The Roxy is at the essence of Hip Hop - one of the birthplaces of it. The House music was great. I am just used to jumping rooms in clubs like anything. I know space is important and you don't want people jamming into the Hip Hop room. I was just not used to the inaccessibility to the room and considering Hip Hop is so extremely popular... I got clips from battles back at Roxy actually........Breaking is one of the elements of hip hop ..... Breaking , DJ/Turntablist , Mc's , and Graffiti...... It's just that I enjoy more freedom in roaming around in a club usually was all. It has nothing to do with the DJ's or anything like that. You've totally described the basic true essences of Hip Hop. Yes now you just tend to see the flashiness of the artists on TV and why not they got money now but when you take it to the essence of MC'ing and DJ'ing well that to me is the core of the music. And the breaking of course. It's more than just music it is a true culture. I'm not even asking for its respect because it has outdone what doubters early on said. It was supposed to be a fad. But the culture blew it out of proportion and now it is a business as well. I don't think we should ever subtract hip hop from the electronic apprecation of music.
