MYLO CANCELS!

12-1-06

For Immediate Release

A Lees and West Announcement

MYLO CANCELS BIG DAY OUT AND SATELLITE SHOWS DUE TO ILLNESS

The BIG DAY OUT regrets to announce that dance act MYLO has been forced to cancel both his BIG DAY OUT and solo appearances in Australia due to illness.

A representative from MYLO’s camp delivered the news…

“Myles contracted a virus over the New Year which resulted in partial hearing loss in one ear. Unfortunately the situation has since worsened and he has lost hearing in one ear completely, and has only partial hearing in his other ear. He was hoping that a couple of days rest would help regain his hearing. However, since his arrival in Cape Town for a show and receiving specialist medical treatment, unfortunately no progress has been made. As a result of this, he is grounded in Cape Town and unable to move at the moment. As you can probably imagine it is impossible for him to perform right now and therefore we regretfully have to cancel the BIG DAY OUT shows.â€

hope he gets better soon.....the man is a fuckin genius!

Mylo's great...hope he recovers and plays NYC soon...

Yeah, I have good hearing and worry about losing it by being in clubs 2-3 times a week. Now I wear these most of the time:

Inexpensive, and they work great: I can actually hear better, talk to people easier, and appreciate the music with these bad boys. Can't recommend them enough to all you frequent clubbers, esp for those places that think a LOUD soundsystem is a substitute for CLEAR.....

EarLove Earplugs

READ MORE: Home Entertainment: Audio

EarLove are earplugs designed for (and by) people who love live, loud music, but just can’t hang with losing their ability to hear. Using the same technology that’s in the high-end, custom-fitted Etymotic Musician’s Earplugs (which go for about $150 a pop), the EarLoves reduce sound across all frequencies by about 20 decibels, which means you won’t lose any of the details that make live music so great—you just won’t lose your Ninja Assassins Union card. You can pick up a pair in a variety of colors for just $15 a pop, plus shipping and such, using the needlessly-Flash website.

Update: Chris Laurence points out that these are likely just Etymotic ER-20s, all pretty plastic upped. If you don’t mind the drab colors, the ER-20 can be found even cheapers.

Update Update: Belay all that. You can get the ER-20 in the same colors. I don’t know why they’re selling these twice-over.

A little bit of digging brought this about ... im going to order mine today!
