  2. yahoo.com Are You an Internet Addict? Fri Nov 3, 2006 7:58AM EST I was reading through an AFP report on Yahoo! News that says Serbia is now treating people with Internet addictions. This counseling center considers anyone who is not interested in daily activities with family and friends as a potential Internet addict and looks for other signs such as spending prolonged hours online, turning to virtual friends, and isolation. I'm not sure exactly how they treat Internet addiction, but they say treatment usually lasts one year. After reading this, I headed over to Net Addiction and took an Internet Addiction Test (IAT) that told me my Internet usage is causing occasional problems in my life. I won't take that test too seriously because my occupation requires me to be online a lot of the time. However, I will keep that in mind next time I choose surfing the web over, er, household chores. Can you blame me? Internet addiction can be harmful for those who delve into the darker side of the web, such as online gambling, cybersex, online affairs, and online gaming. But how do you know when you or someone you love is addicted to the Internet? When is it time to pull the plug and seek treatment? Here's a list of common symptoms to watch out for: 1. Lying about how much time is spent online. 2. General decrease of physical activity and social life. 3. Neglecting obligations at home, work, or school to spend time online. 4. Spending too much money on computer equipment or Internet activities. 5. Feeling a constant desire to be online when they're away from the computer. 6. Going online to escape real world problems. 7. Disregarding the emotional or physical consequences of being in front of a computer all day. 8. Denial of the problem. There is much debate about the reality of Internet addiction. The bottom line is that anything can be harmful when abused. If you find yourself spending more time online than with real people, then plan for some quality time with the family or friends every other day. Find an activity the whole family enjoys and make a date with them. I personally disconnect completely every weekend and get out of the house so I'm not tempted to check email. I also have movie nights and "Lost" nights during the week, which are a great excuse to turn off the computer. Different things work for different people, so just find something you enjoy and don't hesitate to shut the computer off. http://tech.yahoo.com/blogs/hughes/6574
  3. like i said, i was not driving my car, it was a buddy's car and he wasnt w/ me, how would i explain that to a cop if something were to go down...i was not only trying to look out for me but the car as well, kinda thinking bout the consequences and not just grappling down the dude or runing him over w/ the car, which it came into mind but than i realized nah it aint worth it...i did however go look for a cop, there were 5 cop cars infront of space n not one of them outside/inside their cars, n once i got a hold of one, 2 cops showed up a good 45mins later when the bum was gonne. felt like i was in la la land or some foreign country.
  4. the water bottle didn't seem so bad, try a 2 by 4 piece of plywood by some dude that seemed like he got out of a boxing ring all hyped up, telling u that he will only let u get out of this parking lot space(that he claims is his but u paid 20 bucks hours ago) if you give him 5 bucks. That happend to you where? Was that guy taller than you cus if not he had some balls. all4tribalism was probly more worried about his car when he left then about himself was my buddy's car and he was still in the club, so year i was more worried about a 2 by 4 hitting the windshield than driving home with the windshield or a piece of wood stuck to it.
  5. gonna see it this weekend - the trailers r too funny!

  7. alot of those colombian chicks r mostly into those 4"11 spiky hair/walgreens on sale shades/wearing puma boys...i call them boys because they all look like little kids, u know the ones that go to space they take over the right section of the dance floor in the patio(facing the booth)...all have the same walgreens shades, mullets, and average height is anywhere from 3"11-4"11, oh they also come in a large caravan that fits 10... personally i prefer the venuzuelan/colombian chicks from broward, they're not so cliche/groupie...but that's just me
  8. feliz anniversario OG as much as i like the patio, enjoying at least 1-2 hour(s) of your set when you're in town is deff a standard.
