Well first I was at Crobar, then I was outside of crobar helping a friend who also happened to be there, then I was in an ambulance with said friend, then I was trying to get his wallet to admit him to Mt Siani, but they had cut off his clothes, then I was in the ER waiting room, then they called me back to see what he had taken, but I really didnt know, but while talking to the doc, another guy in there for a heart attack coded and died right there in front of me. finally at 7AM I left with him in critical and on a ventalator.

Today he is much better but all in all, not one of my better new years eve's

so... how eventfull was your new year?

have to say, I had one of the most incredible NYE in awhile. went to Space and everything seemed to be in perfect balance the music, people, vibe, etc. I arrived at 11:00pm, and didn’t leave until 11:30am the next day. on the music tip; the beats were going off. In the blue room Oscar G tore Sh*t up, and David Padilla came on, and kept the place going insane, until they closed the Blue Room at 11:30am. got to spend sometime in the dj booth with David and Oscar, let me tell you, I have a new respect for what these guys due. nothing can be more intimidating, then looking out from a dj booth, and seeing a packed dancefloor. knowing as a dj; you have to keep these people entertained. it's a big task, but these guys do it every week; without fail. good friends, good music; definitely a great way to ring in the new year.

Happy New Year To ALL ! Wishing everyone the best, in the new year !

Peace, Sobeton

Started out by picking up my fellow .junkies. at the airport from their UK adventure. Then off to find a Target, to obtain an air matress...

Break for a bit, then off to Level, only to find that media guestlists and such were 'not being honored'...I made a quick call, and everything was settled.

Ariel Baund was already on the decks, dropping some good progressive tracks, and some new productions that him and Louis Diaz have worked on...grabbed some images, and trolled around a bit, chatted with GA at the bar for a bit, helped a photographer figure out his new D30 (figures, the beginners have the swank gear!), then someone announces 'Only 5 minutes till midnight!'....I spent the 12:00 minute up in the DJ booth, getting some most excellent crowd shots, as the balloons fell, strobes flashing like crazy...

Ariel continued the progression to some harder tracks, and then George got on...grabbed some images of him, snapped a few crazy shots of some girls under the DJ booth (Eddie G's entourage, I think?), and then myself, Ariel, his girlfriend, and some others split for Liquid.

On the way, we managed to somehow grab a NBC camera crew, who tagged along with us to Liquid. We got there, and Waxman was on, doing a respectable job to a packed house. Quick introductions from Kris, grabbed a few images, chatted with my friends there, then it's off to Lola for cheap drinks and such. Somehow we lost our friends from the NBC affiliate....who knows, maybe they're still on the beach?

Lola was packed to the rafters. Cubby was mannin' the door, and let us freaks in posthaste....quote of the night (shut up beyondo this one is actually funny..) "What do Michael Jackson and Neil Armstrong have in common?...Nothing, Neil Armstrong walked on the moon, Michael Jackson fucks little boys up the ass!" --attributed to some drag queen on the mike.

The.junkie. squad was there, in full effect, so it was a blast...

Breaking with protocol, I had a few too many at Lola, and somehow found my way wandering back to Level, since Ariel was to take to the decks again for a bit.

Ariel kept it trancey, since George made a polite request to do so...not too shabby. George was busy with the ladies (you go!), so Eddie G. did some track-dropping for a bit...

After that, some random house party...

That's all I remember! :)

I did go to the DHM party; the music was awesome, they threw deep house mixed with some jazz and soul and one of them even played the trumpet while another was mixing. I'd say 200 people were there, so it was a full house for that place. The vibe was amazing, all about the music!, free parking, drinks were not expensive, most people stayed until 7am or so that I left to Space.

Space was just ok, they were charging $60 to get in and we said fuck it! and was going to pay. Luckily, this chick that works with me, is part-timing there and let us in for free. :)

Cedric was tearing it down in the patio until Ivano took over and continue the party. Left at 11am and then slept all day. I am still tired; not going out this coming weekend.

That's all

Happy New Year to all!!!!

Lil story for ya...

