He is a platinum selling artist and has topped the charts worldwide as the producer behind Reel 2 Reel’s hit “I Like To Move Itâ€. He has been responsible for a bewildering array of dance-floor tracks, under pseudonyms that include Minister De La Funk, The Dronez (a project alongside Harry ‘Choo Choo’ Romero and Jose Nunez, which won the trio the “Remixer of the Year†Award in 2001), RAW, Smooth Touch, RBM, Deep Soul, Club Ultimate and Li’l Mo Ying Yang amongst others He has remixed everyone from Whitney Houston to Basement Jaxx, from the Sneaker Pimps to Macy Gray. He runs the legendary Subliminal Records empire and has collaborated with the likes of Puff Daddy, Boy George and the Audio Bullys. As a high profile DJ, Erick is currently one of the most in-demand and instantly recognisable in the world. From the climb-the-walls success of his weekly ‘Sessions’ parties in New York, to hosting events like the annual road-blocking Subliminal Sessions parties in Miami for the Winter Music Conference, to his coveted residency at Ministry of Sound (one of the few US DJs to ever hold one) and of course his now legendary Subliminal Sessions parties at Pacha, Ibiza. His prolific DJing schedule has seen him crisscrossing the globe playing up to a whopping 30 gigs a month, along the way scooping up endless awards such as “Best International DJ 2002†and “Best House DJ 1999 / 2001â€. He has also become a familiar television personality through his appearances on MTV UK and as host of MTV Ibiza two years in a row whilst starring in a seven part series for the major UK TV station, Channel 4, which followed him around the world to the biggest parties and was aired to millions of viewers. Raised in Colombia, then New Jersey, Erick was weaned on a musical diet of Latin rhythms, reggae and hip hop. He started DJing at the age of 11 and after securing himself DJ sets at several local gigs decided to take a studio engineering course at the local Centre of Media Arts. He was soon inducted into the house fraternity through his friend Marc Anthony (the Salsa King), whilst he was working with the now legendary Louie Vega and Kenny “Dope†Gonzalez on “Ride On The Rhythmâ€. “Louie’s kinda watched out for me since the beginning, he never really told me how I should do things, he’s just always been supportiveâ€. After somehow scraping together enough equipment to build his own studio, the young Morillo tentatively started approaching labels such as Nervous and Strictly Rhythm with his fledgling productions. This eventually paid off when Strictly picked up on a track called “The New Anthemâ€, under the moniker Reel 2 Reel. Erick quickly followed this release with the classic “I Like To Move Itâ€, which went platinum in Holland, gold in the UK, Germany, France and Belgium and opened the doors for Erick’s first taste of touring in Europe. Flush with success but determined to keep his head and music firmly in the underground (“It’s where I come from, where I always go back toâ€) he notched up a pair of Billboard #1’s with Smooth Touch’s “In My House†and his sublime collaboration with buddy Louie Vega, Li’l Mo’Ying Yang’s “Reachâ€. In 1997, after spending almost a year of meticulously planning everything from logos to packaging, Morillo took it that one step further and launched Subliminal Records with his production partners Harry Romero and Jose Nunez. Guided by Morillo’s ear and studio presence, and bolstered by his equally able team mates, the Subliminal brand has gone on to become synonymous with a funky, soulful sound that’s as underground as it is party-ready. “I wanted people to be able to go into a store, buy a Subliminal track and know that they’ve got a quality record.†In 2004 Erick released his first artist album worldwide, entitled “My World†it featured heavyweight collaborations from the likes of Puff Daddy, DJ Rap, Audio Bullys, Terra Deva and even a reunion with the Mad Stuntman. The first single taken from the album was “Break Down The Doors†featuring the Audio Bullys and with its success came Erick’s debut music video, featuring himself, the Audio Bullys and a cameo by supermodel Naomi Campbell. 2007 has been the year in which Subliminal Sessions 11 has been released marking the 10th anniversary of the now world renowned, cutting edge label - Subliminal Records. With over 100 releases under its belt, ranging from full-on radio smashes like Who Da Funk’s ‘Shiny Disco Balls’ to underground classics like Ministers de la Funk’s ‘Believe’ to the indispensable Subliminal Sessions compilations, the label’s catalogue has truly become an industry heavyweight. Yet this is not all, as sitting alongside this are the label’s imprints Sondos, Subliminal Soul, Bambossa and SUBUSA which cater for everything from tough, tribal beats to rock-house cocktails. 2007’s Ten Years of Subliminal has been celebrated with a new weekly party which ran for ten weeks over the summer at Le Palais in Cannes. Alongside this was Erick’s Wednesday night Subliminal Sessions party at Pacha Ibiza, his all-night sets at Ministry of Sound in London, Pacha in Barcelona and Fabrik in Madrid and his parties at Pacha NYC where Erick is not only resident but also one of the club’s share-holders. Add to this already hectic schedule dates that see him playing gigs in Rotterdam, Birmingham and Las Vegas in a single weekend, touring Australia, hosting a tent at Creamfields UK, headlining the Ultra Music Festival at The Winter Music Conference, deputising for Pete Tong on his Friday Night show on BBC Radio 1, playing five festivals including Global Gathering both in the UK and in the Ukraine and to top it all, finding yourself a favorite of a certain pair of princes and playing at the Concert for Diana after-party at London’s Wembley Arena. And this is only what he's done so far. The end of the year will see Erick tour Colombia and Brazil, play dates across the USA, head over to Dubai and headlining a huge warehouse rave somewhere under the streets of Manchester. 2008 will be welcomed in his trademark workaholic style; playing not one, but two different clubs, in two different countries on New Years Eve; Sensation in Dussledorf followed by Outland in Rotterdam. And 2008? Well, who can tell just yet, but if the past few years are anything to go by, it’s sure to be an action packed, glamorous, crazy, party adventure.

