where is the best record store in nyc?!

Recommended Posts

Probably Satellite (259 Bowery between Stanton and Houston, http://www.satellitercords.com/ ). Throb (211 E. 14th between 2nd and 3rd Aves, http://www.throb.com/ ) House of trance, and Eightball Records (9th St. between 3rd and 4th Aves, www.eightballrecords.com ) are all also pretty good. For tech house and techno, maybe try sonic groove (sorry forgot the address).

Could not have said it better myself.........Satellite is overpriced, but they have a huge invintory.

Eightball and Throb are good because 10,000 people don't go through there every day so there might still be some good records available.

Sonic Groove is the best for tech, at least as my taste goes. There is also some good Tech at Temple and there are always good house beats at Dance Tracks.

Vinyl Market is also pretty good for tech house and techno. Not 100% sure where it is, but I believe it's somewhere around 2nd Ave and 10th St.

Tilly, I think you're taking me on a field trip. I'll let you drop Mind over Matter if you bring me out there....

Oh, and as for Sonic Groove, it's on Carmine St. just south of 6th Ave/Bleecker St.. Vinyl Mania (no relation to vinyl market) is also across the street from there and isn't horrible for more mainstream stuff, plus it's damn cheap compared to most record stores around the city.
