andwhysee
the cure isn't really 'synth pop' they are more like alternative-goth-dance-freak rock. i don't think u can call DM the king of synth pop in the 80s, they are shoulder to shoulder with new order, erasure and pet shop boys.they were all good bands..i miss them
sobeton
Have to agree with Andwhysee Depeche Mode for sure. You have to give props to New Order, Erasure, and Pet Shop Boys. Depeche Mode is my favorite Band of all time !!!Peace,Sobeton
djgeorgec
I would have to say Depeche Mode. They change something about their sound with every new album. Plain and simple - they are inovators and they are the still pumping out great music today.
pulsedriver
Robert SMith is a GOD!!!Both the Cure and Depeche Mode are legends and even though the Cure is the most amazing band Depeche Mode represents more of the "synth pop" Genre. k_car
a tough one... i actually like the cure better, but i would have to say DM for their innovative musice.yes, props to erasure and new order ------------------ *************************"Strangers are just friends waiting to happen." - Old Sage Twilo*************************

mysteriousss
DM gets my vote for sure.. I don't really like the old albums of The Cure, but their 2000 album (bloodflowers) is sooo good.
roxxy0131
The Cure 100% Bloodflowers is a great album. Saw them at the Roseland for the release of the album...what a great concert! I can't tell you how wonderful they are.
quanto_magnus
I'd have to go with DM as well. I think the Cure are great, but like someone said already, they don't exactly fit the synth pop genre. ------------------ Hugha.k.a. ibhugh, Bryan Adamsemail: ibhugh@yahoo.comaolim: hugesk8r

ichi_gami
DM and Pet Shop Boys are pretty close, amybe even tied. The Cure, while my personal preference in '80s music, is a little too goth-pop to really fall into the same class as PSB or DM.------------------LEARN THE RULES SO YOU KNOW HOW TO BREAK THEM PROPERLY. Jilly
well...DM is my fav all-time band..but to answer the question...I think thatnew order/joydivision/808 state etc. takes the cake for 80's synth pop...------------------" I give in to sin ..Because you have to make this life liveable "-DMSmoknjilly@aol.com
diehardone
THE CURE IS MY CHOICE.I THINK THERE IS A CURE REMIX BY OAKIE OF LOVE SONG SOME WHERE OUT THERE.
Guest jared
I must say that DM is also my all time favorite band (and a natural aphrodisiac)but the cure's music is more complex and broad in natureBoth their music deserves to be remixed more (even though Oakenfold did a shitty remix of "its no good")------------------"JARED" GUESTLIST:::::GET REDUCED ADMISSION TO EXIT FRIDAYS