Layering different sounds with the aid of two Pioneer CDJ-1000s, a Pioneer EFX-1000, Korg Kaossilator, MIDI controller and a laptop, his hands and ears don't let up for a second, leaving any punters feet a-moving and mouth a-gap. Zabiela’s demands for such a kit wherever he spins is a reminder that he's one of the scant few DJs who's pushing things forward in ‘09. James' style is trippy, bleepy and deeply - nay, downright - groovy. Oh, and watch out for a few gnarly basslines along the way, those nasty, dirty sounds are a part of JZ's signature now. Scratches, loops, and fluttering chord changes are all par for the course in a Zabiela set. No wonder childhood idols Depeche Mode remain his heroes - like fellow tech-house don Mathew Bushwacka!, they all understand that the best electronic music moves both heart and feet. And if the magic's there, the spirit will fly as well. "Entertainment and education are the key," nods James sagely. "It's all about finding the balance. People have paid good money to have a party but you still need a balance." Which is why his effects unit is so crucial to his performance. "Anyone can mix two records to a degree," he grins, while still admitting to the odd bout of nervousness during radio interviews if not behind the decks. "But I'm a hundred times more confident than I used to be. DJing has definitely helped my confidence as a person." Watching him play, it’s easy to forget that making things look easy takes time to perfect. Zabiela’s crossed a few bridges - and a few national boundaries - along the way. "I haven't worked it all out yet," he adds. "But I do wish I could grow an extra arm sometimes!" James' career so far has been stratospheric to say the least. Swiftly snapped up by Sasha's Excession agency, he spent the next year taking on Eastern Europe, Australia, South America and the US of A, while still finding time to record well-received CDs for Renaissance and unleash a string of fine remixes along the way. Royksopp, Ladytron and progressive artists Spooky have all been under the Zabiela scalpel - and more are on their way. Pushing the envelope while still learning to cope with a real-life fan base and life on the other side of the record counter, it’s unlikely that James Zabiela will be taking a breather anytime soon. There are further late niteries like Tribal Sessions and Matter to entertain and regular slots in Romania and Budapest to attend to. On a recent trip to Argentina he played a five-hour set in front of 6,500 screaming punters at Moonpark in Buenos Aires. No wonder Sasha refers to James as the guv'nor, This is just the beginning.

A decade in which ATB presented eight albums – including the newest ATB LP “Future Memories“, set for May release – to lighten up our days and nights with exquisite electronic music, melodic yet pulsating. The new CD is more eagerly anticipated than ever – with good reason. Breaking the rule of an album every year, “Future Memories“ was two years in the making. This was not necessarily the original plan, but the sheer number of international ATB gigs and tours simply did not allow a timeframe to record an album in a concentrated period of a few months. So it was that, on returning from each tour during the last two years, a new track was born, reflecting the impressions and experiences on the road and on stage. “Two years might sound like a long time to produce an album. But I spent roughly the same amount of time on “Future Memories“ as on my previous LPs“, André explains. The methodology was different this time around, however. “Unlike the last album, which was very much based on classic songwriting and real instruments, “Future Memories“ has more of a focus on keyboards and synthesizers again. I wanted to get back to my roots in electronic sounds,“ ATB continues. Of course, both André Tanneberger and his music have developed further, adding new, refined touches to the classic ATB sound. Tempo is of the essence on the new recordings, raising the bar higher than ever for a trance album. Hence “Future Memories“ features four tracks which clock in at over 165 beats per minute. Anyone who thinks this signals a departure into hardcore or techno by ATB would be mistaken. In spite of their high speed, these songs still have that essential ATB soul. Meanwhile, “Future Memories“ also serves up a number of ATB tracks as the fans know and love them – indeed the sound which has won ATB so many loyal fans over the years. The tracks registering over 165 bpm are there to get people to think more deeply about the album, as André explains “controversy makes it more interesting, it gets listeners to engage with the album more intensely“. He’s certainly achieved that with flying colours, judging by the heated debate in forums in advance of the release already. “Future Memories“ contains 26 tracks on two CDs. One with driving, melodic club music, the other in a more ambient style. “On my other albums I used the 2nd CD to show my fans another side of ATB. Same again with “Future Memories“. I love ambient music, love listening to it and producing songs in the genre, I find it enjoyable and relaxing. Most of these songs were created at home in a more intimate environment“ ATB points out. It goes without saying that André has collaborated with other artists for the new album. This has been one of his trademarks over the past decade. This time, there are songs with Roberta Carter Harrison, Haley and Josh Gallahan, no strangers to connoisseurs of earlier ATB records. Betsy Larkin and Aruna are two brand new guests on the album. Fans of ATB’s instrumental tracks will also find plenty to keep them happy. Sightings of André in Germany over the last couple of years have been few and far between. As electronic music grows into an increasingly global phenomenon, ATB has been travelling to a dfferent country almost every week. Fans in his home territory could be forgiven for thinking that ATB had gone quiet. In fact, the opposite