sfcraz01
What does everyone think? Who would be some of the most over rated DJ's?
fearlessnyc00
SFCRAZ01-- Good topic! Now I know this is gonna start mad drama but, I can' help it. There is only one name that comes to mind-------------->DRAPER! And I think you(sfcraz)will most deff agree.
panoba
Local DJ's I would have to say Jared Scream, he sucks so bad. Actually the only local DJ worse then him is Mike Ski, heard him once and he is awful. Out of the international DJ's would have to be Sandra Collins, heard her once and I was disappointed. Just my thoughts.
donvito
And so it begins. Lets stop the bashing before it gets to big to handle. Draper moves the people. He does his job and he does it well. He has defaintly evolved since he started.Luv and Lodi are defaintly the most overrated dj's in nyc. ------------------"The Future's uncertain and the end is always near...so who's holding on?""Stop Whispering, Start Shouting"AOL IM--->DonVito486

dmerces
lillizzy I agree. We all have our off nights but for the most part Tony Draper holds his own and when he is on he can blow up most spots. There are too many Tony Draper bashing threads and its starting to get old now, don't let this be another one. Overrated DJ's would have to be Luv & Lodi------------------"Anybody can mix two records together but it takes a DJ to be able to do it creativley and make new sound out of that music" --A great wise man"Spinning is like creating a new world in that room for that one night. You create a one night oblivion where nothing outside that room matters, all that matters is feeling the music and loving every second of it." --Another great wise man
ckayser
Razor. I can't tell you how many times I've seen and heard how much he sucks from everyone and their grandmother. If I don't hear a good perfomance out of Chris the Greek he might start to fall into that class too. Saw him @ Bridgeview last summer and a month or so ago when I went to Tunnel. Not too impressed. fearlessnyc00
I agree with luv and lodi also. But, you really don't hear people bashing them as much on the board(or just talking about them good or bad) as you do Draper. That is why Draper is more over rated. clubgodraver
draper nows how to move the crowd...he plays for the crowd. he is not overrated.------------------ "There is no guestlist tonight"
spd1980
I think Draper has become a lot better of a DJ. Last summer nobody really talked about him that much and now everybody raves about Draper. Lately he has been spinning newer stuff. He still drops the occasional oldies but he has been playing a lot more songs that I haven't heard before. I used to be able to ID a lot of the songs he played but now a lot of them are new to me. He has also produced a few good songs now. I would say that he is on his way to becoming a better DJ. He has his own crowd now, he is able to get the place going, he is making his own music, and he does deserve some credit. He might not be a JP or DT but you can't really compare these DJ's to each other since they all have their own style of crowd and music. Draper isn't better than JP or DT but he is definitely moving up. It is also a matter of people's taste in music which makes them bash Draper. It seems that the music he plays appeals to a younger crowd where as the music JP plays appeals to an older crowd. So basically I don't think Draper is being overrated it is just that he gets a lot of praise by people on the board.

frankiepep
oh this a good one ...Jonathan Peters or Tony DraperI agree that JARED SCREAM is WIZACK( & it jus goes to show you that it's all about who you know & not what you know) BUT on the other hand i dissagree about MIKE SKI, he used to rock ENVY in Philly ... p.s. - anyone see the kid @ SF (this past weekend) with the " EXIT SUCKS" shirt on??? tranza
Luv & Lodi will put Draper to shame and thats a fact.. They play actual "Music", not the NOYZEE you will hear in Exit all night long.. People say he plays for his crowd.. Well then that doesnt say much for his crowd now does it.. Only hype Draper gets is off this messageboard.. He doesnt get praised anywhere else.. I never hear anyone that knows their music say anything good about him.. Just listen to his latest "Rhythm Ready" ------------------..Something for your mind, your body, and your soulIt's the power, it's larouse curiosity.. The purpose, the goal which one acts on.. djustinh
A-Luv and Lodi will put Draper to shame? In all due respect then why is the energy so much more fierce at exit, then sf on a Friday night.Tranza, I had a small room at exit, well not that small, and there was more energy in that room for 7 hours, then all of the times I attended sf fridays.Personally I dont think Aluv or Lodi are any better, if not just as good as Tony. And I have been listening to Luv and Lodi longer than Tony.Justin------------------... to those who wait, good things shall comeThe speakers were kicking out deep bass deep bass deep baaaaaass.Email: En0rgize@aol.com

hard_house
Luv & Lodi (When have either of them EVER played anywhere that they weren't throwing the party and thus putting themselves on the bill?) The WORST was when they made a flyer that had their pics on the front like a JP flyer and says "Love and Lodi - A musical journey. SF Fridays, it's all about the music" I almost died laughing ha ha ha how about "SF Fridays it's all about putting promoters on to DJ" lolalso Draper is very overrated------------------Beat Me Harder. The question is not how many people he spins for but that people think he has skill because all those people attend exit. The only reason all those people go there is because there is no place else to go,you can get all cracked out, and its not hard to move a crowd of 5000 when they are all rolling there asses off. That requires no skill. Over rated--yes These are the reasons people go there and like him, not because he is a good DJ, thats what makes him over rated.Second of all---If he is so good why don't they put him in saturday's,Why? Because no one over 21 who's been in the club scene for a while wouldn't go any where he is spinning. And they would not be able to compete with Peters at Factory, Denni at World, and don't forget Borris somewhere, since they took him out of saturday's for the super DJ Draper. Exit sat's would be done.