Kissed this one girl I met in a bar in Louisville at midnight. Chose her over her friend whom I had met 30 minutes prior. The friend got pissed and proceeded to "cockblock" (Can a girl do that?) me for the rest of the night to stay away from her friend because I didn't choose her. What a bitch!

Oh well, enough of my personal life. Being around friends in a quaint setting is the best way to spend NYE. That's what I did. Although it's too fuckin cold up here.

Even before the sun made the birth of the new year official, the Vinyl crowd was busy becoming intoxicated with a strong dose of deep dark succulent brew from the hands of the House Wizard himself. No Dick, Tom, or Harry. Oh, no. This year you could only replace our Danny with another Danny, England's Danny, Danny Howells.

It's taken me a full day to recover, but I gotta say: What a fantastic way to start the new year! I know all those who just woke up agree that New Year's Eve with Danny Howells was a dream-like night that will stay with us forever. It was, in terms of music and overall vibe, the best New Year's Eve party I've been to in my life. The truth is I don't think there could have been a better party in New York, but I sure hope that there were many as enjoyable. New Yorkers needed that this year more than ever.

It was my first time seeing Danny Howells live, but I could tell New York's own Vinyl crowd has a love affair with him, a very special connection. There was so much love at Vinyl and Danny was brimming with it, blowing kisses and gesticulating graciously to his adoring fans, among whom devine-looking girls and aspiring and inspired dj's could be counted. Spinning off the year 2002 with Bent's "Always", a unique and beautiful flow of haunting basslines and levitation-inducing grooves, Danny delivered with easy-going mastery a new year's set that suspended gravity and gave us a potent whiff of heaven. Everyone was exuding joy there and New York could not have made its newest resident Dj feel more welcomed.

Amongst all that is unforseen and uncertain, 2002 brings at least two certainties to New York's nightlife: first, Danny Howells will be with us live and in full effect at the end of every month, and, second, Danny Tenaglia will stay home with us for another year. Vinyl promises to be the epicenter of joy in 2002, so what else is in store for New York. Who follows? Deep Dish and Digweed? One thing is for sure: we will continue to be blessed.

This past year, New York proved to be the best amid the worst atrocity it has ever confronted. We continue to dance and chant, but we will never forget our tragic losses. Instead, we will remember the good and the the bad and enable the triumph of good over evil each in our own individual way. New York not only needs music; it's true, but music always makes our happiness more accessible by giving it a tune by which we can remember it in times of sadness. On new year's day, new memories were made at Vinyl and many more were recalled. Each had a tune of its own.

(a review i read on another msg board. just a taste of what u fewls are going to get later this month from my favorite dj, danny howells.

nice seeing stacey and joeygk. that's how we do it out here...)

Traveled a whole lot.

Way down south down to Mexico! Jk just thinkin of Jimi.....

Woke up NYE 1pm

Anyway the evening started in south florida off a private road at an undisclosed location. A bottle and a half of champagne, along with the goods from the night before with garfield pics to be posted, and jc's previous wednesday night excursion, I found myself wanting to hear something more than progressive. I went to an old friends house where more goods were a plenty increasing my already accelerating motor mouth.

When the house party got old, I made it to Miami half wacked, and loaded with reinforcements. Visited some people and places but did not find the vibe I wanted.

While driving back to home base I hit a black cat that crossed my path. (hope its not dead). Then I went to a friends apartment, found that she had brought some guys home so I hung out with them and drank 4 more bottles and more reinforcements. The time is 5pm New years day still no sleep. Continued to party all night through the following day where I had to catch a flight. Many hours go by and my flight gets cancelled.

What did I do you ask? Well I rented a car and drove to Whorelando. I got there 11:40 pm jan 2. Now it was time to party got some food, then proceeded to Southern Nights for another good time. IT is almost 2 am January 3rd and I head over to Zinc, cairo, icon, firestone and barbarella. I went to the parking garage at 54 west central and was able to stop a girl from getting harassed and raped there. (with a police officer no doubt) 430 am was creaping near.

I went to the peabody hotel where my best friend once took me to relax and party a bit. A few hours later I was on a plane back to Ny. This 3 day New Years was eventfull and fun but missing an important element that made my past 2 years wonderful.

;)