is the case. André is one of a very select group of musicians in the genre to have succeeded in creating timeless music. Without doubt he belongs to the elite of the global electronic community. One only needs to look at his releases and chart history to realise this – not to mention the fact that his DJ sets are in such great demand among the clubs and fans alike. In spite of his global success, André has kept both feet firmly on the ground and has never lost sight of his fans being the prime focus of his attention. International travel means less time for his followers in respective countries, but he is always willing to give them something back. With this in mind, he created the ATB “Live In Concert“ experience, a live event which transcends the DJ set framework, a fully-fledged concert presentation featuring live vocals and real instruments. “In contrast to my DJ sets, where I use a lot of material by other artists, ATB In Concert is all about my own songs “ André explains. “This is my way of offering the fans who have stuck with me over the last ten years a dedicated ATB live show from start to finish.“ Seven such concerts are scheduled for 2009. „Future Memories“ also includes a new version of André Tanneberger’s worldwide hit “9 P.M. – Till I Come“. Not in any way a sign of commercial sell-out, much more a consequence of ATB having played the track at almost every gig in the past ten years. “9 P.M. was a must for my fans. They expected, even demanded it – and I was happy to oblige“ he says. He always endeavoured to play mixes of the song which no other DJ had. “I now wanted to have a new version of 9 P.M. to play in my sets, which nobody else could play. I didn’t expect the reaction of the fans at the gigs to be so overwhelming. Which is why I have added a mix of the new version as a bonus on “Future Memories“ – as a way of saying thank you to the fans.“

Originally hailing from England but having clearly arrived on the global scene nearly a decade ago, John has long since cemented his name in the pages of dance music history. His list of achievements is groundbreaking to say the least. Highlights would be the first proper dj mix compilation (Renaissance, done with Sasha), being the first British dj to hold a residency at what was then the worlds most well known club in NYC (Twilo, also with Sasha) as well as having remixed tracks by Danny Tenaglia, Underworld and New Order. John Digweed is a DJ's DJ. The beauty of what he does lies in just how different he really is from his contemporaries. From his early beginnings in Hastings, England at the age of 15 in the blossoming scene of acid house to the apex of the international dj'ing world, he has created and maintained a level of integrity that is the benchmark for both djs and producers globally. In fact, he has reached the very top of his profession, being voted ..1 in a voter's poll by DJ magazine in 2001. John Digweed has become the peoples choice while maintaining his longstanding presence in underground dance culture. His popularity as both a dj and a person seems to have no limits, but his efforts transcend dj'ing alone, he is as much a producer and promoter. His moniker Bedrock is actually three things: a record label, a promotions company and a studio production partnership (with Nick Muir). His management and creative direction for the Bedrock record label has helped launch the careers of Danny Howells (with Dick Trevor as Science Department), Jimmy Van M, Chris Fortier and Phil Thompson (Moonface). He has had the vision and creative insight to seek out mixes and remixes from artists as varied as Rui Da Silva, POB, Freelance Icebreakers and the Second Hand Satellites. The label has effectively served as a foundation for artistic expression and a medium for creative output, allowing underground artists to break through to a much wider audience. To have a record released on Bedrock serves as the global stamp of production quality, ingenuity and integrity for producers worldwide. In fact, the name John Digweed is synonymous with quality, ingenuity and integrity. From the nights he has either created or been a part of (Bedrock, Northern Exposure, Renaissance) to his world renowned mix cd's (Renaissance, Global Underground, Northern Exposure, Communicate and Bedrock) he has consistently produced characteristic products that stay in demand, himself included. Even with all of his global traveling he has still been able to hold down two monthly Bedrock residencies in both London (Heaven) and Brighton (The Beach). As one half of Bedrock the production duo he has landed two tracks in the top 40 (Heaven Scent and For What You Dream Of) the latter of which made it into the hit movie Trainspotting. He has even tried a bit of acting himself ("Groove"). He and Nick Muir as Bedrock the production team also recently scored a Hollywood film (Stark Raving Mad). His Kiss100 radio show is quickly coming up on its second year as one of the most successful dance music shows in all of England with internet broadcasts to all of the world. It has achieved a near cult status with listeners trading cds and mp3s of the various broadcasts across the internet. John shares his platform weekly by bringing in worldwide guest djs. As a person John's lack of pretense is enveloped in imagination and invention. Good reason for John being one of the most respected, analyzed and imitated dj's in the world. Digweed is both solid and durable with unyielding precision. His sinuous dj'ing and production sound has become its own convincing dance ethic. He is centered to the principles of life, living and friends in such a way that he generates an aura of self-explanatory excitement and enthusiasm. Without heroic pretensions his sets are filled with moodiness and musical mystery but held down with a punchy distinctiveness and earthly rhythm. Always emanating a sense of boundlessness he overlaps dream events that spill into reality with an enormous certainty.

