?Who is your favorite writer? (come on I know SOME of you can read)

Recommended Posts

It's so hard for me to say I have a favorite, I'm not the type of person who finds an author she likes and then goes out and reads everything they've written; instead I prefer to sample a little bit from as many writers as I can.

With that said... if I had to choose-

favorite novelist- Gabriel Garcia Marquez

favorite poet- Marge Piercy

Ahhhh nice. I love Lolita - read it both in english and russian. Then I realised that the english is actually the original, Nabokov trasnlated it to Ru and and French himself.

What other books by him do you think are good?

Dostoyevsky - I think is one of the most brilliant writers of all time. my very favorite is Notes from underground

Have not yet gotten to reading de Beauvoir, cause the the entire Second Sex is just too great of a task while I have stuff to read for classes.

I also enjoy Albert Camus (the fall, the stranger) , Nietzsche

My favorite creative writer (rather than philosophical) is

Oscar Wilde.

Poetry: Bulgakov, Akhmatova, Mandelshteim

(TOTOALLY OFF, you're probably familiar with these)

Plays by : Goethe and Ibsen

"Faust" is just so much deeper than any of shakespeares work

(just my opinion)
