shadowchaser Posted December 30 Report Share Posted December 30 Twilo needs a new roof 'cause Anthony Pappa blew it off last night!We show up around 11pm and Slacker was spinning and he was good...some really nice dark trance too...reminded me of Jimmy Van M. a little bit.Then Pappa got on at 2am...and holy shit...he was on fire. It was the hardest and darkest set I ever heard him play. He blew away his sets that he did back in August and back in October with Tong. He started bangin' from 2am on...he fully tested the Phazon speakers...I know, I was sitting right on them. I only recognized one track from his set and it was Pushing Too Hard from Saints & Sinners. If anyone knows what else he played...tell us...I wanna know. He started and went all the way to the top...he never came back down and he took us with him. He was making Slacker jump around in the dj booth. His mixing was flawless. He was amazing last night...he left around 5 or 5:30, I think...He left on top too...then Cass came in and in my opinion I think he couldn't deliver after Pappa's set. Got there at like 3:30 or so with Mikey and Pappa was pretty fuckin HOT.......I didnt know what to expect from him..but I was impressed.I also really enjoyed Cass's set. He played some great tunes also. They ended up playing Saints and Sinners again for the encore at 7 am. by that time I was sooo exhausted.....the redbulls and ephedrine wore off and I had ben sober for like an hour or two.Then BOOOOOOOOOM walk outside and there is like 6 inches of Snow...and nooooooo cabs.I walked with some people to the subway about 8 blocks away. It was actually miserable but quite beatiful at the same time. when the city gets deserted like that and it is snowing so hard It really is a beautiful city.well...thats all for me about last night. To the few heads i saw out last night Mikey, Steve, Dave , Charlie, Frank,Sariman.....ummmmmmmmmm anyone else?????? oh yeah to the TWILOGODDESS, it was great meeting you last night, I love your collar...hehehe. HOLY SHIT!The place was nuts and it was pure chaotic progressive trance during his entire set. Cass had nothing in comparison to what Anthony Pappa was laying down track after track.To add to the list of songs played by Mr. Pappa, you can add Underworld's "Dark and Long" (Dark Train).