His mother, an accomplished professional violinist, and his father, a famous oil painter and music lover, immersed Matan into a world of music, from classical and folk, to opera and modern synth music. By age 8, precocious Matan was already so much inspired by music that he taught himself the guitar, and decided to start a band. After moving from the USA back to London, England, his birthplace, at age 11, Matan soon became a drummer in a jazz band, and bassist in a rock band, but after listening to such dance music artists as Daft Punk and the Chemical Brothers, their primal rhythms combined with cutting edge melodies, instrumentation, and progression moved him to a turning point in his career: electronic dance music production and DJing. He taught himself to produce dance music at 13 years old, and by 16, taught himself to DJ. By 2006, when he was only 16 years old, Matan had his first signing of a track, but it was after he won the Baroque Remix Competition with Lustral's "In My Life" that many world-class DJs and producers began to notice this young producer's great talents. By mid-2007, Mat Zo had remixed for Andy Moor, Markus Schulz, and he became a DJ household name after Tiesto hired him to remix "Driving To Heaven", and the remix appeared on Tiesto's internationally recognized "In Search Of Sunrise 7" CD compilation. Mat Zo quickly worked up the ranks to become one of the most sought after progressive dance music producers in history. He has played in such cities as Holland, Germany, Ukraine, Ibiza, India, and various cities in England. Mat Zo's global reach multiplied when his Zoned monthly radio program was picked up by Afterhours.fm the summer of 2008. Mat Zo has gained tremendous support by the world's top DJs, including Armin Van Buuren, Tiesto, Above and Beyond, Markus Schulz, Ferry Corsten, Andy Moor, and Airwave. He has numerous releases out on such labels as Intuition, Armada, and Anjunabeats, and continues to produce varied electronic music, ranging from drum and bass, to trance and progressive house. His monthly Zoned radio program can be heard monthly afterhours.fm, and his guest mixes can be heard on numerous highly rated radio stations. The future looks very bright for this young producer/dj's career. We have only seen the beginning.

His ‘76’, ‘Shivers’ and ‘Imagine’ artist albums are award-winning, his Armada Music label is a big success and the amount of fans is still growing fast. Awards & Accolades Armin van Buuren has been named number one in the prestigious DJ Top 100 poll twice in a row, in 2007 and 2008– voted for by over 350,000 people across the world, as an indication of his prolific output over the more than 10 years he’s been dj’ing and producing. Being the official World’s Most Popular DJ is just one of his many achievements, but the driving force behind his success is an overriding passion for dance music. Even a basic list of recent successes reads like a lifetime of work: he was awarded with the prestigious Buma Cultuur Pop Award in 2008. This was followed by being voted as the Best Trance Artist in the Beatport Music Awards judged on the musician’s artistic achievements, national and international success. Next to that, Armin was awarded for Best European DJ at the 2009 IDMA Awards, along with 3 other Awards. It is evident that Armin van Buuren has become one of the decade’s most influential trance acts. But there’s more. ‘Best Album’ for artist album ‘Shivers’ at both the Dutch Release Dance Awards and the prestigious Edison Awards; ‘Best Compilation’ for ‘A State Of Trance’, in 2006, claiming the ‘Best European DJ’ award in 2007 and ‘Best Mix Radio Show’ at the Miami Winter Music Conference 5 years in a row, for radio show ‘A State Of Trance’ – now broadcasting on a massive 40 FM stations as well as satellite and internet radio, with over 30 million listeners a week; a 6 year residency in Ibiza at Amnesia and over 50,000 downloads every week from podcasting high end chart-bothering positions all over the world for singles, albums and compilations, with single ‘Rush Hour’ used as the theme tune to the UEFA European Youth Championship; the #1 entry in the Dutch album charts with his artist album ‘Imagine’, the #1 entry of the DVD registration of ‘Armin Only ‘ Imagine’ – the landmarks just keep coming! Armin’s own productions have all made a huge impact and quickly gain worldwide acclaim; his latest artist album titled ‘Imagine’ entered the