Hello All,

I'm coming out to Vegas and staying at the Hard Rock from May 12-15th. First off, we want to do it right, no lines..prefer VIP, anybody know of VIP hosts? As for music, most are into the EDM scene, some are into Hip Hop, basically where ever the best party is. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Vince

Their are tons of hosts in vegas. some from other countries that charge like 200 a head to get in a club, some have one or two employees and actually live and work in the vegas nightclub industry. You also dont get what you pay for.

It is true that prices can get quite expensive, depending on the size of the party, whether or not you are reserving a table, and the venue that you are trying to get into.

An important question to ask yourself if you are a tourist is...could you get into the venue by yourself without any assistance? Another question to ask yourself is...could you get a table reserved by yourself at a top nightclub without any assistance? If the answer to either one of these questions is no, the money paid to a host is justified.

If you pay a host to get you into Pure, and he does get you in, you got exactly what you paid for.

hey mr vip, not saying hosts dont get people hooked up, but i will say this, i can as a limo driver in vegas for 6 years now can call up to a club and 90% of the time get any size group into any club in town for generally half the price of any VIP host in town. I have had people call me and say they got charged 175 a head to get into a club, no bottle service, no table nothing, just to get in. I think there are to many RIP off hosts, or hosting companies that are taking advantage of the lack of knowledge of tourists and its sad.It makes the good hosts in town look bad. I can say that i have been doing hosting for 6 years, and i still today have clients from then calling me today. I was doing hosting when all it was was little pieces of cardboard 2inches by 4 inches.

Depends on the weekend. My spot was charging $200 for skip/entry last fight weekend. Also, on a holiday $50 cover and $100 slide is reasonable at the top spots.

Major weekends, fight weekends, major dj events, and similar, sure. Id spend even more to hear some great djs.

But will you do that for just anyone? I assume you offer that sort of treatment only for limo clients who book a fair amount of time in your ride.

If you really want to talk about deals, a sizable group of my friends had dinner at Boa last weekend. Before they ordered dessert one of them asked the manager about Pure, and the manager in turn set them up with a prime table in the main room; they walked over with one of the hostesses from Boa and went right in with no waiting.

So how do you view that? On the one hand they didn't have to pay a host or anyone else any sort of fat tip to set up a table at Pure on a busy night. On the other hand, you know they dropped a load of cash at dinner.

Whether VIP host or limo driver or restaurant or casino host, one way or another, people are going to make their money...

Yes on a weekly basis. Special events things can get expensive, but what i said was is that i a people having to pay 175-200 a head just to get in. I dont care if its 20 guys at pure, just to get in, hell no. I guess that im one person and i send alot of people to the clubs, usually 4-7 groups average a night, but even the way i setup packages,, even 175 will get a free bottle with the limo waiting and vip service and me still walk away with a grip. There are 2 booking sites, and i will not reveal who they are but they charge people out the ass for limos, clubs, hotels, and whatever else.

Yes tables get expensive, but when i charge a client to purchase tables or cabanas its for entry, the table and usuallu the minimal bottles per table. Anything over that is taken care of by them. All my clients get the treatment. not one or two, but all, they pay for a service. I have been taking care a large beer maker for 8 years now. They call on sun and want 3 days of golfing for 30-50 people, dinner , and night clubs and limos to accomodate, they know that it will be done with no out of pocket expense for the people actually in the vehicle

I love working in vegas, i love my job. I work 4 nights a week and get paid to party, my beer people call me their life coach, i laugh.

No argument here, and I'm right with you when you say that there are more than a few hosts and websites out there that are charging exorbitant rates. It should also be mentioned that there are quite a few doormen and club hosts that similarly fleece clubgoers.

Sounds like you're the kind of person who sets a baseline on what you want to make throughout the course of an evening and/or for certain activities, rather than the kind of person that insists on working a high percentage. Or worse, charging based on the naivete of the client. I'd also wager that you're someone who is at least minimally selective about what you'll do for certain clients.

Speaking as someone who conducts their business in a similar fashion (albeit in a different industry), I have a lot of respect for anyone that works in this manner.

Truth is, I don't mind that there are dozens upon dozens of self-proclaimed "hosts" that are charging ridiculous rates. I've done my homework and I know who's fair and who's not, who's in the business because they love what they do versus who's in the business because they see it as an easy buck.

All this said, expense is just like beauty: it's in the eye of the beholder. Spending $200 per head simply to skip the line may sound ridiculous to you and I, but to those with disposable income it's a drop in the bucket. These are the same people who don't hesitate to shell out $400 per weekend night at the Hard Rock, when the very same room often goes for $79 Sunday-Thursday.

And let's be honest: stories about people spending $200 to skip the line contribute greatly to the overall image of the Vegas club scene. :)
