Ever wondered what the "fog" machine is at Space?

Some call it the fog. Some idiots call it steam, even though it is very cold and steam is water vaporizing at very high temperatures.....

I referred to it as "cold nitrous fog" in my Magik Muzik review...and I wish I had learned this sooner, but it is actually a patented by a man named Alejandro Gonzalez....he calls it

Kryogenifex"....some call it the kryo machine for short. It is a Cryogenic special effect.

check out the website.

im pissed I didnt research this for the review...

You guys ain't learned yet. If you got a technical question about anything being used in clubs, ask pod.

Of course. I'm socially inept. Engineering and machines are so much easier to deal with.

;D

How many of you want to know what the PSI is in the pipes from the main tank?

Up until a few years ago only 3 clubs in the world had this machine. Crobar Miami was one of them....

Crobar NYC has it, but ive only seen it used once...

NYC hasnt had it since twilo, so it was funny for me to watch everyone----

the machine in NYC does a deep loud intense hissing sound before exploding (like amnesia in Ibiza) so everyone here was covering their ears and not understanding...they thought it was some sort of technical difficulty....i was laughing, and saying, "noooo dont cover your ears, its ok."

I care too, Dan-- to satisfy curiousity and for general enlightenment as well.

ask pod, or EV

How expensive is it for space to douche the crowd indoors? Sometimes I wonder why they don't blow it more often (like when they haven't blown it for 2.5 hours and tiesto hasn't let up at all)... then I've been at nerve where they blast you to the point of blindness every 10-15 min...

-thanks

Not sure how much it is per shot, but Space has a huge central tank, so there's a bulk discount on filling it up.

Nerve is different, they have a few little tanks out back, and lately they shoot it only 2 or 3 times a night...

i know they probably done exist....but where can i get a mini nitrous machine for the land!?!?!?!?!?!?! ???

It's actually not a machine of sorts, Each Kryogenifex install is custom. Each system consists (basically, I may forget a few items) of a tank, hose, control box, valves, and pipes.

The control box is a Kryogenifex patent, you can only get it from them.

A ghetto-rigged version wouldn't be too hard to engineer....just a tank or two with the valve attached, and some pipe...the downside is that you'd have to have someone run to where the tank is to trigger it, since no handy control box would be available. Plus, being that it is freezing cold gas (way below zero at the exit point), i'm sure safety does come into play.

On average, a system for a medium-sized club probably will set you back around $5,000. Space is probably around $40,000 or so factoring the nozzles and central tank design.

Kryogenifex does make mobile systems though, which probably don't cost as much...hit them up for a quote.

Ok, the term nitrous is being used here... they shoot out liquid nitrogen (N2), not nitrous oxide (NO2) correct? I'd think if it were the latter we'd get numerous people laughing uncontrollably and/or passing out... somebody?
