Things are messy because they have no clue how to control the flow at a door. being a rude prick only makes it worse. and i'm sorry but taking tips for comp admission is stealing from the club anyway you look at it.

When you approach a club door you need to know 1 of 2 things. (1) general admission (2) guest list/ vip.

It's not that complicated!!!

Both should be CLEARLY MARKED so the customer can see them.

then you dont get a bunch of pissed off customers being ignored at the wrong line, only to be told after waiting to get the door guys attention (that has been doing such a good job trying to ignore them) that they have to now go wait at the end of another line. it's worse than the fucking DMV.

it's not rocket science.

* 2 little signs!! 1. GENERAL ADMISSION 2. GUEST LIST/ VIP

* Always be nice

* Tell people whats going on. dont ignore them. tell them they are in the wrong line, tell them they are at the wrong club, tell em they are not dressed right, tell the group of 10 guys they need to find some dates.

tell em something: people hate to be ignored (you may as well be telling them to fuck off & thats how they are going to act once they get in your door)

Preach on, Marlon. :type:

You got some very valid points in there.

the door at Nocturnal may be bad, but it is still ealry in the game with the club

But Crobar's door is still one big clusterfuck every weekend and has been for years. I don't see many people complianing about Crobar. Opium, Prive, Mansion, Mynt, are all pain in the asses

Crobar's is bad? I've not noticed that, even before I was a "regular." I always thought they had one of the more organized doors. Of course, that's only compared to other clubs, so...

I am a big supporter of the sign idea, but I'd amend it to 3:

1) General admission.

2) Guestlist.

3) VIP.

Have the person WITH the guestlist working line #2. This is often a problem at many clubs that I've been to, the guestlist person just wanders around.

As I've said before, I don't mind a club with a door policy, but like musicislife said, make it CLEAR. And keep it moving. If someone does not fit your policy, TELL THEM, don't just ignore them and leave them standing. That way, they can move on, get out of the way, and go spend their money somewhere else. Oh... wait... I think I see the plan, now.
