Guest coach
So, seriously, I'd be interested in hearing what everybody thinks the point of life is. And, if you like, don't limit yourself to "the" point, if you think there are more. Dogbert says, "Don't think of yourself as an organic pain collector rushing to obliviou." So, have at it, if that is not what it's all about, what IS it about?

Guest Cosmigonon
Well, sorry James, I'm being totally honest. I was gonna say what adam posted, but other than that, there really is no point. If you want to have some theory on what you think the point of life is, well, that's another story, you can make up anything you want... Guest rhythmburn
life is a journey through various emotional/physical states....i think of it as a proving ground for what may come next
Guest lyrik
Okay - okay on the mundane level the point seems to be just as Adam pointed out in the illustration, but do we all actually believe within a shadow of a doubt that theory or any other for that matter 100% whole heartedly – some may protest they do but I believe no man/woman is without doubts...my point being is that whatever the point of life exactly is we have probably perverted it over the years and misconstrued it through religions ...not that I am not religious...I just think a lot has been lost in translation...anyways...back to my point again...even though we may think we are such an advanced race so on and so forth (evolution dictates this - blah blah blah) its just inconceivable that are limited minds can grasp the actual meaning of life and further more the entity that gave us our lives and created everything around us...in the great span of the universe we don't even equate to a fly on the wall. I believe in positive and negatives…lets call them energies and cause and effect…the question of where do we go after we die…is there heaven and hell…some people believe when you die you live on in the last thought that passes your mind (i.e. find a happy place) – I’m not too opposed to that thinking but also I’m interested in a lot of other “theoriesâ€â€¦either way I always keep asking one question...and a question that really has no definite answer that I can see in this life (why?)…and if there is an afterlife...maybe I won't even know then...maybe that’s just another dimension, reality or possibility in a long line of life equations...I just find it hard to believe that its all for nothing...that everything out there and here means nothing and we are just essentially born to die....I mean just look at the things that are out there...quasars and supernovas - black holes...do we really believe just somewhere these things just said hey lets pop up and just "BE" where did they come from...you can scientifically try to explain but never actually define down to the origin of it all....its just way beyond our minds eye...so I take a part of religion (faith) and believe that there is a purpose grander than we can consciously acknowledge. Guest JMT
just remember this... wherever we all end up after we pass on from this rock, we are going to be there a hell of a lot longer than where we are now. so don't worry so much and enjoy this little bit of time as it passes. Guest dahzel
to live, suffer then die... :-\sorry guys im blah today!not blah =)i agree ... life is a lesson in suffering (among other things)agreed more or less................ but unfortunately it is that simple. darwin's theory of only the strongest survive is a big part of it. i think that we, as humans, rule this planet because we are the smartest animals on the planet. by far not the strongest. if a tiger or bear or any other animal that could rip a human to shreds were smarter than humans than they would dominate the planet. life is so delicate that it almost has no meaning. it is a cruel world out there for animals and humans. a baby was drowned in a port-o-potty a couple of days ago in dade. what was the point of that life? it is a cruel world. it is a shitty, almost depressing way of looking at things but in a way it makes you value the short time we have on this planet even more. to me, life is such a gift that we didn't earn, it just happens. every second on this planet is a gift. then if you are lucky enough to share love w/ someone or to have a family, travel the world and see what else is out there, or just live a full and healthy life, then you are trully lucky. why are we living here? why not in lebanon or the darfur region in south africa? it is merely chance to be lucky enough to be born here and not in some shit hole where the life expectancy is nothing. all said, we should just enjoy every second of life to it's fullest because in the next second we never know what will happen. Guest Marina22
It varies between each individual of course but it is what you make of it. For me it is having some family, some friends that you care about (some b/c you don't need alot) for a grounding support group. Having your loved one to share life with is a plus b/c then it's like having your family and friend rolled into one. You can have a great career and make lots of money and that may make you happy. So I guess happiness is a goal to strive for but one must be satisfied with onself to be "happy". Besides that the things that make me happy like dance music and traveling before the world gets more fucked up than it is. Oh yeah, procreation but nowadays it's just called sex. As far as the point, well to enjoy the time we have on this earth inbetween the work and struggle that we endure. We live to work and work to live but that's just straight depressing. Guest Adam Singer
I was in downtown Boise, Idaho, and I saw a duck, and I knew the duck was lost, 'cause ducks ain't s'posed to be downtown. There's nothin' for 'em there. So I went to a Subway sandwich shop, I said, "Let me have a bun." But she wouldn't sell me just the bun, she said that I had to have something on it. She told me it's against regulations for Subway to sell just the bun. I guess the two halves ain't supposed to touch. So I said, "Alright, well, put some lettuce on it," which she did. She said, "That'll be $1.75." I said, "It's for a duck." And they said, "All right, well, then it's free." See, I did not know that. Ducks eat for free at Subway! Had I known that, I would have ordered a much larger sandwich. "Let me have the Steak Fajita Sub - but don't bother ringing it up, it's for a duck! There are six ducks out there, and they all want Sun Chips!"
