Join us on Thursday August 4th at Vertigo for a night of breakbeats as we welcome two very talented guests, Kares and Chad Will! :clap2:

KARES

Rapidly becoming a recognizable face in the dance scene, Kares has been enamoring party-goers across the U.S. as her infectious positive attitude envelopes dance floors both big and small while dropping her signature funky, progressive sound. Her innate ability to get the crowd moving stems from her long-time passion for dance music, years spent as a cheerleader by day, and nightclub employee in the evening.

Spending most of her time in clubs in both Boston and NYC, Kares cites her initial inspiration for jumping on the decks to the likes of great DJ’s such as Ferry Corsten, Armin Van Buuren, and Paul van Dyk. She also credits several DJ/producer friends for teaching her the tricks of the trade.

Kares has an energetic, refreshing style that fades the boundaries of several genres. From progressive trance to breaks and back on through, Kares takes you on a funky ride that will keep you dancing all night. She has had monthly residency in Springfield as well as traveled all over the country to cities like: Pittsburgh, Jackson, Memphis, Seattle, Portland, Philadelphia, San Diego and Tampa. Kares has played a variety of parties in Boston, and was one of the featured DJ’s at the ‘MySpace 2004 Halloween Party’ at Axis.

This past spring took Kares on an adventure through some East Coast party cities, New Orleans for Mardi Gras and of course, Miami for WMC 05. Here, her gigs included the XM Radio broadcast ‘CSI Miami’ party at Harrison’s with D:Fuse, in addition to the well-on-its-way-to-infamy ‘Plastic Sex’ party that featured a Boston vs. NYC DJ showdown.

From manning warm-up duties for DJ’s such as Icey, Baby Anne, and Simply Jeff, to rockin’ out unique peak-time sets in various locales, Kares has well-beyond proven that from here, there is nowhere to go but up!

CHAD WILL

Chad first became involved with the Boston scene in 2003. A frequent supporter of nights such as: Analog Lounge, Defmatch (one of Boston’s first all breaks events), and Square One. As a young producer, Chad experimented and learned the ropes by writing dark, layered, bass heavy house that was becoming popular at the time. Not meeting his own expectations, Chad truly focused on perfecting his writing ability, as well as finding a sound he was comfortable with. It was at this time Chad’s love affair with break beats began.

While still working on his productions in 2004, he also hosted a live radio show on the Florida based ‘Orbital Grooves Radio’. Around this time, Chad began establishing solid relationships with other DJ’s and producers such as Rhythm Bound’s Jay Allegro, renowned producer Paul Johnston of Psychatron Fame, and a slew of growing Boston talent. His productions began to take new life, and after months of hard work he was truly seeing improved quality in his music.

Most recently in 2005, Chad was selected as one of four winners (out of hundreds of entries) of the Beatport Remix Competition. The prize was being given the opportunity to remix the timeless track by Danny Howells, ‘Breathe’. Look for Chad’s remix to be released soon!

Umm, what was up w/little Russia down stairs??

I was in the bathroom waiting for Alex and all these Russian broads ran in and were yelling in each others faces in Russian, then giggling, then grinding, then yelling in English WTF?

Then when I was going back upstairs I saw the freak shows rocking back and forth holding each other on the dance floor and singing some GHEY anthem they were playing down there.

Please note, this down stairs area of the club is totally seperate from where KARES was playing.

So like yeah downstairs is gross.

I think Scavy was behind all of this.
