TWILO DRAMA>>>>"Asian comment"

Hello Everyone,

I though i would put in my own little comment, about how people are being treated at Twilo. First, From what i hear people are being "told to Leave" on some night's. This happened to a few of my friends who were not Asian. But!! it also happened to a very lovely lady, who was. I dont really no what to say. Yes its fucked up. And yes it makes me wanna bust some Shit up. But its nothing New, Hey its fucking New York, And some people dont have a clue. But if you are feeling this way towards a specific group of people,(by saying nasty Racist comments) then FIRST, u should not be there.

NY's Club Scene is Based on a Very Diverse Culture, Black, white, gay, asian, bla bla bla....everyone should be excepted.

Hunny lets just face it, Ny has gone DOWWWN hill. But we Move on, and change with it.

and to people who have been Harmed or hurt by something a bouncer said or did, or by another clubber. Simply say" go fuck your self" make a scene, throw a drink, do something BOLD. and simply dont go back. That's what i think works the best. i havent been back to Exit since i was "fag Bashed"

Because i will not put my self in a place were i feel Un-safe, or "not wanted"

anyway,

im gonna open a club soon, were the bouncer's are saSSy Asian Chick's

and the Go Go Dancer's are black/white Gay men. And the Bar tender's are whitty Lesbion's and we can mock all the Racist Scum. Hahaha.

good point...i don't think ny is going downhill, however i do think there are alot of ignorance with some people at clubs...i did hear that people at twilo were just being grabbed and thrown out, thats y i quikly moved away from the exit signs hahaha!! anyway...your gonna have ignorance and bashing no matter where you go. but your right it shouldn't be expected at a club...i mean i thought the music was about friends getting together, having a good time and doint whatever makes them happy...

You know I think this may have all come on the back of the Exit problems where people Say they WERE told they couldn't get in because they were Asian.

But what does seem clear is that random people are getting thrown out. I would suggest one of two issues

1) Twilo are letting too many people through the door, and as Casey has said there was a fire inspector who probably told them to get some people out. Then bouncers go round looking for people to throw out. Now bouncers aren't the most intelligent people and most I have met have had prejudices MAYBE they are picking more Asian, maybe not. BUT the fact stands that Twilo is letting too many people in.

What would it take to make sure that doesn't happened $40 worth of equipment per person on the doors.

2) Twilo is kicking people out as they said 'when they suspect' people are taking drugs to let more people in. As Twilo Boss said, when they suspect. ARE bouncers trained to spot people on drugs? Well I am not sure but what I do know is if your pissed or on loads of redbull your pupils can dilate and you can look wide eyed etc.

So number 1, we have useless management who cannot put simple me measures to stop potentially dangerous over crowding.. they put your life at risk.

Number 2 everybody is a criminal and the bouncers!?!? are the police and it's up to them to decide who goes and who stays.

Could you imagine.. lets just say... if somebody like bastardino was a bouncer at Twilo.. maybe not him but somebody with the same values. We could potentially see lots of minorities being thrown out.

It may not be as sinister as it seems, but I know something is going on because I trust Casey unreservedly.

No offense, but isn't this the second time that you(blueangel) were thrown out of a club. The last thread was about boycoting Exit, now Twilo! Where are you going to go to now? I never knew that there was so much anomosity towards asian people. I never met an asian person, especially a women, who wasn't really cool and down to earth. What is the old saying "fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on me" I hope there is still aclub you can party at and not get thrown out of! Good luck!

I feel sorry for them also..if only they would learn how to mingle, get off the fucking stairs..lay off the drugs..smile a bit (gotta fix their teeth first though)..be more friendly..I really pity blueangel, ezdreamer, brackraven, all of them...don't know where they are going next..they gonna make a move to Limelight..then what?..what a pity..they run from exit to twilo..then bash exit, SF..now they bash Twilo..move to limelight, vinyl..what next?..

Ummmmm wrong person. I never said anything about Exit. I think you're talking about Kitty19.

As far as Exit is concerned. At least they don't take our money and wait an hour and throw us out. They just tell us at the door. Unlike Twilo.

I'm sorry things turned out to be so dissapointing.

It gets to a point where you go so many times to a club you reach a high level of comfort with the place including both people and staff. For me that place was the Roxy back during Big Roxy Fridays. I never missed a Friday. If something like that were to happen to me back then, it probably would have soured the whole experience.

All I can say is hang on to the great memories - they are what they are. After this, Twilo doesn't deserve your $$.

Whenever I go to Limelight, I always has a great time. I believe that will be my new home.

I completely agree with what Likmylipz had to say about how no matter what race, color, background, nationality, blah blah blah a person is, there are always going to be people that don't like them for what or who they are. This is true, and I agree but I also strongly agree with blueangel because as I was standing outside on the night of PVD, all the people that got kicked out had to stand across the streets (away from the line)and 25 out of 30 kids were asian. A few of them were my friends and when asked the reason why they were kicked out, they seemed to have no clue. All they told me was that the bouncer grabbed them and showed them the door without even given the chance to ask what the reason was. All they could do was to storm away angry as hell. Seeing this upset me as I saw more and more asian kids being escorted out the side door. Twilo's bouncers are dicks and I think when it comes to their job, they get too carried away. They're only bouncers, not a damn secret agent! They swear they were trained to pick out druggies like dogs sniff out drugs. On top of that, they are rude, ignorant and smelly. Majority of them are black if I'm not mistaken, and I thought that above all people they would be the one to understand what being a minority feels like. Seems like when the position is turned around, they get a little lost with power. I wanted to go to a relaxing night of clubbing, listening to PVD play some awesome music, but that night turned out to be hell for me. They seem to care more about making quick cash and kicking people out so they can squeeze more people in than to have guest Djs and go for a night of love, friendship and music. I have never complained about any other club before and I thought I never would, but this was the last straw. Twilo has gotten to my last nerves and I am definetly through with Twilo from now on. Although some of my favoite Djs spin there, I wouldn't want to go back there... instead there are othe rplaces like Exit, Limelight, SF, Tunnel, Twirl,etc.

What you need to realize is that to club owners you are nothing more than a dollar sign. All they want is your $ at the door b/c they're not getting it at the bar. To the bouncers you're nothing more than an anonomous crack head (weather you do drugs or not)and to most of the other people on line you're just one more person in front of them that they have to wait behind to get in. It sucks but its reality. Now I'm not saying the people that frequent these places aren't good people, but the fact is for every one person that doesn't get let in or gets tossed out, there are 100 more that are willing to take his/her place.

Now I can agree with being a bit selective at the door - obviously less selective at large venues i.e. Twilo,SF,Exit, because they need numbers or they're going to be out of business. But to get kicked out for no reason other than to make room is probably illegal. You paid money to have access to the establishment. The fact that more people want in than they have room for should be none of the patron's concern once inside. I don't know what legal recourse you have or if its worth it. Seems as though it is what it is. If you don't feel like chancing not getting in than don't even bother going. As was said before why to go a place that doesn't want you thee in the first place. If these places can pay of the cops so they don't get raided for drugs, do you really think you're gonna get them for this??

I hate the limelight, not the actual venue, just the ownership, be careful and have fun! If you ever decide to go back to Exit one night, come check me out! I dj the secret room after hours. PM me if you decide to venture that way.!
