Micorosoft improved on the 2000 kernel to get the professional XP kernel. The Windows 98 kernel was improved on for the XP home edition kernel. I guess it depends on which version of XP you get! XP Professional = An improved windows 2000XP Home edition = An improved windows 98The registration stuff is ridiculous!

attomic
Get Professional. Yeah it kicks ass, Ive had it since beta1, 3 months now and it has been solid. Didnt even see a diffrernce with beta 2. Weird to say this for Microsoft, but it appears to be a stable product. Office XP is also kicks ass. The most notable improvements for both products is speed and multimedia stuff....Built in CD burner etc... Make sure your box can handle it before you go out and get it if you plan on upgrading...Microsoft has a tool you can use so you can determine what its gonna take to get your box up to speed. The XP CD has this tool on it and built into the product.
