back2basics- Posted August 22 Author Report Share Posted August 22 I think it can be almost any animal..Haggis1 a A dish consisting of the heart, lungs, and liver of a sheep, calf, etc. (or sometimes of the tripe and chitterlings), minced with suet and oatmeal, seasoned with salt, pepper, onions, etc., and boiled like a large sausage in the maw of the animal. They boil the goats head, eyes and all and then eat the soup. There is no way in hell I will try that. There are better parts of the animal to eat. If I want stomach, hearts, lips, hooves etc... At least they TRY to hide the fact that it's not actually meat.Speaking of which (for those of you who went to public universities...): my friend Alex goes to Iowa St, and one day happened randomly to be around the kitchen as they were unloading the trucks of food. The meat boxes apparently all said "Grade E - suitable for use in prisons and universities only." The same food service provides for both. Glad to see they value education so highly...