Dutch Album Top 100 Chart at number one; this is the first time a dance producer has ever accomplished such a feat in the history of Dutch music. The first single to be taken from this album, ‘Going Wrong’ with DJ Shah featuring Chris Jones, entered the Dutch Singles Chart at number five. The ‘Armin Only DVD’ was also released and reached the acclaimed number one spot in its second week. His back catalogue includes Blue Fear, Communication, Sound of Goodbye, Shivers, Rush Hour, Burned With Desire, Exhale, Love You More, This World Is Watching Me, and Yet Another Day. While the remix offers flood in, Armin only takes on tracks that he really loves. He uses exactly the same criteria for his compilations, meaning that every release from Armin or his long-running Armind label is a bone fide stormer that’s earned its place. His output includes tracks for the cult TV series 24, and the likes of Motorcycle’s As The Rush Comes. A State of Trance Cause aside from recognition and ever-going fan support, it’s the music that means most to Armin. The perfect example of that given fact, is his weekly 2-hour radioshow ‘A State of Trance’. Listened to by 30 million EDM lovers, he continues to deliver his fans a selection of the best in trance and progressive, no matter how cluttered his tour schedule might be. The 8th birthday of the show was celebrated in style with a cross-country 72-hour live broadcast, with three events in Germany, UK and the Netherlands. In addition to the weekly show, Armin also started the weekly ASOT podcasts, which contain highlights and Armin’s favourite tracks from the previous episode, to ensure that trance lovers across the world will never miss another episode! Armin Only Sold-out shows for Armin Only in 2005 and 2006 created eager anticipation of the third edition, which kicked off in a sold-out Jaarbeurs in Utrecht in 2008; over 16,000 fans attended and were enthralled by the DJ’s nine hour set. The theme of the night was ‘Imagine’, described by Armin as “the celebration of our sensations both in life and in club land.†Fans all around the world needed not to despair, as ‘Armin Only’ tour dates were also set for Romania, Poland, Belgium, Australia and USA; aside from his ‘normal’ tour in England, Scotland, Ibiza, Brazil, Mexico, Canada, with expected dates in, for an example, the Czech Republic. On New Years Eve 2008-2009, Armin managed to draw 35,000 people to his Armin Only show in the Los Angeles Sports Arena, making him the first Dutch DJ ever to have drawn such a big crowd to an own event. How it all began Born in Leiden, Holland (on December 25, 1976) to a musical family, Armin indulged his passion for music from a young age. He spent all the money he earned with his paper round on records. His mum won a computer when he was 10, gaining Armin’s interest. “So as a little nerdy kid I was writing my own basic programs, and learnt about the technology from there.†He progressed from making low-profile mix tapes for friends to higher profile mixes when he discovered experimenting with different sequences on his computer through his uncle. “I was so stunned by what I saw him doing on the computer, that I got addicted to creating music right there and then!†“I loved dance music immediately – this great rebellious sound that was so different to the ‘beautiful’ songs of the years beforeâ€. Armin cites electronic pioneer Jean Michel Jarre as a major influence, as well as Dutch producer Ben Liebrand, who later mentored him in his mixing and producing. In the early days, Armin thought it was wise to have something extra in case the dj’ing didn’t work out. So he studied for a law degree. The final year of his course was inevitably stretched as he juggled his studies with his increasingly hectic schedule; his rise to fame included lots of productions and remixes, as well as playing out to packed clubs every weekend. It took him three years to graduate, but his determination made him succeed! Armin is a dedicated trance lover, but isn’t imprisoned by a single genre, saying “What makes trance work so well is that it doesn’t stick to one style, and can incorporate electro, minimal, whatever it likes.†Armin is now a fully-fledged artist in his own right, where it’s all about the music. "This is just what I really want," says Armin. "It’s not just love for music, it’s my passion. It goes beyond liking, and beyond a hobby, it’s about a way of living. Music is essential to my lifeâ€.

