are dancing near.

My advice is, if you're a really sick raver with whatever you got that covers your face, definetely dont be scared to do your thing, but if you're a beginner and whatever you do looks cheesy then please do us all a favor throw it out or keep learning at home. If I was dancing at a small space and someone would be raving with masks and I could get hit I'd probably ask the kid to put it away myself and if he was an asshole about it then of course I'd have to beat him down.

Any masks are a nice treat at a club though the one using them better be good at whatever they're doing or using it for.

I think its pure cheese, sorry...I saw them at Tempts this summer and was disgusted; saw them again at Flight in Dec. (Jersey for those who dont know)

it's one thing when you're at Ikon or Avalon and still living in the past...but puhlease refrain from wearing them in the small NJ circuit...it really makes the place look bad

yes, i am guilty of waering masks myself, but I believe the last time was when I saw the DJ deepspell at Hammerstein in '98

i havent worn my carnival parrot mask since they denied me @ the old vinyl...those were the days

I wanna see!! Last time I saw anyone with masks on was @ Roxy last year when AVB was spinnin... it was one of the most unusual club toys I've seen.

I like masks... dunno how to play with them but totally give props to people who use them well. It's really hard and takes some skill & creativity not to look repetitive & stupid... I remember when DT was at Roxy last summer some girl visiting from Brazil whipped out her shoelaces and put her masks on them... wow... whe was amazing! She tried to teach me too and I kept hittin my shins... And yes, even tho it was a DT party, there was a nice circle around her and people were asking to borrow the masks... I know a certain someone here on CP that ROCKS the masks too... I'll let her fess up if she wants to ;)

Anyway, live & let live... except for when the floor's packed and people end up gettin a black eye hehe...

although I wasnt there, my sister was at Crobar where someone was donnin a SCARY CLOWN MASK...kinda like Stephen King's IT...now, that freaked her out...if I was there, I would have lost my shizznitz fo sho...PLEASE REFRAIN FROM USING SCARY MASKS...it scares the little girls who are trippin.... its offensive and you are ruining their roll.

thank you - management

PS- she observed this at a Boris show, hence the masked man was the highlight of the evening

Where are the pros of wearing a mask? they used to be at Exit and Roxy all the time. It was one better than the other. amazing masks, remember those Freddy Kruger masks? Now the club scene changed, too much BS at the door, dress code, guestlists, location of the club, finding parking space, etc..

Masks and Crobar or spirit just doesn't match but I still like to see those pros in masks again. Exit, SF, Roxy, Vinil and Centro-fly on thu's those were the good days in 2001/2002. The good thing that exit and SF closed is because all my friends stop dropping pills and do K. Crobar, spirit is a place to drink and avalon is like a hong kong night club. :vomit2:

small masks that just cover your eyes like zoro are fine.

one of DT's biggest contradictios is to say 'be yourself' and then say 'no you cant have a mask on.' what fascism.

FULL face masks? no thats rude.

but small masks make for a bigger night, think of the old 1990's hands in the air at roxy twilo & many other spots.

theres good music to hear now but the masks are absent.

:lol3:
