you get suspended for hard fouls. maybe the NBA should have players hug each other after they foul... LMAO guess the NBA forgot when Shaq hard fouled Stackhouse in Game 1, causing him to get stitches..

there was a big difference.... that was an elbow in the low post that happened to hit stackhouse, not a blatent football style tackle with no attempt at the ball whatsoever while shaq had a clear path to the basket..... definitely warranted a suspension for stackhouse while the hit in game one was just a casualty of going up against the big fella in the post - big difference- learn basketball before you make stupid remarks - GO HEAT

lesson one - the low post is where the post players such as shaq or haslem wait for the entry pass with their backs to the basket. Once they catch it they either pass to an open man or pivot to face the basket in order to shoot. With someone of shaq's height players are often hit by his elbow as that is where their head is just because of his size when shaq turns to face the basket. many people catch elbows from shaq in the post and most are not fouls. Its just what comes with going against a big man like oneil - what stackhouse did was illegal and intentional and clearly a foul worth a suspension. thank god he hit someone as big as shaq - imagine if he took that same shot at jason williams?? someone could've gotten seriosly hurt.... now back to whats important:

LETS GO HEAT!!!

Shaq's size makes it ridiculously difficult to officiate him… Shaq travels more then a frequent flyer, shoves rebounders out of the way, etc. . . . the only time that Shaq doesn't foul first IMO, is when he gets the ball right under the basket. it's understandable that NBA ref's are reluctant ,to call fouls against star players. Stakehouse’s foul in the general scheme of how this series has been officiated, is nothing worthy of full game suspension.. it's really that simple...

tony, it shouldn't have been surprising. should posey have gotten suspended for his shoulder check to hinrich? AND he was thrown out of the game.

i think it's bogus. just like every time harris flops, dirk flops...and everyone else in the league flops, to get a call. but that's just the way the league is nowadays.

everyone knows the rules. it's how you adjust to them that helps you win games.

that's why riley and jackson have won so many championships. that's why the heat is in position to win one now. it's about adjustments. the heat has made them. dallas has not.

it's really that simple.

frank, the rules are applied arbitrarily, and should not be… it's rather unfortunate, but that's just the nature of the beast. when it comes to how calls are made, and how we as fans judge them. objectivity becomes rather subjective, based on your alliance. I'm quite sure the nature of this debate would be quite different, if the cards where flipped. ultimately, the best one can do is just suck it up and play... :)