He trained for an admirable ten years, developing a distinct passion for Jazz. Soon after the sound of Hip Hop provoked him to start his foray into DJ'ing and production. Then came house as Satoshi became fascinated by the early Chicago mix-tapes he was hearing. A Japanese cosmetic company asked Satoshi to produce a track for their forthcoming promo parties where the legendary DJ Frankie Knuckles was performing. Knuckles saw the potential in Satoshi's music and asked if he was interested in collaborating. The final result of their partnership was "Tears", a defining moment in vocal house and a song now commonly regarded as an all time classic. Satoshi soon took the leap and moved to New York. Since his seminal hit "Tears" back in 1989, he has gone on to become a major part of the acclaimed Def Mix crew. Although Satoshi's beginnings were based on his musicianship as a classically trained musician, he used his talents in the early years of his career to write, program and produce some of the biggest classic house records of our time. Satoshi also has remixed and worked with the likes of Photek, Kosheen, Simply Red, David Bowie, U2 and Mariah Carey, just to name a few. Satoshi's debut solo album was 2000s massive Full Lick. The album featured the outstanding Satoshi anthem 'Love In Traffic' with Kelli Ali (ex-Sneaker Pimps) on vocals. The track was picked up by John Digweed for his Global Underground mix and remains a progressive classic to this day. The album also included 'Darkness' featuring veteran house vocalist Robert Owens, and 'Inspired' featuring Diane Charlamagne. In 2001, Satoshi Tomiie launched his own label "SAW.RECORDINGS". It was Satoshi's desire to create a platform from which he would be able to showcase ideas and creativity that are more experimental. SAW's first single release "Paranoize" by Bipath (A collaboration work with Stephane K.) caused major excitement from DJ's worldwide. If SAW.RECORDINGS is an example of the direction that Satoshi is heading in, he is acknowledging the changes in the dance music scene, thus shifting what House music is. House music never stops evolving and expanding its borders and Satoshi Tomiie is in the forefront of this movement. Satoshi's Saw Recordings label has carved out a niche and has earned a formidable reputation for credible club grooves. Taking its name from a sound wave, the company has to date unleashed over 60 singles along with 4 albums including Chab's sublime variety of rock, electro and house tracks, SLOK, Guy Gerber, Audiofly X, Jim Rivers, Nick Chacona, Nathan Fake, Lexicon Avenue and Satoshi's own mix compilations ES and ES-B. When Satoshi was invited by compilation kings Global Underground to contribute a mix to their NuBreed series, it was a great honor. Satoshi is the first American based DJ to be asked to record a NuBreed album which is known for only working with the leading cutting edge DJ's. Satoshi's album remains the fastest and highest selling NuBreed to date. Receiving the highest honor as a DJ, in 2001 Satoshi Tomiie was voted by the public into the #30 spot of the World's Top 100 DJ List and Best Tech House DJ Ibiza DJ Award. Satoshi is also finding International recognition now as a Label owner besides his proven talents as a DJ, Producer / Artist and Musician. The last few years have been all about DJing for Satoshi. This Japanese New Yorker has been virtually everywhere you can think of in recent years, in March 05 Tomiie was also voted Americas ..15 favorite DJ in the world by the premier Electronic magazine BPM. He only spins in his home city (Tokyo) every six months or so; the rest of the time he's traveling, using the Big Apple as a second home which also serves as a handy midpoint between Asia, South America and Europe - where a lot of his gigs are. In 2006, Satoshi was chosen to mix the first album of Renaissance's new series 3D. The 3 CD series will include the following discs: Club, Home, and Studio. This is a step above any ordinary compilation as it will offer a 3-dimensional view into Satoshi's musical life spread across the three discs. The 'Club' disc will be a straight-up reflection of the sets he is currently playing in clubs. Disc 2 'Studio' disc will feature a selection of his original productions and remixes. Disc 3 will be 'Home', a selection of tracks; mixed or unmixed that Satoshi listens to in his downtime and tracks that has influenced him over the years. Following up with the releasing of successful 'Masters' series on Renaissance and releasing of his own singles 'Glow' in 2007 as well as 'Solar Wind' in 2008 on SAW.RECORDINGS, Satoshi is now preparing another album planned to be released late 2008 for Renaissance. The collaboration with Audiofly, Opus Ink's 2nd single is also in the pipeline. Although Satoshi is quiet and unassuming; he gets on with the job of playing and producing quality underground dance music. HECTOR ROMERO BIO: When I asked him the perennial question journalists ask DJ’s about their style, Hector Romero replied: “I play the best of all genres of dance music.†Quite the dibs, but Hector’s got the credentials to back it up. 2006 begins with Hector Romero’s first international mix CD release, “Pacha Winter Sessionsâ€. The double CD hits the streets Jan ’06 in many countries around the world. It includes Hector Romero on Disc one and Spain’s Juan Diaz on Disc two. "When I was originally asked by Danny Whittle at Pacha Ibiza to mix Disc one of the Pacha Winter album I felt flattered and honored.†An honor that is helping to solidify, Romero’s international persona, and opening doors into new countries like Morocco and Switzerland with a full world tour in the stars for this year. Since his beginnings as thirteen-year-old DJ wunderkind “Baby Hec†Romero back in 1983, a growing reputation landed him at La Mirage, the hottest uptown Latin club at the time. As the New York City house music renaissance ensued, Hector found himself at the helm of legendary dance floors Save the Robots, The Red Zone (where he met David Morales), Palladium and Roxy. Hector admits “I have not stopped DJ’ing once in my career.