  9. I also used to do the foreign language thing w/ the bums but a few months ago I learned a whole new strategy which is kinda funny in a way but it seems to work and the bums won't hussle u down no more. 1. act super drunk, has worked many times for me...like actually falling on the ground drunk when u see they are approaching you, talk to them but try not to make any sence...instead of asking for a dollar they will try to look out for you. 2. when a bum ask you for a dollar, before they even try to say anything, ask them for a dollar right away...they will give you a stare...this also works. ps...im sorry pod but the "cops" in downtown miami are the biggest jokes during early morning hours, i know from experience, secondly they are not going to rush over to you if let's say they call for backup/help because usually it's a bum chasing you or something minor, they take their sweet time, and eventually start questioning you like your the victim, since they sorta notice that you are in clubbing wear and chances are you just came out of space or an afterhours club.
  10. Gladius is a good guy, he went out of his way late night friday to make sure i was on the list, when he didn't have to 8) I went there w/ rob(goodlife) id say about 2-3 months ago or so i believe, no wait in line, very organized, make sure u n ur party dress nice, button up shirt would probably be preferred. id recommend parking across the street from the club or valet, brickell sometimes can be tricky to park, so maybe get their early n park on the lot across from the club. the entrance is a nice chill area w/ a water fountain that u can sit n have a conversation w/ peeps, chicks, smoke, than u got the main room 2 big bars on both sides of the club w/ a big dance floor...mixed of crowds but u do find the hot gables/brickell chicks there as well. upstairs is the patio, hot waitresses, overall good experience we had.
  11. I agree Fiji or Voss spend the extra money on marketing and water filtration than most consumer cheaper($) bottled waters such as Evian, nestle, zepherhills, w/ the exception of 2(Dasani owned by Coca Cola & Aquafina owned by Pepsi). A Fiji bottle water averages $2-3 dollars for a small bottle compared to Evian which is about $1-$1.50 dollars per bottle. But I don't know for sure if either Fiji or Voss actually use some type of industrial softerner due to their higher cost per bottle or if it is just a marketing scheme. Brida's is the biggest joke, all they do is remove chlorine from your sink water, but u still get all the impurities associated with minerals that cause hard water. A true home/commercial softener will do the job, also cost a lot more as a company would have to install the system outside your property, extensive labor, ect...but u would have clean water, no chlorine, no impurities, no hardness, no sulfur, no soup in the water. What most consumers don't know is that bottled water is just like tap water, unless it's softened. For example...why does Starbucks coffee taste so good @ your local Starbucks? All Starbucks locations use a simliar system to eliminate the minerals that cause hard water and offcourse chlorine. It's easy to tell as if you were to buy the ground coffee and try to make it at home, it wouldn't taste the same(if you didn't have a water softener). So you are right, if the water that such companies are mixing with these vodka is actually softened it will give a better or smoother taste to that vodka. The problem is that certain labels woud rather spend millions on media marketing/advertising rather than improving better tasting quality, thus brainwashing consumers into thinking the pretty label makes it the better vodka. Seems like it has worked...hence America's most selling beer...Budweiser :

  15. 23-25 im gonna be there. not likely sooner than that unless i go to space and get extremely annoyed with the crowd as the night progresses,or feel like my lungs are getting smoked out there. I like to drink in calm uncrowded places with decent. whats going on the 23rd? id go see dt as well, but doing 2 marathons side by side would be killer esp in the same club im still trying to figure out w/ chus n ceballos will deff be in town, their schedule calls for crobar that weekend, but not sure if crobar will be reopened by that time or not.
  16. neat! gotta love the cheesy but somehow sexy look of that chick, if you click on "instructions" he's also on myspace lol http://www.myspace.com/tornadojack
  17. Me & Rob(Goodlife) went to see him during WMC this year for his Nikkis party. We wouldn't be able to tell you about his dj setup, it seemed a bit extreme though lots of lcd monitors, ect. It was really hot that day, and the alcohol didn't hit us till late afternoon, so the music was decent, but we don't ID songs nor do we care, we're just out to have a good time. 8) Girls galore...it helped that it was @ nikkis & wmc too. Nikkis+WMC+JP06=a whole lotta chicks! Took some pics of his dj "booth" - not sure if you can tell his setup, we sure can't. As you can tell 90% NYC guido crew in full effect.