†Hector has worked as an employee for Def Mix for ten years. He has proven to be quite the workhorse, keeping his finger quick on the pulse of the company’s daily business operations. Known for their house clout, Def Mix broadened their horizons with SAW Recordings, the brainchild co-run by owner Satoshi Tomiie and partner Label Manager Hector Romero. Known first and foremost for an innovative approach to the house sound, SAW’s output have all the crucial elements to them. Hector explains: “Everything’s got to be funky with your baseline, good vocals, catchy hooks, very important stuff that’s going to stand the test of time.†The highly touted compilation, Undulation 1 (mixed by Satoshi & Hector) saw a highly touted 2003-4 world tour. As a crucial member of the Def Mix camp, Hector’s plan for the future is to grow as an executive for the SAW label. “Since I don’t remix or produce, being a business person Monday through Friday is my love and passion,†he expounds. Romero distinguishes the weekend as a time to take his A&R duties abroad: “I take everything we’ve signed, the music that I’ve been sent, on the road and have a good time. Just stepping it up another level and continuing to influence people.†Whether he’s rocking it out at Pacha, Ibiza or in Greece, UK, France, Spain, Italy, USA or Canada, Hector works hard at his craft, making sure clubbers have a good time. What sets Romero apart from the rest, his ability to reach out to the masses, makes him a favorite with promoters and clubbers alike: “[Promoters] love it when people go to the gigs and smile, and have a good time with their customers. I love it. It’s work, but it’s also good fun.â€

Raised in a musical family, music naturally became an intrinsic part of Voorn's life from an early age. Electronic music first caught his attention in the mid-90's, and he started DJ'ing in 1997. After developing a more focused interest in house and techno, Joris invested in the versatile MC-303 Groovebox and began to experiment with synth sounds and drumloops. By the end of 2000 Joris began building a small studio to produce his own music, which led to his first release called ʻmuted trax pt.1' on Keynote. His first EP was massive success, filling the record boxes of Carl Craig, Laurent Garnier, DJ Rush and Technasia. In 2003 ʻLost memories Pt.1' was released on Technasia's SINO label and was followed by ʻLost memories Pt.2' containing the anthem ʻIncident' which was heard on dancefloors around the world. After the success of ʻIncident', Voorn released his debut cd album called ʻFuture History' on the Sino label. Encompassing 3 years of ideas and inspiration, the cd contains 20 diverse tracks, a seamless soundscape that represents his arrival as one of the most relevant techno producers of this time. In the summer of 2005 Joris Voorn's new personal outlet called ʻgreen' saw the light of day. ʻA dedicated mind' was released as the first EP, which garnered success globally. He also completed his debut DJ mix CD for the Fuse club in Belgium. After Dave Clarke, DJ Hell and Technasia, Fuse presented Joris Voorn to mix part 4 of their international residentʼs dj mix albums. The mix contained over 40 tracks of timeless techno music mixed with the help of Ableton Live for its endless mixing and editing possibilities. In 2006 the sophomore release under Voorn's Green label, named ʻMPX_309', was a crossover techno work that was played out by techno, minimal, house and trance DJs. During the same year Voorn created his second album, released worldwide in June 2007. This new piece of work called ʻFrom a deep place' featured many different styles of electronic music, ranging from atmospheric interludes to broken beats, house and deep soulful techno. The focus point of the ʻFrom a deep place' CD has been the listener rather than the dancer and was received enthusiastically by the electronic music community. Some of the works were edited to more dj friendly tracks for the vinyl release of the album. During the summer of 2007 Joris has been touring with his new live performance in support of his album release. More recently, Joris has been focusing on collaborative efforts producing remixes for respected and diverse artists such as Robert Babicz, Nic Fanciulli, Slam, Steve Angello, Sebo K and Jerome Sydenham. The ʻDark Flower Magnolia Mix' for Robert Babicz turned out to be another summer anthem in electronic dance music, and was a favourite of DJ's like Sven Vath, Dubfire, Pete Tong and John Digweed among many others. In 2008, following the success of his resident advisor podcast, Joris was invited to produce episode 14 of the Balance DJ mix CD series from Australia. Following in the footsteps of James Holden and Lee Burridge, Joris constructed a layered and seamless mix of electronic dance music on a double CD. An epic mix in the very best sense of the word, Balance 014 achieves the rare feat of combining variety and consistency, making it perfect for trainspotters and dancers alike. The tracks change quickly and quietly, but the groove stays. An accompanying world tour will follow where Joris will bring the essence of this studio project to the stage, using all different elements of the mix into a full range club experience. Having established himself as a leading producer and DJ, Joris will be embarking on a new project called ʻA green night'. Inspired by his surroundings, which is never limited to the dancefloor, Joris and his team will be creating a night in several festivals and clubs, exploring the possibilities of combining music and visual arts. This year the project will be developed, tested and finetuned in selected clubs. As a DJ and live performer Joris Voorn has joined an elite group of international DJ's whose musical talent has acquired global appeal. He has performed across Europe, Japan, Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Austsralia, Russia, Brazil, Colombia, Israel, Detroit, Chicago and New York.

By 1992 Desyn had seen and heard enough to know that his life, for the foreseeable future, would be ever committed to the raising of the human consciousness through music. From the raw edgy energy of the traveler parties, to the flourishing club scene all over the UK, Desyn took in all the scenes and frequented many diverse events covering sounds from early Balearic house, to the emergence of hardcore and early drum and bass, the early trance sounds of labels like eyeQ records, the soulful US garage sound and the roots of progressive house made famous by groups like Leftfield and Underworld. He bought his first set of turntables in 1990 and spent most of his spare time in dusty second hand London record basements gradually amassing a wide and varied range of early house, balearic and techno. His professional DJ career all began in 1999 with one mix CD that he took a considerable amount of time and love preparing, he sent it out to one hundred random people that requested the CD from a post on various Internet message boards. After a few months the CD had been passed all around the world and ended up on the laps of various promoters and DJs. Desyn, although completely unknown at the time began to get international gig requests. From his first international gigs in 2001 to his chaotic schedule today, it all sparked off from that one mix CD. Once described by John Digweed as “the man that never sleepsâ€, it is a testament to Desyn’s hard work and ability to unearth original and undiscovered threads in the tapestry of house music that his peers recognize and respect. Desyn has released numerous mix cds on some of the most respected labels and brands including Yoshitoshi’s “In house we trust 3â€, Bedrock OS1, and Balance 008, the later credited as the no.1 album of 2005 by the UK dance magazine M8. Over the past decade he has continued to develop his two co-owned record labels Alternative Route and Sexonwax, and now brand new label “Soulglow†(with Rowan Blades). Desyn’s productions with The Idiots 'Feel The Rush' and 'Keep it Real' (Sexonwax) were featured on Danny Howells' 24/7 Compilation and his first remix (Solar Plexus) on Deep Dish's Global Underground (025). Desyn has since appeared in the DJ mag top 100 poll for 3 years consecutive years and more recently a new focus as he joins forces with lifetime friends Omid16B & Demi to create the DJ alliance, SOS. Drawing inspiration from their rich musical heritage and friendship, SOS was born of a desire to create synergy and to see what is really possible when three heads are focused together on one objective. SOS Balance 013 was released on EQ recordings in April 2008 worldwide.

After “Volksworldâ€, his first LP on Raw Elements, together with the mix compilations “Da Minimal Funk Part 1 & 2†Steve puts the label to sleep in order to set up two brand-new platforms for vinyl releases – Dessous and Poker Flat n 1999, followed by the launch of Audiomatique Recordings in 2004. The Dutch musical genius may not be as mature as his predecessors but he’s certainly made as much of an impact in his comparatively short career, not only in The Netherlands but also across the world. Having made his debut in the world renowned DJ Mag Top 100 at 32 in 2006, before climbing 19 places to No.13 in 2008’s poll; sandwiched between Carl Cox and Paul Oakenfold, the fast rise of Sander van Doorn is a testament to his raw talent and dedication. In just seven years he’s clocked up more dance floor destroyers, sell out gigs and awards than most artists do in a lifetime… and his journey is still in its infancy. From the start Sander (and his alter egos; Sam Sharp, Purple Haze, Filterfunk & Sandler) has produced a variety of sounds at a level that only most producers can dream of, combining elements of trance, electro, techno and house constantly blowing away his fans and comrades, keeping everyone guessing what he’s going to come up with next. His debut artist album ‘Supernaturalistic’ was released in 2008 to rave reviews and launched a 32 date global album tour. He followed this by winning the coveted prize of ‘Best Breakthrough Artist’ at WMC’s IDMA, where he also received a nomination for ‘Best Underground Track’ with ‘Riff’. It’s not only Sander’s solo productions that keep everyone on their toes but his bootlegs, covers and incredible remixes. This year we have seen Sander deliver official interpretations for multi-million selling and multi-award winning band, The Killers, with his re-working of their single ‘Spaceman’, as well as ‘Peace’, the new single from electronic legends Depeche Mode. Also let’s not forget his fantastic selection of collaborations, with artists including friend and mentor Marco V on the monster tracks ‘Organic’ and ‘What Say’, and ‘Close My Eyes’, the European Top 20 hit, with a man that needs no introduction, Robbie Williams. Sander is one of the most in-demand genre crossing producers of his generation, his releases regularly picking up support from as wide reaching places as Pete Tong, Judge Jules, Tiesto and Carl Cox – you’re as likely to find his records in a house DJ’s box as a trance DJs. Not content with taking the world by storm with his productions, Sander’s DJ skills are a force to be reckoned with. Every year sees Sander playing to over one million clubbers. He consistently headlines huge events from Sensation to Global Gathering, from Trance Energy and Mysteryland through to his high profile summer residency at Cream in Ibiza. It was Sander’s DJing experiences around the world that prompted him to start up ‘Dusk Till Doorn’, taking clubbing to the next level, offering the ultimate Sander van Doorn experience.. Having already wowed crowds at the launch in May at The Gallery, Ministry of Sound, London and in Ibiza in June, Sander’s musical and visual journey continues to pleasure crowds around the globe. Sander is extremely grateful to his fans and likes to give back as much possible. In 2006 Sander set up his own radio show, giving fans the opportunity to hear him no matter where they might be. Now in it’s 3rd year and broadcast on DI.FM and syncidacted globally, the show has given Sander a platform to distribute the sound thousands of fans adore and a stage to test his own productions. In 2009 Sander relaunched www.sandervandoorn.com offering users the chance to view his Studio Sessions videos, learning the tricks of his trade, as well as being able to listen to his entire discography. The updated site includes the SvD forum, SvD shop, guestbook, his monthly hour long DJ mix and an exclusive members section which offers exclusive bonus content. With all the above happening at such an early stage for Sander, it’s easy to see where this man’s career is heading – No.1
